Anywho, I was already a bit freaked out about this date and when I saw this pop up on Twitter I thought it was worthy of posting on ATS. I posted BEFORE there were any news reports out about transformers blowing.

Transformer or sub station. Big storm going on in that part of the country and that probably won't be the last. The winds are howling here in Central Illinois and we've had the power out in the whole town 3 times already. Stayed off for a total of about 40 minutes. They've got it back up and no more problems. So far. But it's normal for this to happen here in this little burg.

You don't want to 'fear monger"?!! Clear to see it's a substation/transformer lighting up the sky. Why didn't you hop in your car to take video? Clear case of "fear mongoring".

Hello everyone. I'm living on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, and nothing is happening. No bright lights, no apocalypse. It is 11:12 PM, so it isn't even the 21st yet. I'm about 45 minutes east of Annapolis, and nothing is happening like what is happening in the video.

Thats my local weather for tonight. Pretty windy, freezing rain will most likely cause some accidents around here, as it usually does. People rushing to the casino lol.

Yes I read what you wrote. So literally a few minutes after the video/twitter is posted you immediately title the thread "It's Happening!" What else is that supposed to mean? You instantly jumped to the conclusion that the apocalypse is taking place. Then you said you're freaking out. Why would you freak out?... ever heard of Occams razor? Some bright lights flashing for a few seconds is enough to get you freaking out I guess.

This was real. I saw it in person and it was actually pretty amazing and looked like nothing I had ever seen before.

I didn't "hop in my car" to take the video because I didn't take the video. Someone else did. I'm clear across the country. It was posted on Twitter before there was any news out of any power outages or substation failures.

I am in ohio and the wind is so bad its blowing my shingles and a few of my trees already down in the Woods behind my house, NO worries though me thinks, supposedly we are getting the tail end of the winter storm that is hitting the Midwest, or it could be all a conspiracy

Huh, go figure! I live in Harford County, Maryland and ATS knows I'm doomed be before I do...lol! Well, at least the power is still on here at my house, though the wind is picking up.

I'm glad I saw this here first, because if the power unexpectedly goes out, I probably would have crapped my pants. Now, I know not to over re-act. I don't think my wife would ever let it go if I freaked out, woke them up and packed the car over a simple power outage...haha!

Interesting.
I still haven't seen an official statement from an electrical company saying it was a sub station explosion.
I also read it was flashing purple and yellow and looked very odd. I've never seen a power station blow up so I don't know what it looks like.

Hell yeah. Bring it on. I'm leaving the 2012 board up all night hoping for some insanity. We all know if anything crazy happens tonight, this board will be all over it. Obviously I hope the people are not hurt etc, and that this actually means something on the spiritual scale and is not just an isolated materialistic incident. But this seems big, and with many hours left....

I live in maryland and yes this did happen its not a hoax we have no power.
