There's pictures from the last time Israel bombed a UN school. They used white phosphorus that time and it burned for days.

I'm afraid the days of Hamas being a simple terrorist organization have largely come to an end. They have graduated in technology and capability, so they have earned the status of being treated like what they rightly are. A low tech, by our standards, but capable local military force with a very real projection capability by missiles. Unless Israel gets every one of the M-302's, with absolute certainty, then essentially all of Israel is in range of a warhead running over 300 pounds.

They used to have puny rockets. Very much so, in fact. Thousands of them. Apparently, they still do by the thousands fired. They are very effectively wasting away Israels resources to feed very expensive interceptor missiles into Iron Dome for what I believe some have said aren't even fully loaded rockets in warheads. Just something to draw off those resources then.

While at least a couple hits in this battle have shown by simple range of strike, they do indeed have the M-302 as had recently been seized in transit, and ...well... Israel also has some explaining to do with their own people about it, frankly.

The range of Gaza's rockets demonstrated this week caught the Israeli public off guard. Israeli military spokesmen said military intelligence knew the rockets had made their way into Gaza.

But security officials never made that knowledge available to the general public.

Yiftah Shapir, a weapons expert at The Institute for National Security Studies, a think tank affiliated with Tel Aviv University in Israel, said the threat posed by the M-302 isn't only in the range of fire but in its accuracy. Though they are not guided, he said they are much more accurate than other rockets in Hamas's arsenal.

You are right about one thing Israel does have the better setup and if they really wanted to they could completely wipe out the Palestinians but they won't.

In the end, Hamas is a legitimate military force of Palestine, whether we want to accept that or not.

And suddenly a crazy voice of reason comes out in this thread. Excellent question. Why is the UN only trying to look like they are disarming only the Hamas? Why are they handing them the weapons back after? Seems like someone wants to keep this war rolling on but also wants to look like the good guy.
