Connecticut declared in state of ‘public health emergency,’ prepares for quarantine

For those of you not worried about ebola and compare this to the N1H1 scare I feel sorry for you. The two are not comparable.

Let me begin. The logistics of Africa are very much different from that of the US. In even the most populated areas there is very small interactions between people unlike the US. People live in divisions in Africa. Transportation is very limited in Africa. Africa as a whole is very impoverished and these things are not openly available to the public. That being said, it is very jaw dropping that we are seeing these numbers come from Africa. This will sweep the nation and kill millions of lives. The numbers are now going up exponentially and will soon be going up in thousands per day.

Here in America transportation is essential. One person in a city makes contact with 100s of people on any given day if not in the thousands. People in America have schools with which thousands of students attend. I could go on. This disease spreads much easier than the CDC wishes to admit. If supposedly I needed to spit on you to spread ebola it would be obvious that Africa would not be in the condition it is in. This is not comparable to AIDs. I would feel comfortable with an AIDs patient bleeding on me whereas ebola is a no go. The mode of transmission is compare able to the flu.

For some of you I understand your ignorance. Maybe lacking in some biology or medical experience. Let's review some history. The Black Plague was recently found to of been caused by an ebola-like virus and not that of the suspected bubonic bacteria. This was proven by studying the teeth of a mass grave site. I could explain the details but you can do your own research. This virus spread in era that did not have a very drastic means of transporting someone. Rats were also a concern for this spread as the rats would carry the virus in the cities. Worried yet? The unsettling stories behind the Black Death give a brief summary of how this virus works. During the winters the plague would seemingly go away. That is until winter came and began to thaw winter's leftovers. This would support some claims that ebola can stay alive in cold weather for months.

Some of you believe we live in the titanic. This is foolish. Unless we miraculously control the spread in Africa there will be no stopping it from coming here. This is how it works. You have millions sick in a third world country people get scared. People get scared and flee to neighboring countries. You can do the math.

What's worrisome is the fact that a cure is essentially improbable. I'm not sure why people haven't been talking about this but here are the facts. Ebola mutates very easily. Even if a vaccine were to be present in a few months there will be more than one different strand going around in Africa. There are already two strands. One in west Africa and another in the Congo. Unless we are able to find a cure without a vaccine this crisis will truly hit the reset button for earth. Not only that but ebola will be a "common cold". That is we will need yearly vaccinations if we wish to not die from a second strand of ebola because, that's right, you can end up with ebola a second time if you catch the new strand.

And some bonehead might quickly decide to "quarantine" whole classes or entire schools. And then you'd end with this sneaky maneuver Team Obama was pulling in 2012, where school "Terror Drills" ended with the kids in barbed-wire camps, for their parents to come fetch them

With the way those drills seem to go live at schools like in Sandy Hook school on December 2012 i would be scared to have children in school now , the most we ever did was cower under a table for a Nuclear blast and maybe twice a year go outside when the fire bell rang , but in the link you provided in NJ it states In New Jersey, new guidelines require that a “security drill” be held at public schools at least once a month.?? .

Easiest way to get at the adults is with the children and with people freaked out about Ebola anything is possible

Curiously, Obama was supposed to go to Connecticut and New Jersey today for campaign speechifying. But cancelled it at the last minute to hold a Cabinet meeting on ... Ebola.

Yes, the public schools' "relocation drills" in 2012 were seriously overboard. I always thought it was "training" to get parents used to fetching their kids from distant locations. Then one day when they drive inside the barbed-wire - BAM! Gates closed and locked.

Besides, if they have to have "drills", why not incorporate an interesting research-and-writing angle, like they do in England:

He was just here the other day so it wasn't that big a deal that he missed his second trip to the state in only 7 days..

both of you need to seriously calm down and stop reading into every little thing, Obama needed to cancel his trip, it happens all the damn time, some crisis or another comes up and they have to deal with it. It's not the end of the world and it certainly isn't a sign of martial law and it's not about relocating our schools..

Douglass you have ignored anything I have put in this thread and I live here in state, and work in Hartford close to where everything is going on. You have ignored the fact that people here seem to think that this declaration of Malloy's is more about getting votes in a hotly contested election than it is about taking away freedoms..

I'm sorry if that doesn't fit your theory du-jour at this point but man, sometimes a tree is just a tree and a politician is just a politiician without any ulterior sinister motives beyond getting the votes they need to be re-elected..

Malloy is a total moron. He has messed up some major incidents here, and right now our in state infrastructure is still battered beaten and damaged.. But... and there's that pesky but again, he knows how to win votes, and making it seem like he's scared for his citizens certainly helps do that..

SO forget it, and keep harping on tired and true conspiracy theories (I remember when it was Bush who was gonna throw us all into these camps and relocate all of our homes to some other place by force) and ignore the reality of the situation... Ebola is a deadly virus, and if, IF it starts spreading more than it is, it will make the flu look like a walk in the park.. but right now, present time, I can almost guarantee you, Malloy is looking at how many votes this will get him in November, not how many lives he will save (or going by you two how many people h can relocate or vaccinate)

You are aware that the "protocols of the Elders of Zion" is a hoax publication and has been shown to be as early as 1920? That it was outed as a fraud after it was noted that it was almost word for word identical to "Dialogue in Hell Between Machiavelli and Montesquieu"

To be quoting it as fact, really casts doubt on your intentions.. because seriously, this isn't a distraction from Furgeson, or any other issue out there, it is it's own issue and needs it's own response. The fact that the military was called in, doesn't necessarily mean that some of those military personnel weren't doctors and nurses (I happen to know a few on that contingent and they are MD's and RN's)

We currently, despite what the Alex Jones crowd would like you to think, have no active drills int he state and haven't for a while. The last one that was done was a High School drunk driving demonstration in Windsor Locks. Hardly a mass terror or viral outbreak drill.

The Governor of CT had a news conference today to clarify his position, and with the scare now at Yale-New Haven, he did not in any way indicate that any part of the state would be quarantined, cut off, or otherwise relocated, nor did he state that any airport or mass transit would suffer (Bradley Intl does not have any direct incoming from places affected.) He sounded like someone finally got it through his head that if he called this, he needs to follow through and he is (or at least his staff is) and they are not spreading fear or panic.....

So to recap : the State of Connecticut has not in the past few months done any terror drills that effected civilian populations (or included them) they have not quarantined anyone, nor are they planning to, they have not cut mass transit or any other things that you would think would be done if what you say is true. And the Protocols of the Elders of Zoin is a forgery made in the late 1800's early 1900 in Russia...
