Will USA accept Iran's Help ?

According to nytimes , Iranian rescuers and aid workers are on standby to fly to New York City to provide assistance to those affected by Hurricane Sandy, the head of Iran’s Red Crescent Organization said on Wednesday.

“We are ready to help the flood-stricken people of America,” Mahmud Mozaffar, who leads the organization, told the semiofficial Fars News Agency.
His men stand ready to board planes and fly to the United States to help out, assuming the American government accepts Iran’s offer, he said.
“If American authorities agree, we can send our rescuers with equipment and tools to American cities in the shortest period of time,” Mr. Mozaffar said.
The United States government did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the Iranian offer. Victoria Nuland, the State Department spokeswoman who was traveling with Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton in a visit to the Balkans, referred the inquiry to her colleagues in Washington.
Dealing regularly with floods and earthquakes, Iran’s Red Crescent Organization is experienced in providing immediate assistance following disasters.

So what is going on here? Is Iran trying to show the US that they are not this negative entity they are being made out to be and have compassion for mankind when disaster occurs? I wonder if the US administration is quaking, thinking this is some way for Iran to infiltrate them?

It would be ridiculous to not offer the aid (if it be needed)...

I believe the US Govt. will put their politics at the top of their priority list rather than accept the help that the citizens need.

If they accepted the help then some US citizens just might see the Iranians as actual people instead of the monsters the Govt. and the MSM have worked so hard to portray them as.

Sad but most likely true.

Peace

I have only read the title...Iran wants to finish what the storm started.
This is like having a fox offering to help an injured chicken. No way
should we even consider taking any help from them,we can take care
of our own!

You gotta admit.
This is a real laugh fest.
That Ahmadinejad has a great sense of humor.
He know it won't look good no matter what decision is made.
Yes will get the war hawks in a lather and no will get the internationalists all weepy.
Obama knows what to do though.
Nothing.

Halfway across the globe and offering help for an obviously damaging storm. That is a pretty nice gesture.

Obviously trying to infiltrate America by planting spies for terror attacks later down the road. /sarcasm

Really?

You really think that Iran is going to show up with rescue teams and do what? Create another hurricane?

BLow everybody up with Nukes they don't have?

Come on now.

There's paranoia and then there's just logical fallacy.

Allow them in, when they leave detonate the bomb planted in NYC by the US Government. If they allow the help, I would leave New York.

I think if the government is in a position where they are honestly considering accepting foreign aid in that way then they should go for it. To me, it's amazing that Iran would offer. I wonder if any other countries have been as courteous.

Either way, good on them for the offer, whether we need it or not.

Go for it! I stand by my post and don't care what you think.
I would not take their offer of help too seriously.

In the land of rainbows and candy gumdrops we can take care of our own.
We don't live there, taking help from someone isn't something to be ashamed of.
There are people out there who just want to help other people when they are down.
Not everybody has a super secret agenda and wants to hurt people for a mission.
Nice people exist. Though with the propaganda these days, nice people must only exist in America

I'm no Nostradamus but here is my prediction on this matter.

The offer will be declined.

I truly hope the US can swiftly take appropriate action for the sake of the frightened children and families that can use any help they can get. Katrina's aftermath and response timing should be a wake-up call to do better - much better this time around - the world is watching.

And just to play the devils advocate here, Iran is in no position to offer assistance since being so badly burnt by the imposed sanctions.

We are indeed living in hell people!

Political posturing is rampant on both sides.

I thought the same thing about other countries offering their aid. I wonder, has Israel made such offers of aid during this disaster? Hmmmm...

I have skimmed the article! I really liked the part about them being
able to send "rescue" workers with equipment and tools to american
cities on short notice
The very same country that considers the
U.S.A. as the great satan.Oh,yeah, let them come into our country on
a "peaceful" mission to "rescue" our storm, stricken cities.
I am a cat and I smell a rat.
