A crop of the area:

A larger view

But it's redacted so you can't see the detail when you zoom in too far in the LROC viewer. Very Interesting.

And a link to the image:

I don't know why the grey box is gone now. At any rate, it still looks like a doorway to me.

It does look interesting. There is one other dark shadow up on top from the "wall." makes me think that the "door" may be just a shallow overhang.. At the same time the formation looks odd to be inside a crater to me. I need street view to be sure.

If it is a door, someone has an underground facility. Or had.

Something akin to "Helms Deep":

More and more fascinating because the crater itself has the look of an open cast mine. What I wonder is whether craters look different on the moon to the earth due to gravity or some other factor. I am not too well up on these things but watch with interest. The Opening, if it is, does look made not natural.

That's the way craters are formed - the initial impact blasts out a V shaped ring of material. The ground is fractured and actually collapses into circular rings of terraces. You can see the fault lines in places around the picture.

I can see the full zoomed-in view of that structure. It really looks like a U shaped terrace with a small cave underneath.

Interesting how the LROC blocked it out.
Nasa up to its old tricks again supressing evidence

Seems like there is one directly above the one you pointed out as well.
