Look, I am all for protesting but this is the US and not Gaza. Watch how the officers act like this is nothing when they finally arrive. This to me reminds me of the 'protesting' in England and other places in Europe and we all know how that is turning out. They punched, kicked and provoked this man while also trying to burn his flag.

Allah Akbar!!! Allah Akbar!!! If you feel so strongly go to Palestine. I have read where more people are signing up to fight for ISIS from England than for their own guard.

When people, are you going to wake up?

Where as not all were aggressive, just like time and time again it has happened, it is the radicalized element that needs to be stopped.

Before the incident, Manny Vega told Breitbart News that he was unafraid of the protestors.

“Hey, I’m not going to be pushed out of here… If I was in Palestine my throat would be slit, but I’m in front of the White House,” Manny said. “This is America, and I have every right to be here with the American flag, and the Israeli flag as a counter protest.”

What are your thoughts ATS?

BTW..I changed the OP title as there is no reason to point out it was a veteran. Does it matter if he is just another person?

Given the situation over there at the moment, the guy is being a dick turning up at a pro Palestine rally with a Israeli flag and his EX-unit cap on. He's only there to create a situation and when he achieves his goal he goes running to the cops....Boo Hoo.

Considering the video doesn't show any of the context leading up to this incident there is no way to evaluate it. The marine appears to be as confrontational as his detractors. It also appeared that several of the protestors were intervening on the marines behalf and breaking up the fight. This looks like a case of "it takes two to tango."

I'll bet if the taker of the video started his camera a few minutes earlier, we would've seen this vet being a jerk.

Having the right to be there and being in the "right" are two different things.

For all we know he was calling them a load of stinking rag-head arabs before the filming started.
I'm not condoning any violence but I've lived in enough places to know how to start a fight with a group if I wanted to.
I'd call him a dick for flying the Israeli flag as well.
Yes Hammas = Bad, but they're crap at being bad with the iron dome so Israel just brazenly bombing civilians is not something that would make me want to wave an Israeli flag right now.

So what if this guy is a vet just because he is doesn't mean he can be an ahole and given a free pass. And seeing how he was shoving his finger into people faces he was just there to start trouble.

Thumbs up to the guy with the funny sign. Why did the Zionist cross the road? To occupy the other side.

I can't watch the video at the moment, but it sounds like he went there looking for an ass beating....and BIG surprise, he got what he was looking for. Judging from other responses, Context matters and it appears to be lacking in this version of the video.

Ok, so, I changed the OP to Citizen. You are right. No reason to point out he is a veteran.

@ Soloprotocol - So, he is a dick because he is protesting against the protesters? How do you know he is there to create a situation? Are the Pro Palestinians not doing the same thing. You are taking sides where I am simply pointing out that all have the right to protest, as I stated in my OP but a mob attacking one man is, well, a pussy move at minimum but is expected. He has balls showing up.

@Blackmarketeer - I agree and state that in the OP. I wanted opinion so thanks...

@mikeone718 - what is your basis for this? Looks to me like he was attacked by those I described as radicalized for bring there. He has the same right as the mob to be there.

As far the those thinking the Israel is simply 'bombing schools', you really need to get away from the mainstream media as well as educate yourself to the situation. The Jewish state was there long before the Palestinians. Israel removed themselves from Gaza and the West Bank and what happened...they were still attacked. The Israelis provide millions in aid. HAMAS needs to go.

There was never occupying as the funny sign says either. Just one group trying to live with another group.

They're like this everywhere.. got a problem with it? They'll burn down your city while the police is watching.. too much work upholding the law, let them have their temper tantrums.

This is their M.O., wherever you find a large enough diaspora of muslims you'll find that given enough time and a large enough population they'll start applying pressure to the system until it caves in. They're all about low intensity conflict.
And they only respond to violence and force, then they'll be meek victims discriminated against.. ironic because of their notorious bigotry.

The politicians won't be satisfied until they have the rest of us waving nazi flags, and indeed that is happening all over Europe. It's nothing but a sick game to them, we're merely the puppets, the means to an end which is all about total control. They're the catalyst, they needed to introduce strife into the otherwise peaceful and homogenous populations of Europe.

Off topic? I don't care. I care as much about these people as I care about the Israelis, they could all stay in the Middle East and kill each other forever for all I care, as long as they don't infect the rest of the world with their nauseous conflict and their cancerous ways.

Also, he was not the only one there. The others that showed up had but they were surrounded by police and barricades. Why not the other protesters?

Also a nice pic of someone trying to light his flag but that is ok, right?

Seems he was not the aggressor either but i am sure since it is Breitbart no one will agree, right?

On Saturday, a massive pro-Palestine and anti-Israel protest took place in Washington D.C. in front of the White House. The crowd, which numbered around 10,000 according to a DC police officer, shouted chants of “free, free Palestine,” “end the genocide,” and had a number of speakers appear, including left-wing professor Cornell West.
A group of pro-Israel protestors showed up -- and were encircled by police with barricades. The crowd shouted at the group and blew blowhorns in their direction. The pro-Israeli group had to be escorted out of the crowd in police vans.
One pro-Israel protestor showed up on the other side of the crowd, alone, with an Israel flag in one hand and an an American flag in the other.
The pro-Palestine protestors grew belligerent -- shouting slogans at him, giving him the middle finger. One tried to light his Israeli flag on fire.

What shocks me is how many people seem to think this is okay based on the ASSUMPTION this man went there to intentionally provoke. Maybe he did and maybe he didn't, but does it make okay for others to physically attack this way?

This is disturbing, in many ways. Not the least of which is the reactions here.

Poke what nest? Last time I checked DC is not part of the Gaza strip. The fact is that people went to support the opposite side of a protest, in our nations capital, and were attacked and had to be removed under guard of police enforcement is unacceptable. Does not that trouble anyone?

To me, it is not OK to abuse those who disagree with you and that is exactly what happened. One man took a stand for what he feels right just as the crowd did. As mentioned in the OP, and with other posters, there were those who tried to quell the situation but the loudest won in the end.

Nice little mob approaching at the end of the video when the officer is speaking with the man. I only saw 2 American flags in the video, one belonging to the man, that the teenage kid gave him back, and another one waving in the wind. Its in America right? the video? in front of the American Whitehouse, only 2 American flags? how unpatriotic of the rest of the mob,, err crowd, err protestors.

Kudos to the 2 American patriot flag wavers
,
The man would be one of them.

Exactly.

If he arrived and remained peaceful to make his point, the attacks were not justified.

If he was not peaceful and intended physical provocation, then neither he or the attacks were justified.

I swear people have lost their minds in this country....and on these boards.

Trust me on this. there are so called christian countries in this world where that guy would be feeding from a straw right now for pulling the same stunt.
And just for your information, Christians a Muslims live side by side quite happily in the Palestine and have done so for the past 2 thousand years. So who are you to say they were Muslims and Muslims only..how do you know this?

So what if they shouted at him, so what if they farted in his general direction whilst flipping him the bird in the process....The guy is a complete asshole. Bet he still lives with his Mummy.

If he wants to show his support for Israel he has the other 364 days of the year to do so. why today??? Because he's a Dick.

You had me at " Breitbart news".

When the video starts, the vet seems very aggressive and he is in somebody's personal space.
He got what he deserved. Simple.
