Thanks. Now I've gotta turn around and change my pants from spilling coffee after laughing it through my nose. Hillarious! A real crowd pleaser. Two big thumbs up!

While I appreciate the humor here, I couldn't help but notice the patch on the guys chest is in the colors of the Iranian flag and not the colors of syria. Just where was this picture taken?

Nice post... Move over, Chuck Norris!

Seriously though -- and not to be a killjoy by any means as I enjoyed your post -- I'd like to know where you found this, because the flag insignia on that guy's jacket is not Syrian. There are two versions of the Syrian flag in current use, depending which side the fighter is on.
The "regular" Syrian flag...

...and the Syrian Opposition's flag:

What he has...

...matches quite closely with the Mexican flag's colors:

Or, it could possibly represent the Italian flag...

...which looks very similar to the Mexican except Mexico's has darker shades of red and green and includes the Mexican coat of arms centered in the white stripe. I can't readily discern any coat of arms in the pic but if the color balance in the pic is good then it's closer to Mexican than Italian. I think...

Anywhooo, unless he's wearing the wrong uniform jacket (risky if you're in a war zone) then he's probably not Syrian.

But whatever, let's not let the truth get in the way of a good story!

Best regards,

Mike

It looks an awful lot like the Italy football team's badge, actually. Same shape and design.

I have a shirt that looks a lot like that.

He may be strong, but he is not as really, really, really ridiculously good looking as zoolander. Can't compete with "the look"... sorry.

For those asking about the photo's origin.

Taken by Khalil Hamra near Idlib in Syria on June 15.

True
, but the title of the thread is "Ridiculously Photogenic Syrian".
That's what I like about the OP. The whole thing is a farce, but at least the OP presents it as such. It could have just as easily been "Ridiculously Photogenic Iraqi", or Iranian, or whatever.

I mean, we get news stories foisted on us by the MSM that target the gullible and as far as I can tell, they do the job they're intended to do. For example I recently saw one where they interview a "Taliban" regional controller who tells us why girls aren't allowed to go to school unless they do more religious study, etc etc. And who is this guy they interview? He's wearing a scarf over his face so we can only see his eyes, he's sitting by bushes in terrain that can't be pinpointed by any major landmarks -- and we're simply supposed to believe that he is in Afghanistan and he is "Taliban". For all we know, they could've filmed him in Nevada somewhere.

But most people just swallow this stuff whole. They never even think to question it as so many do here -- and that's sad. I'm not saying that this negative stuff with the Taliban doesn't go on, but I'm suspicious of the way the MSM seems to manage to get their "interviews" sometimes.

Here, the OP presents us with a guy wearing insignia that clearly has nothing to do with the Syrian forces and does it in a way that leaves no doubt the whole thing is a joke. I like that and hats off to him. It's a clever comment against the garbage the MSM puts out day by day.

Best regards,

Mike
