With all the earlier talk of faeries and elfs, dragons, pixies, locksmiths, carpenters and other strange mythical beasties...
I thought that I might introduce you all to the Kelpies!
A Kelpie is a Scottish water spirit, in the form of a water horse, said to "haunt" rivers and lochs...
Well, in central Scotland, near Falkirk/Grangemouth, they have built a 100 foot, 30 Metre high sculpture which represents the Kelpies!
AND IT IS STUNNING!!

I drive past this sculpture about 3-4 times a week, and I LOVE IT!!!



Brilliant that they've gone to the trouble and expense of creating this.

Good luck with your driving lesson! How is it going so far? I would love to stop using buses but I don't drive out of service to the community. Really.

You should definitely get peed in the library. That sounds like the best library i the world. Ours is barely worth bothering with. I've never thought of doing that. Don't get so peed you get banned though!. There's a free book shop opened up here so I might get wrecked before going in there. I've been meaning to go for ages.

I do feel better about them not living under flagstones but 'thank you so much' for the seven foot spider imagery just before I go to bed.

If I cant sleep I'm blaming you.

Thank you for the wishes of good luck! So far I have had three lessons, and I am progressing at a fairly rapid rate according to my instructor. We dealt with second gear last week, and I have to say, I much prefer it to first gear It is entirely unlike anything else I have ever put my mind to.

The thing which really sets driving apart from anything else I have ever done, is the fact that when I am sitting in the drivers seat, I am just doing what I am told, thinking about the road, the wheel, the sound of the engine, the traffic and pedestrians, the mirrors, the footwork... but when I get out of the car, and stop driving, my brain goes into a weird little euphoric bubble for a bit, as the new neural pathways being created by the experience of driving, become once again dormant, until the next time.

It is good fun, and comes with its own little neurochemical high! I like it so far!

No idea where to put a thread....here seems as good a place as any right now.

As to the bureau, I'm still going with the colours I thought of a few pages back....the English yellow was triggered by Gordi!
Normally a piece takes me a couple of days....this one is going to take a little bit longer because of the 'repairs', plus I'll have to go down to Knutsford to get the paint.
