Kiev is calling them terrorists. One of them already said today that they will get the lists of voters and will put all of them in jail. Kiev actually passed a law a month ago and anyone who is considered separatist (and all of the people that went on referendum are) is to be jailed for at least 8 years. They say that separatists are terrorists so here's your confirmation...

Did they receive a personal letter from Kiev? Are they on a terrorist watch list? Sounds to me your making alot of assumptions based off propaganda. To Kiev terrorists are the ones taking hostages taking over government building setting up mines in the cities. So overall id have to say sounds like terrorists by any definition i heard. Truth is its just another form of propaganda like separatists using the word junta on nazis. But in the end it will all get worked out im sure.

Do not worry, the voting in referendum has been pretty heavy to show the real democracy is at work. Soon Kiev will lose S-E portions as a part of their country.

On May 25th when voting in Kiev takes place, the common average Ukrainian will make sure that the 'real terrorists' i.e. Svoboda and Right Sector are not only ousted but also members thrown in jail and both type parties banned from taking any part in Western Ukraine's future politics.

The price of their actions has been heavy on Ukraine that was on Feb 22nd until the junta threw out Yanukovich.

The morale of the story is...............

If you are a small country and are not a part of any alliance then DO NOT mess around with these three powers.

USA, Russia and now even China.

These three countries have substantial powers to change the geography and demography of countries.

East Ukraine referendum: 90% of voters support statehood of Donetsk People's Republic

You have to admire the brilliance in the push for the referendum... Having the Ukraine government try to use military to block people from voting... While the western democracies scramble to condemn it as illegitimate and illegal, and will not be recognized...

Democracies condemning a referendum.

Brilliant.

You realize the vote changes nothing dont you? They didnt even vote to leave Ukraine as they said that would be voted on later. What they voted on was the right to determine there future and frankly Kiev has already agreed to to give governors more power so they basically voted. And the outcome changes nothing see the crimea vote was different there they voted to join Russia though as we found out that was fabricated with only 15 percent of the population making a decision for all.

Ps with 5 poling stations one being in moscow and the population being in the millions they didnt get near a majority vote. Couldyou imagine if that many people tried to vote at 4 locations and i might add they even closed earlier than planed i figure theyll have lower numbers that crimea maybe 5 percent. Unless of course they lied and we dont think they would do that now do we?

It's not that simple. Russian manufacturing right now is in bad shape. That's one reason why they're buying Mistral class ships from France. Even if their R&D is in good shape, it doesn't do you any good if you can't build it.

Agreed, however it takes only 1 year at most to turnaround a plant into a "high gear high performance" manufacturing facility.

Germans are masters at these and fortunately have heavy business involvement with Russia and would be happy to provide the 'lean and mean' consulting.

British are the masters of innovation but Germans are the masters of "further improvements" i.e. enhanced efficiency.

That would be in the US because they have the high tech gear to retool a plant. In Russia they would have to build the plant to make the machinery to build the high tech gear your talking years.Maybe China might buy it for them but i doubt it more than likely theyll offer to manufacture it for them. But than Russia has to agree to give up all there cool tech to the open market. Win Win for china.

See Putin didnt plan this out very well at all with the third round of sanctions to include any tech including microprocessors there not going to be any serious automation in Russia for a long time.Putin just took an entire nation and reversed there technology by 50 years and effectively made Russia Brazil with nukes. It will change once the Russian People get brave enought to stand up Putin will be gone but its going to hurt the Russian people alot. I have an aunt and uncle that are leaving Russia they plan to move to the UK here very soon even he realizes whats going to happen.

More rumors of Blackwater mercs operating in Ukraine.

The Bild am Sonntag newspaper, citing a source in intelligence circles, wrote Sunday that Academi employees are involved in the Kiev military crackdown on pro-autonomy activists in near the town of Slavyansk, in the Donetsk region.

Academi denied its involvement in Ukraine, claiming on its website that “rumors” were posted by “some irresponsible bloggers and online reporters.

Yes I agree, but the Blackwater reports/rumors that keep on surfacing suggest a company of 300-400 operatives. These latest reports are saying that they are operating along with Ukraine troops. Perhaps they are filling a counter insurgency role to counter Russain special forces said to be in the area. It's hard to see truth through all of the bullsh## though.

Apparently problems in eastern Ukraine

On April 10, in our statement on the occasion of International Roma Day, we noted our deep concerns regarding anti-Roma discrimination following Russia’s occupation of Crimea. While in Kyiv on April 22, Vice President Biden said the United States condemns in the strongest possible terms all threats and attacks against members of Ukrainian minority communities, including the Roma. We reiterate that condemnation today, as credible reports of more recent incidents in areas of eastern Ukraine, where pro-Russian groups have illegally seized control of government buildings, appear to establish a disturbing and ongoing pattern of anti-Roma violence.

The European Roma Rights Center reported that on April 29 in Slovyansk a Romani man was shot while trying to defend his home and remains in serious condition. The New York Times reported that in the same town, earlier in April, 20 masked men, who claimed to be acting under the instructions of self-appointed mayor Ponomaryev, entered a Romani household, held a woman and child at gunpoint, demanded money and valuables, and threatened them with resettlement. Media further reported that masked men then fired into Romani houses, breaking windows and destroying property. There have been reports of an arson attack on a Roma home in Cherkassy on April 29, of attacks on Romani people in Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky and Korsten, and of Romani people abandoning their homes and fleeing eastern Ukraine. These are especially worrying as they suggest a general rise in the violent expression of anti-Roma sentiment in the area.

The United States condemns these attacks, and we call on Russia to use its influence with pro-Russia separatist groups to cease their destabilizing activity that could be perceived as enabling violence and intimidation targeted at Roma. We echo the Chairman of the United States Helsinki Commission, Senator Benjamin Cardin, in commending the Ukrainian government for its denunciation of these attacks and threats against members of minorities and its pledge to find those responsible and bring them to justice.

Well many of the mayors are also the oligarchs hiring mercs and investing in there military is obviously to there advantage. One of them donated over a million just to buy fuel for the Ukrainian military. Im sure they would also want to hire people for training and possibly spec ops as well. The oligarchs are spending millions on the Ukrainian military it only makes sense really. The government cant afford to protect anyone thats why rich Ukrainians are stepping in even offering rewards for separatists i know thats going to draw in mercs as well. There paying money for equipment and people they capture. Think this isnt going to draw in mercenaries from all over the world?

Buddy, the S-E Ukrainian Train has left the station. No use chasing in the smoke clouds.

Even now, West Ukraine can come to its senses and seek closer and calmer relations with Russia and benefit in the long run....................EVEN NOW !!!!!!!

Commie bastard dictator Stalin committed the crimes on Ukrainian people known as HoloDomor. 1 to 7 million perished. But God punished those crimes via WWII where 20 million Russians perished.

Time to forget the past and look to the future.

West, US, EU are not going to toss an extra dime in Kiev's direction.

Ukranians will still be the ex-commie inferior Slavics in the DC/London/Paris societies.

Kiev should look in the direction of more respectful jobs, economic growth, and appreciation.

Not too late to change the harsh demeanor and hostility towards Russia.

Everyone makes mistakes but those who accept them are also forgiven.

Relations are a two way street Russia could easily pull out there spc ops move troops from the border and help the Ukrainians instead of threatening with every knife they have in there drawer. Russia destroyed there relationship with Ukraine they turned there back on them when they needed them. Putin miscalled this whole situation from the very beginning. He could have even prevented the ouster of Viktor Yanukovych he asked for help. But Putin was petty because he started shopping for a better deal with no thought of the long game. Than to make matters worse when maiden went down Russia could have easily come in as saviors of Ukraine instead chose to terrorize them.

Than to make matters worse his choice to destabilize Ukraine gained him Crimea but he lost far more including economical security trust of his neighbors and severe loss of respect in the international stage. Youve got 3rd world countries committing atrocities in the UN condemning Russia. He and the Russian people will unfortunately pay for his short shortsightedness. I really do hope there is a way out of this for Russians but let me say from personal experience Russians will flee if they can only leaving misery for those he cant.I hope and wrong but even my family is starting to leave maybe soon i wont have any family in Russia this really concerns my father alot. Hes been in the US since he was 18 but he has always loved Russia and i see this is very trying for him.

nazis doing what they do best, killing civilians.

Two civilian were killed and several others wounded in eastern Ukraine as the National Guard started shooting at protesters and voters, who had gathered around a seized polling station in Krasnoarmeysk, self-defense forces and witnesses said.

WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT

The National Guard entered the city in the Donetsk region earlier on Sunday and occupied several polling stations, the city council building among them. First reports on shooting appeared on Twitter.

“I just saw the National Guard kill one and injure several others,” Russian journalist Ilya Azar wrote in his micro-blog. Later this was confirmed by Denis Pushilin, the co-chairman of the self-proclaimed People's Donetsk Republic.

"People were just standing there, unarmed, outside the city council seized by the Guard," Azar tweeted commenting on a photo of the dead young man

Who were they i saw masked men but who were they? you dont know couldhave been from Crimea there was alot of masked men running around there. Theres reports of masked men stealing from businesses as well.Could have been a local militia or Russian spc ops trying to seed rebellion. we havnt a clue if the whole thing wasnt faked Palestinians do that all the time even dragging dead bodies to different locations. One thing odd is anywhere else in Ukraine people get mad Molotov pop out and places start to burn there everyone just kind of mills around like very bad actors missing there mark. Also notice bloodtrail before body is moved doesnt look the same after very odd.
