I expect to see "officers" wives and children pay for the sins of their fathers.

Given the statistics, they already do. Often.

I have not read the entire thread but did watch a couple of the videos. To my POV, they killed him in that first puff of smoke. When they unleashed the dog and it bit him there was no reaction to the pain of a dog bite. Then we see PD handcuffing a limp body. I offer that they killed him and then acted as a drill thinking that since this guy is homeless no one would care. My question(s): Why spend the money for a squadron of cops on a seek and destroy mission against an illegal camper? Who authorized this expenditure? And who prioritized this mission to eliminate with extreme prejudice a homeless camper against all the possible activity within a city of half a million people?

krqe.com...

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Albuquerque Police Department brass took a chance in 2007, when they hired four ex-State Police officers who had freshly been relieved of duty from that agency because of a double-dipping scandal.

One officer had resigned from State Police. The other three had been fired. All four faced criminal charges at one point for receiving payments from a private security contractor while on the clock for State Police, although those never materialized

Keith Sandy has an history, check out the link.

While I appreciate what the protesters are doing .. it's all the same lethargic protest ..nothing will come of it ..
Americans don't know how to protect and get things done, how to hold such guilty people accountable, including politicians ..
There is no fire in American people ..
The corrupt, trigger happy, power hungry cops are so out of control all over the nation .. they follow NO rules ..
And yet, people want to keep protesting in an orderly fashion, with a little running around here and there .. like that's going to solve anything ..
Serious, they need to do A LOT LOT MORE .. they need to go absolutely crazy on their officials for allowing such brutality ..

You are right junglimogli! The people need heavily armed vehicles and aircraft!! You can gloat about all your guns, but what happens when your gun needs to fight a tank? The people need some serious fire power to take on a true revolution. Anti aircraft missiles and tank busting artillery. A true revolution needs to be taken seriously and needs the fire power to back it up.

This is good to see, but protests don't really do anything. The only way to stop these "Peace Officers" from killing innocent people is to treat them like citizens. But they're not. They are protected by the courts and this joke of a judicial system. They are are above the law. These cops will get a paid leave vacation if things get more heated. The worse thing that can happen is that they get fired then get rehired by another Police Force.

These cops will almost never see an inside of a prison cell.

The way the MSM is portraying the protest is over exagerated and focuses mainly on what happened about tear gas, vandalism, and obstrusting traffic. Our lives were never "in-danger" until APD showed up in full tactical riot gear for no reason.

Guaranteed that they had some of their own LEO's in our crowd to try and cause "mayhem" as the news puts it.It's difficult to spot them here because of our very very urban setting.

Hmm..The way I remember it going down:

Everyone was peaceful and emotional. Marched up Central heading east bound. Then made a u-turn.

Hmm...Most of the traffic that passed through Central and surrounding areas were in favor of the protest. We were talking and shaking hands with the folks. A lot of the traffic even followed us throughout the entire day.Honking in support, stuff like that

During the entire march, people were handing out food to eat, water to drink, people even let other protesters ride on their vehicle.

People were having a very good time actually.
Laughing, crying, smiles, and frowns, Happy or Angry. It didnt matter if we believed the same..our message to APD and the world was clear...very clear...

WE ARE TIRED OF THE INJUSTICE NOT ONLY IN OUR COMMUNITY BUT THE WORLD AS WELL. ITS TIME FOR A CHANGE BECAUSE THE SYSTEM IS NOT AND HAS NOT BEEN WORKING AT ALL.

Skaters and bikers rode ahead. People were dancing, people were playing music, a small group brought their own drums and digereedo? children were chanting along..

Even though the protest was to recognize and end abuse of power...it seemed like we were, at that time, all in harmony and in peace with nature.

After a few hours of marching we managed to re-group back at the APDHQ.

The news forgets to mention that the surrounding areas by APDHQ was blocked off from traffic before any protesting had even gone underway. .the buildings were all closed off

Oh, and also that there was no one in the HQ...no police..no secretarys...nothing..it was very quiet except for the protesters.

Bikers and skaters checked surrounding areas making sure we weren't being snuck up on while we were at APDHQ..guess what happened...we found the police getting ready to march on us around the corner and about a block away...There was no reason for that..at that moment in time, we were very peaceful and lawful ...for the most part
...till APD tried to sneak up on us..some of us met them half-way with our cameras..others with peace signs..

At that point...a lot of people were pretty upset that they actually came up dressed to kill. the police began putting on their gas masks, some had beanbag rounds.. behind their line...You can see more of them mounting up on their horses, they brought their armoured vehicle..the building to the west of the line, around the corner were more cops just standing there. People behind us at the front were not able to see them..

Oh yea...also on top of the buildings...they had snipers...3 of them that we could see.

as they put on their masks..we the people, knew we need to get ready as well.

Alot of us came prepared for smoke and tear gas...nothing else...we werent looking for a fight..although, a lot of people wanted to; we managed to keep everything calm and walked away after about 40 min to an hour.

We walk away because we found out the police had the people surrounded on all levels..they were wanting to fight us...so we turned around and marched back up and down central. The remainder of the time the police did not bother us. unless you were falling behind or getting separted.

This time...we were upset at the fact that they had done this.
The march increased in more passion after that.

As the night came, we marched on.

We managed to pick up people from bars we had passed or just random people who were not originally with the protesters. By the time dusk had settled the main chunk of the protesters were already gone.

When the random dude climbed on the light pole, the original crowd wasnt even there really. A handful of the orgianl protestors at most. But It was filled more with anarchist kids just looking for trouble. more drunks looking for a block party and people just wanting to do it for no reason...it wasnt even a protest at that point..it was just a mob of random people drinking and looking for a fight. There were not more than 100 people at most..

The cops knew it had died down a lot and there wasn't that big of a crowd anymore...they decided to come back and make it look like the original protesters had gone mad which we had'nt. Most of were gone by that time. The cops decided to make their move on the small crowd of..randoms for lack of a better word. the news made the cops look like heroes or something to that extent which is not true at all.

What can you expect from the people of a city whos' leaders will and have not done a damn thing to help or change their community in a good way?

of course you'll get some people who will vandalise things...IT HAPPENS.

Of course you're going to have some people who really truly belive we need to "fire" back...IT HAPPENS

of course their will be some minor property damage..IT HAPPENS

OF COURSE PEOPLE WILL BE ANGRY!!!!

and there is much more that could happen but hey..

If city leaders will not hold themselves or the ones responsible for injust actions...WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK IS GOING TO HAPPEN>>WHAT DO THINK THE PEOPLE ARE GOING TO DO TILL YOU DECIDE TO GET THE MESSAGE>>WHAT DO YOU THINK PEOPLE WILL DO TILL YOU DO SOMETHING??

After this experience..I've come to realize more and more how people don't want to hear anything good on the news..People want to hear about the bad..the evil... The news wants to report the bad and they focus mostly on the bad side of a protest.

What i'd like to hear on the news would be:

How everyone affected one another by joining the support.
How everyone was helpful and thoughtful towards working for a common goal.
How it made the individual feel by seeing all the supporters stand with them.
How people want change in this community.
How the whole situation has affected you life personally

Things like that..

I don't want to hear about how a bunch of randoms exploited our peacful protest for individual gain.

After this experience..i'm understanding more and more how situations like this work.

Don't get me wrong...the people here are not push-overs..just because we don't want a fight or war..does not mean we aren't ready to fight or start a revolution..

OUR MESSAGE IS STILL CLEAR FOR THOSE WHO UNDERSTAND AND WANT TO UNDERSTAND.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. WE'RE TAKING BACK OUR STREETS, OUR LIVES, OUR FREEDOMS. IT'S TIME TPTB REALIZE THAT WE ARE WAKING UP TO TRUTH ONCE AGAIN.

YOU CAN'T STOP WHATS INEVITABLE..

The police were told not to do anything but stand there and look good for the cameras. They wanted to make the people look bad..

They did a good job doing so..
the only reason they didnt do anything is because we had a live stream broadcasting. The world was watching and their leader knew it.

so of course they weren't going to make the first move live.
Not just yet...

If you notice there wasnt a live stream going when they came in with tear gas.the real protesters were long gone by that time...it was just apd , the news and surrounding forces against a small group of misfits causing a hype..

its all psychological in that kind of situation

that just made apd look good.

It's really amazing how these issues are handled. The people just want to feel like they won't be murdered by law enforcement. They want justice when a citizen is murdered for no reason.

Here's a freakin novel idea: Instead of prepping for war with the people, what if the police chief came out with a bullhorn and told the crowd he's sorry for what happened? Even more extreme, what if he let everyone know that the officers involved will be punished? At this point, I think even a few months behind bars is better than absolutely no repercussions for officers like this.

The bullhorn thing won't work - that's too much like "Riot in Cell Block 9" by the Beach Boys.

This is like one of those corruption investigations from the 1970's, or even like the UK police now in 2014, where just recently, all the evidence in a large number of corruption investigations "disappeared". Just look at the cop shows like "Cagney and Lacey" or "Hill Street Blues" from the 1980's.

The only suitable punishment for the police department would be for the investigation to be broadcast live just like senate hearings, with everyone from head of department to canine officer involved made to make a statement, with no cover-ups, no whitewashes and no sealed documents. Otherwise statements and documents will just become "lost in the system", retracted, delayed, miscommunicated, lost during transit to and from the courthouse.

The fundamental cause of a revolution is that the people see they are going to be killed by their rulers regardless of what they do, whether it is through starvation (French Revolution), interrogation by the secret services (Romania) or through unemployment (The Homestead Strike).

Excellent posting SJE98, thanks for the on-site updates.

I rarely get upset about anything in life, probably one of the most laid-back people any of you could ever meet, but the video of the APD murdering that homeless man made me extremely sad. I get the dude has been a troubled individual and apparently a thorn in the ADP's boot heel, but there is absolutely no justification for shooting anyone in the back with an AR15. The first time I saw the video on Fox News, they failed to show or even mention the fact that the guy had surrendered and was willingly cooperating with their commands, but as soon as he did so they threw a flashbang at him and within 10 seconds had opened fire on the young man, shooting him *in the back*!! Then after firing bean bags at him from point blank range while he begs for mercy, they sick an attack dog on him because he "refused to comply" with their commands. We guess what? You shoot someone repeatedly *in the back* with an AR15, they are now paralyzed or otherwise incapacitated so of course said person isn't going to comply as they can't physically cannot move.

Seems to me these cops were just sick of messing with this guy and decided ahead of time to execute him.

Officers Dominique Perez and Keith Sandy were interviewed by the FBI and will produce a report in 48 hours. I have a good idea that ATS'ers are not going to like the report.

Regardless of how this comes out the Bureau will go on the offensive and show that the demonstrators could care less about this guy and all they wanted to do is induce violence against the police.

The major media will be 'ask' to portray it that way.

The demonstration and the violence was an incredibly stupid thing to do.

This is not my opinion about this I am just telling you from experience what the Bureau will do.

Of course as per the American norm had the victim been black everything would change and both officers would be in jail already.

Good for the people of Albuquerque!

Perhaps now the police will chill out and not be so quick to use deadly force in the future.

I don't normally support annon, however in this situation,
I think they did the right thing.

gladtobeherePeople need to rally and protest EVERY time this happens.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.

We are propense as a race to look the other way when it doesn't directly effect us.

We'll never change, people protest but it's never enough.

Man, its getting hairy over there isn't it?

From your posts it sounds like the mayor, police chief and all of their pet flying monkeys are itching to use all of their shiny new toys and doing their best to make it look like they're quelling riotous and ill mannered miscreants.

I'm certain you don't need me to tell you this, but be sure to remain vigilant against agent provocateurs.
