You all should really love this video.

Where the hell are this kids parents ??????

I'm pretty sure that was his mothers IN the video - well, probably MOST of his mothers, anyhow... looked like his dear old dad made it into a couple of frames as well, but wasn't the focus.

What WAS the focus of that vid, anyhow?

ok but my point was that I liked the pop from my era a la Debbie Gibson and Tiffany and MJ when there wasn't this level of oversexuality

Did you look at what I posted? She was cute, adorable and wasn't being the slightest bit sexual in those videos

I like I said in the thread, the above videos are pop to me...not Iggy

You sound as if you are probably around the age to remember the PMRC.

I hated the idea of labels on albums, mainly because I wasn't 18, I was a punk rock musician, I wanted to believe that people like Jello Biafra and Frank Zappa were always right, and I loved to hate people like Tipper Gore., ,maybe more so.

Well having thought about having kids of my own once or twice now (haven't yet, wouldn't in this country) I have to agree with them. Do you want your kids to buy porn? Then why should they be allowed to buy the audiobook verion? Because it's set to a beat? Because it's played on the readio and tv? It's softcore porn.

Same goes for the violence, more so actually. I personally would have a much easier time explaining what promiscuous sexual behavior is to my child, than I would explaining why people are being shot in the face or beheaded, regardless of real or fake.

Guess my point is, don't feel hypocritical - feel like the caring and concerned parent you are! Way to be! The world needs more of you.

I'm a straight female, so this wasn't for the wrong reasons, but I had to check her out, and she has the kind of curves many of us females get blessed or cursed with from birth, and run in our families. So thank Goodness that not all men like boyish butts, eh. And checked her out in bikini's and found out, she's in good shape, not twiggy not toned like a weight builder, but has a great build. When I was younger before health problems, was toned and in good shape too, used to marriage proposals walking down the street.

Now that aside, the whole concept of "ideal build", pushed on people by hollywood, usually its big top small bottom, which is rather rare for females, but some are like that during their adolescent years, is all garbage.

toronto.virginradio.ca...

How many females are blessed or cursed with that? She has the weirdest ass ive ever seen. Look at that pic before responding to me. It shows her sitting down on what looks like one of those things short people used to sit on while driving. I dont know if thats like an implant or if women can actually have an ass like that. It's definitely something I've never seen. Then again i havent seen a huge array of asses in real life i guess.

The worst part is not the sluttiness but that the music sucks.

It boggles the mind that so many people like it (or do they?)

but that is how it sells...I am not saying it is right...but think about it

Who are kids going to buy these days after watching two videos on youtube?

A fully clothed R&B singer filled with soul or a half naked Iggy?

It's just how it is..I am not saying sex didn't sell in my generation, but good golly it's getting a whole heap of a lot bolder these days

I know it isn't the topic at hand, but consider even rap from the 80's and 90's and how it (usually) had a message of the destruction of homeland for a slandered set of people

now it's sex, money, guns, babes, and every single hit rap song seems to be a self-praising piece of crap that says "I am the best rapper ever"

but yeah...back to pop...it is going to sell regardless how crappy it is...and you can thank VEVO and youtube for that because the inevitable truth is, that if video representation of the music wasn't there, and somehow there was a way to assure nobody could see Iggy and JLo's bare rear ends, that crap-ass song wouldn't even pop the Billboard Hot 100 I think

Sure some might like it...but come on...what are you really noticing in that clip? JLo's butt or the music behind it?

The stars in question are performers touting dance "music" for sales. Sex sells, as does pop music. These stars appear to be in some kind of ratings completion of who can show the most skin.

Exactly,

if you wanted to listen to wendy o back in the day you kind of had to look. she wasnt everywhere.

I like rather like some risque acts that are shown on stage with music for example, but i don't feel they are appropriate for all to see such as children.

It seems a shift in culture, of extreme sexuality, is at a head now.

"Jacqueline Bisset claims young women are obsessed with being 'hot' rather than 'beautiful' "

“It’s brutal out there now,” she told The Daily Telegraph. “Girls today are so attractive and sexy, and they show themselves off in such an obvious way, so men feel that they are in a sweet shop.

“It’s not, ‘I want to be charming and magical and romantic and beautiful’. It’s ‘I want to be hot’. In other words, ‘I want men to want to ### me.’”
Source

She's got a point there. How about intelligent, compassionate, artistic, etc? That's already forgotten.

According to Vogue magazine, which is coming under fire for it's recent article: "We're Officially in the Era of the Big Booty"here

As we await the premiere of Jennifer Lopez and Iggy Azalea’s new music video, it would appear that the big booty has officially become ubiquitous. In music videos, in Instagram photos, and on today’s most popular celebrities, the measure of sex appeal is inextricably linked to the prominence of a woman’s behind.

Oh? Well, too bad of how it's being displayed. I think it's positive that a new body ideal within media normality is becoming more acceptable. But what is being shown appears to be doing more damage then good, or at least it may show that in the long run.

Young women are already bombarded by how they should look which has been causing a rise in insecurities that can sometimes lead to anorexia/ bulimia and/or BDD. Coupled with 'in your face' sexual themes by pop stars being shown all over, if they are allowed to listen to the stars or not, they are surely subjected to the imagery. Now with social media's selfie craze, and a study or research article claiming that most women have nude images. It already sparked numerous women to have plastic surgery for a "more photogenic" face. Young women, children and teens, will not have to face this literally? This appears to be more of a norm that we're being by our own accord or allowing to be conditioned into as a culture.

i remember the pmrc. was too young to really give a damn when it was happening. i am a huge zappa fan though. have read and watched the hearings.
im not calling for censorship.

i think iggy and j lo have the right to make that video. of course. i dont want the lyrics censored on songs when they are released because as a parent i can decide what gets heard by my daughter. i dont need people to do that for me.
i really am more disgusted by the fact that this is the crap kind of videos people want to see. this is the music people want to hear.
thats what bothers me the most.

there is so much good music out there. there are so many female artists out there that make killer stuff and they get over looked for crap like booty. thats what sucks.

But you got to admit it pal that's a nice pair of arses they got there I wouldn't mind tapping it

You'd hit dat mess?

Seriously?

Where's your pride, man!

That's kinda sad - and a sad commentary on current society.

Hell, if I couldn't do any better than that, I'd just go fishing. I've been married 4 times, and every one of them had both those girls (they ARE girls, aren't they?) beat hollow.

Come on pal look at j lo, she's a beaut for over 40 yeh she had a bit of surgery but still

I wouldn't kick her outa bed for farting that's for sure

In the US, you cannot show a breast on a magazine cover
www.nbcnews.com...

However it is allowed to pass the following message, in a widely watched video:
"please provide me anal intercourse, I am cheap, at your feet ready to do anything for a few shining things"

Only in US....

Well, can't say Europe is much better tho... Or Japan...

I really hate these videos, passing such a bad message to everyone.
Especially making women look so cheap and existing only to sexually serve the men. What a retarded, super sexist message.

I know you're not calling for censorship, and yes you are the type of parent who knows what's up with your kid.

I'm just saying, the PMRC wasn't either - they just wanted parents to be able to hand their 12-year-old $10 for allowance, and not have to worry about what they spend it on.
Whether it's an R-rated movie (you can accompany them) or an age restricting label on an album (you can buy it for them) it's just better that they can't just walk into a store and buy porn and sex toys, so they shouldn't be allowed to buy a recording of someone describing these things in detail and I don't think it should be on tv either. I personally don't feel we need ads for erectile dysfunction or vaginal hygiene either. Those who need them can just look in the store, why should kids have to see this - why should I have to see this at dinner time for that matter. I know, I know --- just turn it off. Done & done.

One of my last bands was asked to play a festival. We read the materials and realized it was an all ages event, actually geared towards teens and pre-teens. Being that our first song in the set was called "SNM-PDA-XXX-DV8," for example, and we had other songs about sex and drug use - humorous to adults, probably a bad influence on the kids who don't get it yet - we said thank you and declined. Unfortunately, not everyone is as responsible.

tipper gore and her pmrc cronies were mentally retarded.

their little warning labels blew up in their faces because the records that had the labels on them sold more than they ever did before. hahahahaah

do you remember the 'filthy 15'?
that was a list of 15 songs they said were 'most objectionable'
if anyone dont remember, here they are.......artist/song/reason

prince-darling nikki.........sex/masturbation
sheena easton-sugar walls.........sex
judas priest-eat me alive.............sex
vanity-strap on robbie baby...........sex
motley crue-bastard...................violence/language
ac/dc-let me put my love into you............sex
twisted sister-we're not gonna take it.................violence
madonna-dress you up...................sex
wasp-animal.................sex/language
def leppard-high and dry....................drugs/alcohol
mercyful fate-into the coven.......................the occult
black sabbath-trashed........................drugs/alcohol
mary jane girls-in my house...........................sex
venom-posessed.....................the occult
cyndi lauper-she bop.....................sex/masturbation

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^filthy 15... bwuahahahahahahahahahaahah

Many record stores refused to sell albums containing the label (most notably Wal-Mart), and others limited sales of those albums to adults. The label became known as the "Tipper sticker".[citation needed] One of the albums to receive the "Parental Advisory" sticker was Frank Zappa's Grammy-winning album Jazz From Hell, presumably for the use of the word "Hell" in its title but also for the song "G-Spot Tornado", even though it is a collection of instrumental pieces and contains no lyrics at all.

So why is that any worse than say Marylin Monroe standing over a grate with her skirt blowing up in the air?

Just asking..

People probably thought Marilyn doing that, and 2 piece bikini's were over the top when they first came out.

Whats next? dildos hanging out of their t.... perhaps that will be the next new style.

The thing is these people do stupid stuff and get in trouble on purpose. Because keeping your name in the headlines is all that matter in a marketing sense. They are constantly doing really stupid stuff. There are also some that are so full of themselves, so utterly useless like Kanye West, i'm sure you've all heard about the whole making everyone stand up thing, and then getting mad when the two guys in wheelchairs didn't. They all seem useless, but i think its just a ploy to get in the news.

Uuuuugh..i know. The best you can do is teach your children to respect themselves-to not think Too much of themselves,But to think a lot of themselves-not in an arrogant superior way but in appreciation of their goodness and the value they have to others and themselves through kindness, helpfulness to those less fortunate, consideration for others, empathy etc, their sense of humour, the talents they received, their skills or intelligence, etc. To teach them that showing off their genitals in front of the whole planet indicates a lower mentality than animals.Animals have an excuse, there's no logic and thought processes to override the prime directive of procreation.

To teach them what REAL MUSIC,GOOD QUALITY music is-and that there is NO substitute for real talent and quality. To give them the insight that if you have to produce a soft-porn video to sell the mindless drivel you're bleating-that is NOT music-it's mere light entertainment for the equally mindless.

Most of all,again-teach them to respect themselves and their bodies and their TRUE value, which is completely unconnected to the meatsacks we have to inhabit-and they will learn to regard these pathetic "pop stars" with the pitying contempt those bring upon themselves through their own choices and behavior.a reply to: CardiffGiant

I was just reminded by this post that I have tickets to see Fleetwood Mac three different nights in one week next month. Countless times I've seen em but this will be my first time ever seeing the whole group nobody sick or retired. Lindsey, Stephanie, Mick, John and Christine. Talk about music having changed. (Think someone mentioned Dolores O'Riordan same could be said bout her) Their songs are truly art, poetry, honoring of British and American folk styles, instruments not computers providing the harmony, and songs that touch upon every human emotion...Then I think (ding ding doing, bum bum bum bum) "mmmmm yea, oiiiily booty!" or however the song goes. Think of "way-pavers" like Billie and M. Callas, Ella Fitzgerald, etc. seeing where music has gone. Hey at least we got the class act Ke$ha

OMG you read my mind!!!

This crap is just disgusting and beyond ridiculous! I am so sick of seeing it.

I heard the Anaconda song in the car and was highly grossed out plus I was pissed she ruined "Baby Got Back!"

I can't stand Nicki Manaj. She has NO talent nor class! She is a puppet and will do anything to sell and make money.

Sex sells and lately it seems to be the focal point of most popular music. It's quite disturbing. When I was a kid I remember Paula Abduls "Cold Hearted Snake" being considered scandalous and risque! Hell at least she had talent and could dance and sing! This crap today is nothing but crap!

I saw the video to this song and turned it off half way through. It was so gross and I did not want to watch it. Hell I use to be an exotic dancer for crying out loud and I find this stuff appalling. It doesn't belong in music videos where young eyes can see it. Keep it in the club!!

I don't know if this has been posted but this made me laugh, it's soooo true!!

I personally stick with the 80s and early 90s when it come to music. My favorite band EVER is Matchbox Twenty. I have been obsessed with them for half my life, 17rs. GREAT band and Rob Thomas is a great song writer, a true musician. Their concerts aren't some huge production just good music and them! I also love me some Weird Al! I dont' like music of today it's just not the same. I don't mind Taylor Swift I'll admit I think she is adorable and her stuff is catchy and lets not forget she writes, sings and plays instruments. To me that is a musician. Nicki Minaj is not a musician and I wouldn't call her an entertainer either. I can't think of many other artists of today I like besides maybe a little One Republic but I won't go out and buy their CD.
