You want billions to change to accept the abnormalities of the few. Homosexuality has been viewed as abnormal and unnatural and wrong by the majority of society since we were put on this Earth several thousand years ago. Now thousands of years later you believe that a few of you have evolved to the point that the billions before and current are wrong. The ones that live according to the natural functions of our bodies are the ones wrong ?

No I don't. As you so rightly said its been around since we were first appeared on this earth. Pretty much sums up how natural And ingrained I to our species it is really. Yeah, most of the western world has evolved. Its becoming more accepted. Any time you bible thumpers want to join the rest of the world in 2013 your perfectly welcome too. For the record when it comes to morals the last thing I'd use as a touch stone morality is the bible.

I call bullcrap. You didn't just have a Christian pastor look at anything more or less say anything like that. By your own hate filled words you have made it very clear that you would not be associated with us Christian folk. Let me know later if you are able to get Ghandi and the Pope to check it out.

Hang on a sec, I just pulled a homosexual off the street to show him your posts and he said to tell you he was not born this way that his daddy was in prison and his mommy was overbearing and that he is a sinner and wants God to forgive him. Todd the gay guy says hi and if he saw you in a club he'd like to push in your stool.

Call bs all you want. The Lutheran minister comes by to see mom (i tend to my ailing/elderly mom) every week. Before he came, the pastor before him would come by. Our family built their assembly hall.

If you would like I could call up the Episcopal minister. She may agree that it is a sin...but would still believe you are not talking in a way that represents christianity.

My reputation around here likely will withstand your misguided beliefs.

FWIW, my son is (still) gay. I have never been to prison.

i am astounded by some of the utter ignorance on display in this thread....

homosexuality is not a choice nor is it a disease.... it is a fact of life, some people are gay..

i see a few responses stating god is against homosexuality but my point of view is this, if god is so against it then why did he make some people homosexual at all... using religion to justify your opinion is beyond arrogance, you have no idea what god thinks.. if you did, you would be god...

however i understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinion this just happens to be mine

sincerely

a proud non religious heterosexual male with an open mind and open heart

i don't care if you love men, women or the easter bunny you will receive no judgment from me either way

peace and love to you all

Is this what qualifies as denying ignorance these days? Interesting. All I see is proliferation.

But what you posted didn't make sense at all. It just sounded like you sticking your fingers in your ear and blabbing to drown out everyone else.

Read the whole thread. I've explained this over and over. God did not make people homosexual. People choose homosexuality.

I guess no one wants to discuss the topic at hand you guys just want to turn every single thread into a Christian bashing party.

And instead of people bashing your arrogance, you will instead play the martyr and call it "Christian Bashing".

I know many Christians. Rarely do I find someone so sanctimonious. Even my time attending a baptist university....

Not at all, fat Texan was bullcrapping and trying to get me to buy that he went out and found a pastor to read my posts and that the "Christian Pastor" said I was the wrong one and needed help. So I did the same thing . I found a homosexual to do the same thing.

My moral compass is just fine. I treat everyone I meet as an equal and with respect. I help feed the homeless and as for my "immoral" relationship. I dote on my partner. I would do anything for them, anything. i do all of that because its the right thing to do not because some book threatens me with hell if I don't.

As to the OP its possible he took this stance with his daughter to show her what she's doing is wrong. He probably did it with the hope after reading what he said a few times she might eventually come round and realise a parents love is unconditional. Is there a few presumptions in what I have said there? Yes. No more then the baseless accusations people have been throwing at the kid involved.

Because people just decide they want to go through that kind of hell, right? That's a pretty presumptuous statement for someone who isn't homosexual. By the way, how did you choose? Did you think to yourself, "Well, that guy over there is cute, but that's a sin!" And voila, you're straight.

So lets discuss this, now....

....when did you choose to not be homosexual? How hard do you have to repress your desire for another man so that you can continue to choose to be heterosexual?

I know I personally could not perform with another man in the room (could never be a porn star). So I am unsure when you made your choice....but that choice was never given to me. I was born a hetero, and have always only desired women.

Is all of this angst you show in this thread related to your choice to be hetero instead of homo? Is that why you feel morally superior? Because you are winning the fight against the homosexual urges that have plagued your life and been stifled?

You didn't make your point very well. If anything, you dug yourself a deeper hole by demonstrating just how clearly your aversion to homosexuality is more ignorance than knowledge. Which is exactly how this whole thing with the grandfather and grandson happened.

This contradicts entirely what I know.

We KNOW that homosexuality seemed to have been very accepted in various ancient cultures, foremost the Romans (check out ancient Pompeji, lol) but also various depictions of homosexuality I think in cultures such as old Egypt etc.

Show me proof that HS has been viewed as "abnormal" back then...only LATER on by OUR Christian culture which went so far as to that stone murals and archaeological finds were hidden and locked away as to not shock the current (Christian) establishment. In other words: The ruling Christian establishment has ACTIVELY hidden the truth about homosexuality and other what it deemed "immoral things" which (contradictionary to what you say) seemed to have been rather normal in ancient times.

The "abnormality" ONLY came pretty much about the same time when Christianity was established. It was them who defined it as "wrong" and immoral. However, feel free to show me proof that in ancient societies "several thousand years ago" HS was seen as abnormal, unnatural and wrong..I will gladly admit in case I am in error here.

I am an atheist. And I hang out with Christians all the time. There are Christians whom I respect the way you would a mother or father. I don't practice their religion, and I don't adhere to their beliefs. You know how many times I've been invited to church? Dozens. But I politely decline and we still respect one another. They respect my right and I respect theirs. We are very good friends who don't need to attend the same church to associate with and care for one another. So don't even try to sell that line of bullcrap.

gay is just a sexual preference it aint the persons personality it aint to do with anyone else

there is no passage where it says being gay is wrong

and the bible was ment as a guideline not a book of rules and that so called mother should be ashamed im a mum of only one child as i have fertility problems so to be honest she could be gaye for all i care as i love her as she was a miracle and to be honest people are made in gods image and to be honest god gave free will so i doubt he minds as long as we respect our mother earth
