Informal poll: Do you use ATS dark or white backgrounds?

the apparence of a tool used to seek true informations and as an alternative to news is irrelevant to me.

Bumping the thread and question to see if there is anyone else who wants to be included. I was hoping to get 100 answers to the "poll" for a nice round number. But that seems a little out of reach for now (I think there are 90 - with 82 opting for the dark gray setting).

Well I have to say dark is what I use also, easier on the eyes. The colors have changed a few times over the course of the years, but this seems to be the best for me.

White. Black looks like garbage.

I use the dark background. I just like it, because for the most part when I'm on here, I'm sitting in the dark posting and reading.

Domo I agree with a lot of your posts but you are way off on this.

Black all the way it just goes with a conspiracy site and late night reading before bed.

Dark for me.

I always go dark, because it's the color ATS has been since I joined 12 years ago, and is easier on my eyes. Looks better too.

I would have to wear sunglasses for that white background. It's dark for me too.

Dark, definitely dark. Everyone's said it already, but the white is too glaring, and not sinister enough for conspiracies.

Someone should post a thread on this: a dark/vs/light screen choice on ATS. Dark for me (prior to thread creation).

Ditto for me. The white background just doesn't work with my glaucoma riddled eyes. But also I have found a dark scheme much easier to read without fatigue for ages, eye disorders or not.
Please make sure that it's still available in the next tweakings.

Lol slow night?

White for me, both on mobile and the desktop. When on mobile in the dark bedroom, like right now, it doesn't bother me so much. But I've also been using an app called "Night Mode" that knocks my screen to well below normal minimum brightness.

But there was also a thread from SkepticOverlord that night which said we may lose not only the desktop exchange but also the dark background for mobile users.

& considering I only have a mobile I thought I'd bump Aleister's thread.

Lets finish this with a simple but fair poll.

Everyome that wants a light background add a star to this post.

All those in favor of black background. Dont add any stars.

Lets count the stats in the morning.

If no stars then black background wins.

I will keystroke a star for you NOW: "*" DARK; but as this forum disallows such things it will have to be of the existential typing type of a very neutral Grey. Not a fan of the light screen either (but will give it a 1/2 star for the attempt of trying something potentially hated).

I use the Dark Gray/Grey background on ATS and have my EDGE browser set to an even darker charcoal. Good contrast and easy on the eyes. I'm in my 50's.

Dark background.
Old person.
Read at night.
Have glaucoma.
Hate glaring screens.
