Good find. I was writing up my own post so I missed yours.

I still wonder why a "Free Syrian Army" fighter is wearing non-Syrian insignia, though.

My guess is it might just be a clothing line logo or as someone stated Italy's football team logo.

If you go to the link I posted, there is another shot of him walking away. His collar is flipped up and there is lettering underneath. The AP's watermark is over it, so it's hard to make out.

Yes, I was looking at that one. The exposed letters on the back of his collar look like "TAL" which strongly suggests "ITALIA".

So... Okay, I guess we could allow that a Syrian freedom fighter happens to be wearing an Italian-related clothing item. True, it's similar in some ways to the Carabinieri uniform, but hey -- maybe he's just a big fan of Italian fotball.

Not a worry. I was just curious. And again, many thanks for hunting down the source pic.
