2012, and why it is mental posion.

Let me start by saying I believe in aliens, I believe in life beyond our own planet and I also think there are things that have happened that we simply aren't being told about, however, nothing I have ever come across has had such a societal impact as this PlanetX/Nibiru/2012 ascension/Wormwood/Nemesis/insert your own end of the world here.

At the root of all of this is the general mood of the population, life, quite frankly, sucks right now. The economy is in shambles, we have rampant crime, people are ultra polarized on issues such as gay marriage, wars are popping up every day and we live again, as we did in the 80's under the spectre of nuclear war.

So it's only fitting that people, with nothing else to believe in have clung to the Nibiru/PlanetX theory. But it's poison to us as a society, why?

1) Children are seeing this and because it's on the internet, think it's 100% fact, decide that life isn't worth living and they commit suicide. Some of these kids had everything to live for and even only started thinking about suicide after reading that PlanetX was gonna kill us all.

2) It diverts attention from more pressing matters, like the economy and the wars.. we need as a species to start to address our lives, not fill the world with fear that it's about to end and noone has a chance in hell of surviving except for some rich people that booked passage on spaceships or underground bases. Class warfare at it's best, which is something that it seems Nibiru really does, polarizes classes against each other by suggesting that the uber rich and powerful know something we all don't and are prepared, while leaving us peon's to die horribly.

Think about it for a moment, how better to polarize a society, than to plant the seeds of a survivable if you have the right amount of money doomsday scenario..

Just my .02 cents on the issue.

Actually the whole nibiru , planet x thing is confined to sites like ATS , whenever I bring up the topic at work or with friends and family they don't have a clue to what I'm talking about ?? The same applies to a lot of the topics discussed here .

Exactly right ... the 2012 nonsense is harmful.. we saw what happened with the whole rapture thing as well, there were people who killed themselves as a result of Harold Campings predictions.. and many others who sold all of their worldly possessions prior to it NOT happening.

"Doom Porn" on ATS is not a good thing.. but it's something that will never stop... it happens daily and some people buy into it so deeply that they are absolutely convinced.. if it's something as big as the end of the world, you can imagine how deeply damaging that can be.. it does need to stop.. I wish it would.. but it just won't, and never will.

If your willing to kill yourself based on what someone tells you, well, you don't deserve to be contributing to the gene pool.

I wouldn't be stunned if I learned of people killing themselves because they bought into the comet Elenin trash as well.. people who die as a result of silly baseless conspiracy theories is a real tragedy...

I both agree and disagree... a younger mind is very impressionable, not everyone on ATS is an adult capable of rationalizing and dealing with those sorts of emotions... if someone is truly convinced that the world they know is going to end then some of those people would rather go out on their own terms and under their own control...

No it isn't, it's all over Youtube and children see it, are talking about it, worrying themselves about it.
OP is right, kids today have enough on their plates concerning their future but they still have a future. Right now an immeasurable amount of children are being informed that they shall have NO future come this December. Not all kids understand that what they see is complete claptrap, they take it as Gospel just because someone can use bloody MS Movie maker and overlay it with dramatic music.

Class warfare is not by default a wrong thing. The system is so screwed up it need to be reset totaly and what we are seeing is the start of that reset. A new society is needed and ego parasitic behaviour should not be encouraged as they are not but instead punished for the crap and destruction they create.

All human society is indoctrination and if the majority of the people realise that the system does not fit their best interests then it falls apart.

2012 is a hope for the people struggling. When that hope dissapear, that despair will have to get other outlets. Even if nothing overly supernatural happens there will still happen things. And it might even turn extreamly violent. That is what happens when you create an unharmonious society where people have nothing to lose and life is not worth anything. Karma and synchronicity works in a strange way and cannot be avoided. That bill alwas have to be payed. But it can be payed willingly in a happy place or unwillingly thru suffering in a unhappy place.

Sorry but I want no part of this brave new world when it entails poisoning the minds of children. 2012 is just the tip of the iceberg, nip on YT and find something. before you know it there's related video's saying all Jews are evil illumianti, kids then go back to school and start spreading it. It's poison, pure poison spooned by the so called "enlightened" and "awake". Keep spreading the fear and you will get a change, new generations so #ed up they won't care about anything, not even their fellow man......oh wait sounds like most of the doomsayers here already.....

I understand what you're all saying. It can be harmful to the adolescents who read and watch videos about it on YouTube. But let's get realistic. There is no way to stop it. People will continue making blogs, and threads, and YouTube videos no matter what. There is no way to stop them, because if anybody tries to they'll just argue that they have freedom of speech.

And they do. In the West people are allowed to write/say whatever they want. I think it's pointless trying to stop it. Just let it peter itself out. It's only four more months anyways.

The effects that we are seeing is quite opposite of enlightened and shows how humanity is still caught up in duality (the opposite to nonduality) and that is the problem and some people including myself is feed up with it. It will be different views against other different views all over until human smallmindedness dissapear of the table. Change always happen and evolution of society have to continue and evolve just like animals evolve over time. The question is do we want a stagnant middle ages that goes on for a thousand years without progress or do we want a golden age?

December 21, 2012 is in some circles though as a day when extreme change/evolution for the better will happen and people will literally change from being humans to become something more not being trapped anymore. Some belive god will finally stop playing hide and seek and send a signal to all like he do to some already giving them gnosis and grace/the bliss/the oneness (physicly opened crown chakra). This date is being pushed hard by people to become something special into the concious of man. Even if it is not a special date the constant bombardment of the date make it special. Hence my theory above that even if nothing happens people will make something happen or the days following the day.

We live in interesting times and synchronicity is appering all over the world with the 11:11 phenomenon and a lot of people seem to achive gnosis (understanding of what you truely are in relation to everything around you).

I am myself unsure what will happen but I look thru the things on youtube to see what the spiritual people/seeds are up to. I know better than to belive that because something have not happened before it will not happen in the future after my own experiances in my life. Reality is a really different thing to what we are told by conditioning in schools/religious views from my point of view.

Maybe you should include The History Channell, Discovery, and Nat Geo eo your list of so-called fear-mongerers.. because half the shows they air are about 2012/world ending scenarios. Why are people like Ab-Soul making songs about this now saying "I might get killed for this"?? Because if the people found the truth that their gov left them for dead the economy would crash.. Nibiru is the big secret. Evereything else is a diversion. The demons continue to try and cover it and deny it.. The proof is in the pudding this thread has co-intel team written all over it. I've pointed this out a number of times. The reaction from the doomsayers is that these people deserve to die and they aren't responsible in anyway. The fact of the matter is that many people that spread these theories don't actually believe them. They use them as a form of escapism, much like a television show or book. As a result since they don't believe these theories are reality they can't conceive that others might take them seriously. So in the end there is no way to put a stop to these theories. People will continue to play their game of doom & gloom oblivious to the consequences their actions have wrought.

It's all over youtube. I know so many people who talk about the 2012 conspiracy based on a youtube video they have seen. I also know youngsters who believe in this conspiracy. I would say its more widespread than just conspiracy sites.

I also agree with everything the OP said.

There is no way any of the 2012 stuff will be stopped (except after 22nd of December......and then they'll just pick a new date. Actually, it's already started, "Dr. Sal" and his 2014, or was it 2016 doomsday stuff).

The only thing that hopefully will work is: communication with your children.

Don't let them cruise the web on their own if they are really young.
Encourage them to come talk to you about: EVERYTHING.
Forewarned is a good policy to adopt: sit down and talk with them now about any of the 2012 or any other "doomsday" garbage. Warn them about what is out there on the internet and how they should NEVER take videos, blogs, etc at face value.
EDUCATE your children. Help them learn basic science, astronomy and even physics. There are tons and TONS of very simple, but educational projects you can do with your children that are on the web.
Take them out on a clear night and show them the night sky with it's wonders, and not be afraid of it.
Get a piece of glass, hold it over a candle so that the soot covers it completely and then show them how you can see the sun through it: and how there is NOTHING right next to it and headed this way.

Communication is key. You have to talk to your children (I know, I've got 6, and 2 grandchildren). You can't just feed them, ship them off to school and just hope for the best. Be an influence in their lives. Make sure they know they can come talk to you about anything, and at the same time make sure YOU know them well too. That way it can help spot behavior that might lead to something bad down the road.

Because musicians can be conspiracy theorists as well. Most underground genres (like hip-hop and metal) are full of them. What Ab-Soul does with his music is no different than someone posting on ATS. Although it may get more attention it is still just his opinion. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if his opinion is based on less research than most posts on ATS. So why do you think Ab-Soul's opinion is worth more than someone like SLAYER69?

I was under the impression that the core of the 2012 phenomenon, as well as the idea of an apocalypse, had little, if anything to do with destruction, chaos, and suffering.

The idea seemed more like a paradigm shift, awakening, or re-awakening to certain ways of thinking, feeling, or perceiving.

People just did what they've always done though. They immediately assumed the worst by pulling from arcane schools of thought, mostly Dark Age, and the rest of people who didn't and don't see the signs think its all bull #e. Quicker than you could bat an eye lash there was a storm of prediction for chaos and destruction, much to do with the sick and twisted expectations our minds have been conditioned into wanting or feeling apathetic towards it. Still, the majority of society remaining fully ignorant - a perfect cry wolf situation.

If anything, the 2012 phenomenon has been a test or gauging of humanity's current collective consciousness, and it stinks. This is why I personally get so frustrated with a lot of people and their bull# excuses as to why they don't continue to educate themselves about important issues. Instead they work and say they don't have time for anything else.

To which I say: selfishness: 1 humanity: 0
