Hmmmm, interesting, but I'm somehow not convinced. Makes me wonder if they're manufactured in Mexico or China. Last I saw, the Mexican made "Aztec" artifacts were pretty shabbily made.

That last show I went to was about 7 years ago, so I don't know if they currently are selling these. They had similar though. There are many artists at those shows that make all kinds of ufo related crafts. I did find an artist online named Jim Tierney who engraves stones for the ufo conventions maybe he should be invited to the thread to see if he recognizes them and maybe knows who the artist is? And to be fair maybe you should invite Byrd to visit the thread?

This has been posted here before.

All of these "ancient aliens" Mayan artifacts are 100% modern-day fakes. Look up the "Raul Julia-Levy" controversy, who is being sued by his publisher Elisabeth Thieriot over the fakery. The discovery was claimed by "Raul Julia-Levy", who claimed to be the son of actor Raul Julia, but was outed as a con man by the actor's surviving wife. His real name is "Salvador Alba Fuentes."

More about these fakes here, circa 2012 when these first started making the internet rounds:

Okay, I saw on Tierney's Facebook page that today is his birthday so I don't think he'll be willing to visit us soon. Oh, and I see that he now performs standup ufo comedy at the conventions also, cool. As for Byrd I see that she hasn't been on the site since 2013?

Are there any other archeologists on this site?

Byrd technically isn't an archaeologist, I can contact her personally but she has been busy. Lucky for you, I am degree qualified, worked in it decades ago, keep it as a hobby now....this is a wee experiment, I am trying to help people research "artefacts' such as the linked ones in this thread rather than accept them on face value as proof of alien visitation.

phage's link has the same artifacts as the facebook page, and more.

Raul Julia Levy's documentary has some of the same ones as phage's link.

Therefore, it would appear that the facebook page is showing more of Raul Julia Levy's "artifacts."

Wow, Zazz! I did not know that about you! ATS has some amazing members!

And yes, we do need some lessons on how to assess the validity of artifacts. I admit that when I was given a pre-columbian artifact last year as a gift (was brought over in the 60s, so not illegal) I hustled over to UT's Archeology Dept and got their opinion as my friend had thought it was worthless. It would be nice to have some guidelines to follow to weigh artifacts' authenticity spot on without taking up someone's time.

Thanks,

you have a big heart,

STM

ETA: I thought the list you had posted with investigative techniques on the page before was a copy and paste, did not realize this is your subject, sorry.

Very interesting zazzafrazz
Guess I'll go against the flow and agree that more investigation is warranted.
The area (located at the coordinates you posted) is also very interesting.

I often go against the flow
its healthy!
I must say I thought there would be many many many more pro-authentic alien contact artefacts opinions, I am surprised, pleasantly.

The only thing I would say to this without years of researching a given period and people is CONTEXT. It tells you most of what you need to know.

Where was it found.
Did it "fit in" to the other artefacts found in the layer next to it.
Did the person/s who found it have an agenda?

I wonder if those are the documents that are referenced here:

As Phillips wrote, "[Julia-Levy] represented that he would produce actual artifacts, tangible proof of an agreement between the Mayans and extraterrestrials. He stated that he would produce archaeological papers, which he did. However [Theriot] testified that she later learned that they were falsified."

source
www.hollywoodreporter.com...

Theriot and Julia Levy were making a movie and there was a dispute over the money and the process. They went into arbitration and Phillips, above, was the arbitrator. Theriot stated, in court, that Julia Levy falsified government documents.
