I kinda wish that WW3 would just happen. It would solve a lot of things. And besides, I want the apocalypse to begin.

I don't think you've really though through that statement, and if you have and you still want it to happen, you're a fool. I don't say that lightly, but no one in their right mind could really want death, destruction, and chaos on that kind of scale to occur. I don't even want the Apocalypse to happen and I have a firm faith in the Book of Revelation. There are too many people who will die for me to ever want that to occur.
I said this already further up. No star for me then.

Rule 1# in modern warfare.. If the Americans come out fighting with the gloves off .. expect a lot of Chinese hardware to be smouldering on the battlefield.. If you see where i am coming from.

This warfare has a name. TOTAL WAR. POW's die. Civilians are a target. Nuclear, Chemical, Biological agents are used, destruction of infrastructure, Cyber attacks, Economic attacks, subterfuge, 3rd parties....you see where i'm going...
It's not good for anyone.

NO.. Won't go that far .. why would it!

It's all felt out before a bullet is fired.. bit like playing poker.
Suss out the opponent.. then start factoring in the what if's.

China isn't Interested in Militarily defeating the United States, It is Interested in becoming
a powerful adversary though. That's where cold war exists.

Pretty sure there will be proxy skirmishes, but an all or nothing war with the United States is suicide, for any that try's.
They know it we know it. Not going to happen.

No, I starred you, but felt I needed to reiterate. Sorry If I broke a rule. I don't think this can be said enough. There are too many people who somehow feel that completely crashing the system/apocalypse would be neat or something.

I thought that point number ten of the Bankers plan
for world domination was to foment wars, but to
make sure no one gained any land.

(10). Foment wars and control the peace conferences so that neither of the combatants gains territory placing them further in debt and therefore into our power.

Seems to me that any Action by China to claim any Island,
is playing right into the hands of the NWO bankers.

This is unfortunate for China.

I had thought that they were starting to wield their pen
more often than their sword lately, with all the great
movies they are making.

box office mojo / Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon / Academy Awards

I had hoped that an explosion in Chinese literature
would follow. But I guess there are still military factions
in China that think conquest is more effective than
exporting culture.

Looks like our navy has some reservations about it's offensive capabilities. Either that or they are just wrangling for more new weapon systems.

The U.S. Navy surface fleet must steer away from depending on defensive missiles and must move toward becoming more offensively lethal, says the admiral in charge of those ships.

“The surface force must greatly improve its offensive lethality,” says Vice Adm. Thomas Copeman, commander of the Naval Surface Force and U.S. Pacific Naval Surface Force.

“The Navy will not be able to fight its way into denied environments and maintain open sea lines of communication without the Surface Force being able to take the fight to the enemy in environments where air assets are not available or are unable to effectively or persistently operate,” Copeman says. Maybe if China takes the island they don't think they could get it back.

The U.S won't do ***t. As per.

I agree with you.

I have a feeling that China has been biding it's time, they know that the economy in the west is failing and with theirs on the up (7.6% growth in 2013) the time may well be ripe for them to start making some strategic military moves.

The US can't afford to be deploying a military machine out to the Philippines right now.

They are already there! Japan, South Korea, and Vietnam will never tolerate this let alone the Philippines and we will not leave them hanging. The U.S. Navy fleet in the area will call China's bluff any day. The Fed will always financially support out military no matter where they want to move into action.

Maybe if China puts to many troops on the island...it'll capsize and solve all our problems. Even our esteemed leadership in Congress think it may happen, so it's gotta be true. Right?

That is why we have stealth bombers and subs. Our subs would sink their ships before they got to the islands and anyone who made it through would be bombed to smithers. I will be one to say that we most definitely need faster anti-ship missiles and they have been working on it.

It depends on if you view the apocalypse as the "end of something good", that mankind is in control over; or the "end of something evil; and the beginning of something good", that God is in control over.

Thy Kingdom come.

Yea, I'm sure that's it!

Nothing says 100% confidence in your military superiority like tip-toeing diplomatic endeavors.

Everything you need to know about the US military's view on China is apparent in how the US deals with China, and that is not nearly as reassuring as you would have others believe.

Isn't debt forgiveness great ? or more importantly, it goes like this, instead of gun under the table negotiations, one of the two parties quietly agreed that little island is not important enough for them to keep (The U.S.) so sacrificing in exchange for wiping away some debt to ones we owe (China) seems like a fair exchange , no one would suspect this would they ? and to even make the proposition more exciting China is allowed it's chance to prove it's power and overwhelming military might by announcing a restricted war ! since it's military has seen no real action in recent memory, what a way to build pride and nationalism at the expense of those who are your enemy but have to come to you to fund their war machine.

You just can't make this stuff up !

America would never ever try to invade China with troops. We would draw them out to fight and quickly sink their navy, down any planes that they sent out to face down our pilots, while a massive barrage of tomahawks lit up their coastal defense and coastal air bases. The most dangerous thing besides nukes in China's arsenal is the Silkworm missile and those would be hit first or at the same time as our bombers struck any nukes that could hit anything but Russia. In the past most of China's nukes were in hardened silos on the border with Russia, meant for Russia and they can not reach the U.S. however I am sure that has changed in the last 20 years.

We would not play games with China like we have in the last wars. We would not advertise when we are going to strike so CNN and FOX can get set up for our viewing pleasure. We would pull out the big stick, weapons nobody has seen before. China would be decimated and would need to go back to farming in the Rice paddies. China simply has no chance what so ever and they know it. The U.S. Navy combined with the Japanese Navy is a massive force not to be screwed with at all.

Just remember that out new SM-3 missiles on our Aegis destroyers will down any missiles launched at out ships, including ICBM,s. Three destroyers can take out the whole Chinese air force let alone the 30 or more destroyers that will come out to play.

The end result of the end times are good, but there are seven years of pain and suffering in between. Even if I believe that I will be lifted out of the way, I know there are a lot of people who will be left here to endure the full measure of it. I don't and won't wish that on anyone. I wouldn't wish it on myself. There is a reason why it's called the "great and terrible" Day of the Lord. No matter how great, we should never forget that it will also be very, very terribly before all is said and done.

NO
The islands worth more than the debt. Heck, USA already drilling, among reasons why China show its aggressive part.

NO
No direct confrontation, unofficially agreed by all parties actually, there will be a small event/fight and a new cold war. each party do not want to get hurt.

YES
USA will "own"/patrol the area, but will Americans suffer - financial backlash by China.

Probable major war in 2015 to 2020, by that time, China army will up to "standard" and their financial are collapsing (reverse financial backlash by USA, EU and allies). If war break, it will include China+North Korea vs Japan, USA, Vietnam, Philipines, Aus and some EU allied force. Probable target are South Korea or Taiwan or the Spratlies.

But, I dont think there will be major war, its too costly for TPTB.
Hey, its still January, so predictions allowed!

Ha! It was in response to someone way far up who said they wanted the apocalypse to start, and I think they meant WWIII nuclear style. It is a tangent.

But no matter how WWIII gets going, I don't want it to start. Do you?

As far as this tiff with China, I don't think it will tip off WWIII in and of itself ... unless things spiral out of control or go horribly wrong. I would think that for something like this to remain "limited" like China envisions, it would have to be fairly carefully choreographed because you are talking about two major powers with a lot of military power packed into a limited area.

It's like watching two large male animals posturing trying to avoid having to fight and knowing that any misstep by one or other will precipitate that battle that both really want to avoid.
