Over the years I have often felt that the EU was pushing more and more toward the Marxism that destroyed the Russian people.

Often times it takes failure to show you the truth path to success. I feel this has been the journey of Putin and modern Russia.

The EU have become the Soviets. Russia has become the nationalist USA, and the modern U.S. is caught halfway between, yet leaning Marxist (the former position of Europe).

I wish the United States was leaning Marxist, Socialist, Communist, or -any- permutation of those principles.

Instead we get a Right that hates the Poor and a Left that lies to them.

I don't think this is a recent article, though.
The giveaway is that Tony Blair is assumed to be P.M.- "Anthony Blair will engineer a confrontation..."

Communism? Why don't you move to China if communism it's so great?

Our economic and political structure is irrelevant, communist or socialist, it's all the same, the problem is our corrupt politicians using it for their own personal gain (which happens just as much in socialist and communist countries) and the idiot masses that keep voting them into office.

Think of it this way, if you have thieves for next door neighbors that keep stealing from you. Do you blame the house they live in, or the people living in it?

Can't afford to move to China, but my job could.

If China's communism is so bad, why do all of our capitalist companies want to do their manufacturing there?

I can't disagree with you on the corruption of those in power, that's why I vote Green Party.

Quite possibly the most ignorant thing that I have ever read on ATS. I think you know the real answer to that question, and well if you do not then I absolutely stand by what I said.

Tell me, if things are so great in China, then why would they need suicide nets around buildings that manufacture American products? You are probably right though, you would love the utopia that is China, so maybe you should really check it out.

Why? So they can pay the Chinese workers half (if that) the wages that we get here. It's cheap labor.
On top of that, look at the work conditions and living conditions in China. No OSHA to protect the workers, either.

Not to mention the pollution is terrible, the water is nearly undrinkable in some parts of China. But you don't hear anyone complaining, because they can't, unless they are prepared to face prison time.

Unlike you, I will actually address the question quoted instead of attacking it.

China's human rights and social policy aren't as progressive as ours, giving way to abuses not seen in our country in maybe a century. However they are getting there. Worker's Unions are springing up and drastically changing working conditions. Luckily, there are more places in the world to exploit! Keep an eye on Vietnam, they will be making a larger bulk of our products as China begins protecting it's citizens.

Please.

A simple change in an economic structure doesn't change the Rule of Law.

The United States Government was not set up with Capitalism in mind, that is merely the system that emerged from our Slave-Owning System.

Communism, Marxism, Socialism, and our Constitution could co-exist.

They can pay them half, because Chinese workers can afford to live on half, and quite comfortably in a lot of areas. I've already addressed the worker protections in another post, so I won't rehash it here.

Water is undrinkable in a lot of areas in the United States, as well. How did Communism pollute our water?

How does the saying go? "The grass is always greener on the other side"

They pay them half because they can, not because they care about the living conditions of the Chinese people, just look at industrial areas of China, I would never want to work in those conditions.

The reason most Chinese people take jobs from American based companies is because the actually pay higher than the Chinese based companies, which is pretty sad considering those very same jobs pay twice as much, or more, in the U.S.

Without Chinese companies having to compete with U.S. based companies wages, would they still be living comfortably?

Aside from fluoride, our water is much more drinkable.

Just...just give up now.

Otherwise this thread will become 9 pages of rational, informed members tearing apart your ever-more ridiculous statements. By page 7 you will wish you had taken my advice.

Yes an excellent way to advance their human rights stance is to put up suicide nets around their sweat shops.... I mean factories that produce the products to be exported to consumers. Glad to see their unions hard at work getting better environments for their workers who chose death over dealing with living one more day in hell, and they are even denied that now.

It actually occured to me that the west is becoming ever more Marxist and the former Soviets swinging toward capitalism and finding great success in it. So I searched 'EU new soviet union' and came across the article.

Here's another along the same lines:

lucas2012infos.wordpress.com...

As far as someone wishing for the US to be Marxist, well just hang around a while it seems. The ACA is a great example of how incompetent people can be when it's not THEIR money being pissed away. When you have a company and it's YOU WHO GOES BROKE when you screw up, well, that's kind of a self penalizing system isn't it?

China isn't a communist economy these days BTW. It's more a capitalist economy regulated by totalitarians and putting profits above safety, environment, human rights, etc etc.. Essentially it's the type of unregulated capitalist exploitation that Marx and Engels leveraged into a worldwide labor revolution.

Wow. You really need to move to China.

You have NO IDEA of the deception.

Capitalism doesn't sell itself as some 'save the world' /'everyone has enough, but no one has too much' crap.

In a true capitalist market, you charge as much as you possibly can for anything, while attracting buyers with quality, features, or competitive pricing.

Caveat emptor.

Tell ya what, read Atlas Shrugged, it will make your life better.

China is not more an "utopia" than we are.

We slave our a$$es here too.

Difference: CHINA is where the money is today - WE are the ones who are broke. Remember.
What tells us that about the "bad communism"?

This alleged "communism" which in reality seems to be much more capitalist than the US ever was...if China was "communist", how comes that today's billionaire's are sitting in China, and OUR RESOURCES are in fact bought up by "big wigs" from China? (Or Russia, another (LOL!) "communist" country).

You realize that the so called "communist China" is investing billions in OUR properties and industry, they are buying out malls, cinemas etc. here - its VERY REAL CAPITALISM what is going on there.

And...since it's very real capitalism in China or Russia..obviously they need suicide nets since capitalism always requires a minority which is exploited by the super-rich. Maybe it's more extreme in China, but THE PRINCIPLE IS THE SAME.

An opinion piece in the Daily Mail by Hitchens is something you shouldn't even use as toilet paper. He's a well known raging loony who just makes stuff up to fit with whatever populist sounding rant he happens to be going off on now.
