I knew it wouldn't take long for some people to come out and start blaming this on the 2nd amendment.

Actor and comedian Jay Mohr waded into the gun debate on Twitter after Monday’s deadly terrorist attacks at the Boston Marathon.

“What bothers me most about today is that we’re getting used 2 it. ENOUGH. 2nd amendment must go. Violence has 2 stop. Culture MUST change,” the Jerry Maguire actor tweeted Monday night.

What bothers me most about today is that we’re getting used 2 it. ENOUGH. 2nd amendment must go. Violence has 2 stop. Culture MUST change.

— Jay Mohr (@jaymohr37) April 15, 2013

So Jay, just by banning the second amendment, you believe we will stop all violence? What about middle eastern violence, does that count to? How does an explosion equate to a gun?

Mohr, who hosts a podcast and Jay Mohr Sports on Fox Sports Radio, followed it up with another tweet connecting the Second Amendment to a “culture of violence.”

The 2nd Amendment lends itself to the CULTURE of violence we are living in. Stop blowing up my timeline w your gun/porn fetishes.

— Jay Mohr (@jaymohr37) April 15, 2013

So this so called violent culture he speaks of is only because of the 2nd amendment.. it has nothing to do with neglected children, drug abuse, mental health, and other key facts... just guns.. right?

He further stressed that his aim was not to politicize the event, but instead to point out what he described as a cultural numbness to violence.

“No politics here at all,” he tweeted. “Just sick of watching bloodshed on tv. It’s become reality tv and we’re becoming numb. Amazed at pro gun responses”

He claims it's nothing political, he is just sick of watching bloodshed on TV, well Jay, just change the channel.. If you'd stop watching Fear based news, then you wouldn't have to feel that way now would you? Out of sight, out of mind huh Jay? Just like starving 3rd world children, in war torn countries right?

So a tragedy happens with an explosion, people die, then this guy, and probably a whole mass of other people jump on the Gun Control bandwagon and start blaming this on the second amendment, Nobody has the right to bear explosives Jay, maybe it was a terrorist from a starving 3rd world country.

I looked to see if this was posted, It probably is, but who cares, the search is broken. Don't mini-mod, thx

I guess when terrible events happen. People would debate politics and try to sway people to their side.

It's funny how he claims not to be political, but it was indeed a political statement.. And I say that because, he chose to attack the 2nd amendment for violence, not just violence in general.

If they'll take one amendment they'll take another, and that's what i'm scared of. If the gov. or anyone attacks the people we will be defenseless. I can see kim saying "oh the US dont have guns" and that will make the US seem weak and vulnerable to attacks

And getting rid of guns would have prevented the bombing how

He does realize there was no guns involved in the marathon right?
I hope he is faced with a life or death scenario and see how he protects himself and his family. I bet he would wish he had a gun then....Hes an idiot, I never liked him anyway

See, this whole event in Boston is a good reminder that it's not okay to just hand away our right to self defense. If random terrorist acts are going to be happening all over at random times, I want to at least have a fighting chance, ya know?

This is not a time to be taking guns, and relying on police and DHS to protect us from terrorists.. because they are probably the terrorists..

Sure he can try to blame the 2nd amendment crowd and culture, but doesn't he realize that he works in an industry that makes a profit from the glorification and dramatization of violence?

This just goes to show that some people are stupid and hypocrisy knows no bounds.

I really don't understand anti gun people. They want to force the issue of gun control because they believe people without guns wont do violence. Guess what we killed each other with swords and axes before guns were ever involved. I can pick up just about anything and use it as a weapon. And the only way to stop people like that is when they start killing people you step up and do something. You take them out and defend yourself. Then @#%$ hits the fan you have to react or get the hell out of there. Thats it. Crazy people. Cant stop crazy!

I guess he figured because it made a loud noise, and guns make a loud noise, that they are the same thing.

I knew the anti-gun crowd was going to blame this on 2nd amendment righters. Thats the media agenda now. It was probably some crazy middle eastern nutjob. They use pressure cookers because thats what they use back home.

It's funny that they believe the 2nd Amendment causes violence. I think I can make a decent argument that more violence has been caused by the 1st Amendment.

This thread is much less tongue in cheek than my recently trashed "Ban Pressure Cookers" thread. And it hits the nail on the head.
