holy crap, this is interesting if confirmed... they must be really pissed off at the US for interfering with it's stuff... cause I think we have been, but who knows? maybe they are just trying to sucker the US into a fight.

We have the ability to take a satellite out of the sky, and you think we couldn't take care of an ICBM that's 20-30 years behind our equipment?

9/11 was either allowed by, or enacted by the U.S. government to go to war. At least with that one it was hijacked planes which are a little harder to see coming, and a harder decision to make as to shooting them down. Either way, with 9/11, it makes sense from their point of view. If we'd taken the plane out, going to war would have been difficult. If we don't shoot down an ICBM, after it's well known that we can do it fairly effortlessly, would not help the gov to go to war, as just shooting an ICBM at us would cause public outcry for war, so allowing it to hit would do nothing in their favor. 9/11 and NK possibly shooting a nuke our way are completely different scenarios, and are about as comparable as apples and battleships.

Any potentially successful threat to the United States of America will come from inside its walls, not outside.

That's possible, but why would they want to sucker the US into a fight? It would be like Andy Dick trying to sucker Mike Tyson in his prime into a fight. (though, he's as nuts as North Korea's leadership, and he might)...so might they? LOL you realize Obama and his policies are considered to be Center-Right, don't you? Obama is nowhere near Socialist or Communist. In fact, there never has been a US president would could even be considered left-of-center. You are mistaken.

I...to a MUCH greater extent than the majority of people have a very deep and keen understanding of how any U.S. Government or any group of...action or sponcered action will take on a History and Reality of it's own completely divergent from actual events.

When I post here and talk about what and which specific U.S. Military capabilities and contingency plans will be used and carried out dependent upon which country or group of countries and what actions they have done that will create a High Probability of U.S. Military action....I do so from experience and knowledge that dictates the most possible answer.

I am not a cheerleader nor would I ever think that war is something to be proud of...it is not. What I am is someone who knows only too well just how powerful the forces spoken of are and what exactly would constitute a reason for their use.

As far as China is concerned...the U.S. Military...no matter how much one hears and reads and sees on TV the various people screaming about a Rising Chinese Military Threat...and what the U.S. must do and ho we need to spend more money to develop weapons programs to help contain this threat....they are in reality no threat at all.

Such an outcry is for the purpose of solidifying Military Weapon Systems Budget Appropriations...and for nothing more. China is Militarily outclassed in every area and ESPECIALLY in Nuclear Weapons, Direct Energy Weapons and Missile Defense. North Korean Military capabilities and lethality would have a life span of just serveral hours...20 Minutes if they were suicidal enough to use anything Nuclear.

So with this in mind I hope you understand I am here to talk about the facts and possible actions that have the highest probability of occuring.

The reason North Korea is a problem is that they believe they can keep on making small attacks on South Korea and get away with it...and so far they have.

If North Korea or any other Nation were to attack any State or Territory of the United States the way they attacked that South Korea island recently...we all know the U.S. Military would come down on North Korea like the Right Hand of GOD.

Eventually South Korea will return fire and this could cause a war since the South Korean leadership has alloed the North to get away with such attacks in the past.

100 megatons, you say?

You have "foreseen" it, you say?

The largest yield nuclear device ever built was built by the Soviets. They claimed it was "100 megatons", but in actuality it was 57 megatons. Even then it was 4 times larger than anything the US ever built. They tested it in October, 1961. Testing it blew it up, and they never built another. I'm not even sure that "100 megatons" is a reachable goal.

That bomb was called the "Tsar Bomba" - the "King Bomb":



Note that for all that explosive power, there was hardly any fallout at all, because of the burst height of two miles, or around 10,000 feet, or around 3200 meters.

What you say is correct as far as the the USN's ability to effectively stop all shipping in or out of China but once this happens and it becomes apparent to the Nations that trade with China that Chinese goods and Chinese Oil Imports will not be allowed to reach China...as well as the U.S. making certain that it's allies will suspend all trade and the U.S. making certain that any country that DOES trade with China will not be allowed access to the U.S. Market...the Worlds Largest...No Country that trades with the U.S. will run the risk of loosing that access.

As far as China's Nuclear Option...this is not an option at all for several reasons. First of all China cannot even be certain that even if it were to launch all it's operational modern Nuclear ICBM's...which are only in the low hundreds...at the United States that they would even be allowed to reach target as the U.S. has a very advanced and highly accurate Missile Defense Shield.

Secondly...for China to actually launch ICBM's it would have to contend with a overwhealming U.S. Nuclear Counterstrike that China has absolutely no defense against. Such a U.S. strike would effectively destroy China's Military capabilities in the first attack. If China's Nuclear Launch was able to penetrate U.S. Missile Defense and hit a major U.S. City as Chinese ICBM's are nowhere near accurate or numerous to be able to in any way target and destroy U.S. Missile Silo's, Nuclear Bomber Bases and completely unable to do anything to counter the U.S. Ohio Class Submarines with thier Trident Mirved Nuclear SLBM's...to hit a U.S. city would force the U.S. to strike Chinese Cities.

Thirdly...China would need to retain some Nuclear capabilities to counter Russia as these two countries have fought wars and still are very suspicious of each other. This means China could not launch anywhere near enough Missiles at U.S. Targets to ensure any degree of sucess due to U.S. Missile Defense.

Its kind of funny to see people saying that north Korea could actually hit us (midland USA) with any sort of missile. We are one of the largest and most sophisticated nation, and people actually think that a nation that is using old cold war era technology could actually hit us? Insanely funny. Reminds me of the movie "October Sky" when the Russians launched the Satellite into orbit and how all of the town folk went paranoid.

To the folks claiming that China would step in and help; China is threatening sanctions against North Korea for threatening. In a SHTF situation, you can turn your television to any news channel and watch "Shock and Awe II" - but this time instead of Iraq, it would be in a country that would rather spend millions on a space project instead of feeding their nation.
