Dear bigfatfurrytexan,
Wow! That has to be in the top three compliments I've received. I'm still taken aback. (I notice they don't have blushing icons for us.) I'm
normally a wordy person, but you've made me so giddy, I'm going to gush all over the place, more voluminously than normally.
All of my grandparents moved to Canada from Europe. My parents were born and married in Canada, then moved to the US about 70 years ago. To avoid
possible discrimination my father changed his last name to what I was born with.
They moved into their home in the '40s, and since then a family member has lived in it. The phone number is the same they were first issued.
From '71-'72 I was in college at the U of Houston. I had "run away from home" with a girl I was interested in. She joined me in Houston a few
weeks after I had arrived. Within six weeks she had run off with a cowboy. You Texans, you're all a bunch of silver-tongued devils.
I left Houston after a woman drove over a motorcycle while I was on it. I was sent helmet first into a parked Cadillac. The last thing I remember
before losing consciousness was a man running out of the restaurant and yelling at me for putting a dent in his door. It's probably all of those
Texas experiences which have given me the irresistible charm I now have.
Then some time in the military, Armor mostly, including a stint with the Army Security Agency (A military branch of NSA), three degrees, working in
federal law enforcement, teaching college, working as a lawyer, and some other stuff.
There, I gave you all that and you didn't even have to buy me a beer. But, if I ever get close to Texas, I'll let you know. Now
you're a
fascinating person, me, I'm just a guy.
With respect,
