Ah Yes The NY Times what a reliable new outlet, lets ignore the facts your beloved weren't even moderate Muslims from the start of the conflict.

. Since ISIS and Assad stopped fighting each other and ganged up on the FSA. Since the FSA took a beating and then ISIS turned on the other radicals and then went back after Assad. So pretty much from the start.

I can clearer see that your an NeoCon with a mindset of that while you claim that Assad started ISIS even though Turkey and KSA are the ones arming both FSA and ISIS.

FSA (vetted moderate Muslim by the Obama Administration) admits that the FSA works with ISIS.

BEIRUT: Free Syrian Army commanders around Arsal vehemently deny any involvement in recent clashes with the Lebanese security forces, but admit to cooperating with Islamist groups in military operations along the Syrian-Lebanese border. Often at odds on the Syrian battlefields, the FSA, Nusra Front and ISIS have entered a tenuous allegiance of convenience to fight Assad-aligned forces in the badlands surrounding Arsal. “We are collaborating with the Islamic State and the Nusra Front by attacking the Syrian Army’s gatherings in ... Qalamoun,” said Bassel Idriss, the commander of an FSA-aligned rebel brigade.

CNN

This is the interesting part :

Kerry said the opposition battling the regime of President Bashar al-Assad in Syria has been outgunned and outmanned, but the administration believes that equation can change "if they receive proper training, if there are recruits that come in, and if it grows over a period of time."

The regime's legitimacy could never be restored, Kerry said.

"It is going to be our policy to separate (al-Assad), who is mostly in the western part of Syria, in a certain corridor from the eastern part of Syria, which he doesn't control," Kerry said. "ISIL controls that part. So it is clearly ... not a very difficult task to target ISIL."

"So Assad gets cut off from the oil-rich part."

And not war, means simply, we can go in without Congressional approval, we can go into Syria because it`s just anti-terror operation and not a war against a sovereign nation.

OMFG what a load of crap again !

How did Bin Laden get his start? Something about helping the poor outgunned, outmanned rebels fighting an evil regime. That worked out for the US, didn't it?

Seems the US and England are just jumping at the chance to launch attacks and supply/train these rebels. Does anyone, other than the aforementioned gov'ts, think this will not backfire right in our faces?

Treat it as an International Drug Cabal.

Right now IS, ISIS, ISIL, OR whatever FO SHIZZLE MY NIZZLE flavor of the week name thats being used.

Their operation is being setup very similiar to an 'hourglass'. Thats just my take.

:: Edit :: just came across this just now.
ISIS daily profits from oil, theft, human trafficking exceed $3mn – report

“It's cash-raising activities resemble those of a mafia-like organization,” another US intelligence official said, again on condition of anonymity. “They are well-organized, systematic and enforced through intimidation and violence.”

If you're wondering - YES, there's more:

According to US officials, the militants started imposing taxes on all kinds of economic activity in the city of Mosul, northern Iraq, even before it was seized by them in June. They threatened death penalties to those who were reluctant to pay.

From Mosul alone, IS was reaping $8 million a month from extortion, said an analysis by the Council on Foreign Relations. When the group seized the city, it grabbed millions of dollars in cash from banks, though not the hundreds of millions as initially reported, US intelligence officials say.

It's a Safe bet - that there's govt.'s working behind the scenes to keep this an Well-Oiled Machine (w/ experience).

If you want to take out an International Drug Cabal - take out their Bankroll (whoever & how many that may be).

I stated in another thread that in about 2-3yrs time from now, Iran & Saudi/Qatar will have a MAJOR fallout.

Right now IS is gearing up for the longer haul. Essentially anchoring themselves & setting up shop, if you will.

:: Edit :: I'm not sure if I'm the only one thinking this out loud on ATS but. . . I can't get over how flawless everything has pulled together. The seizures, extorsions, oil transactions, hierarchy, MEDIA, cauldron of soldiers, Supply route from Turkey, etc. . .

. . . or am looking too much into it lol

You are wrong.

Firstly, half the countries you listed that "vowed" to help "end" ISIS have in the past and continue to fund, train and arm ISIS INCLUDING Saudi, Qatar, U.A.E and Turkey. US & UK stopped funding/arming/training them when they found out their new AQ style pet called ISIS is getting out of control. You should read up on the world of black ops; you might actually learn a thing or two about the two-facedness of "our" (western) foreign policies.

Secondly, ASSAD joined forces with ISIS? Maybe if you would educate yourself on Islam you would understand how ridiculous that claim is. ASSAD'S regime is SHI'ITE (15-20% of world muslim population). ISIS is SUNNI (70-80% of world Muslim population). Meaning ASSAD on the same side as IRAN and the Maliki regime and ISIS is on the side of Saudi-Arabia/UAE and #holes like that. Meaning that at their very fabric, ISIS and Assad are opposed to one another.

Thirdly, nothing you or anyone else in this thread has said can lead to a good outcome in this crisis that we helped to create in more than 1 way as long as we allow the regimes and billionaires from Qatar, Saudi and U.A.E continue to support ISIS with the help of Turkey for arms and the oh so dear Mossad for intel & officer training via proxy.

Who IS fighting ISIS for real? HEZBOLLAH. IRANIAN SF. IRAQI ARABS. IRAQI, SYRIAN AND TURKISH KURDS. SYRIAN FSA and of course US in the form of Airstrikes and US/UK in the form of their SF "Taskforce Black". It's not so hard to get FACTS if you're looking to find FACTS.

I have a question to ask. Why is it that we are allied with so called "moderate" islamic states such as saudi arabia when we know that they fund, train and provide a safe-haven for Sunni extremists like AQ & ISIS and at the same time we ridicule and want to invade those other states that are opposed to AQ/ISIS etc. like Iran, Syria and the late Libya/Qaddafi?

to conduct oneself or perform showily or ostentatiously in an attempt to impress onlookers.

You do know Incirlik AFB is a US base in Turkey correct?

Where our planes go after they take off, Turkey has no say in.

Except over Turkish owned airspace.

They can also deal with isis or isil or whatever it's called now.

I am sure after 20 years or so the chaos which your American gov had created some people wouldn't mind a little chance.
