I'm not even going to get into it.

Just look and enjoy! The other threads tell the story of how we got here with this. Thanks to Choos and LerroyJenkins for helping me access "the missing files"! The "missing files" are not (as of now) available on the NASA site. We had to mess around with some things to actually get them. So they haven't been released to the public that I know of.

The new images are of the rover tire and a lot to the left and down. I'm only 11 images away from this being a final.

Here's the GigaPan:

gigapan.com...

And the 360 degree version of it - DEFINITELY higher resolution - The highest:

www.360cities.net...

May you all enjoy.

The image is public domain - even my work of it. Do what you will with it.

Yes. There will be many more to come. I can't wait. This is just the tip of the iceburg.

Almost done upload. It's the same image, of course, but it's just, well, 360 degrees. And it's from a non-compressed image format so the 360 might have even better resolution.

I will edit the OP if I can in time. If not, I'll just post it.

Thanks for enjoying the pano!

Is it just my eyes or does the mountains in the background have some sort of terrain? I realise they most likely are just shadows but hmmm..

I seen what you are talking about but I'm going to stick to maybe shadows from the landscape for now. I am interested in the background mountains. Do the pictures seem tampered with or is Mars a very dusty planet?

Mars is a dusty planet.

I dig the haze/dust.

I see what seems to be a lake on top middle, right next to left side of white missing blank that's in middle of picture. If you zoom in, you can see a lake that seems to have water that's is so still. There maybe more to the image but im certain of the lake. Coooool pic!

Guys - get on the missing images - they're at the bottom: the rover wheel, to the left of that, etc...

Cool stuff.

Can someone clarify that the rock in the bottom right is not metallic
... I think it may be the way it is sitting or something but it stood out likes dogs ball when I went over it.

Nope. Not Andrew.

And his are from SOL 2 and they're in black and white (greyscale, rather), and they're not high resolution. Cool image, and I love the image of the sun.

But SOL 3 is just awesome as well.

You have.

It's labeled "New Mexico" because everyone says it looks like New Mexico.

But that is from SOL 2. Have a look at the raw images.

mars.jpl.nasa.gov...

But good job on matching those two!!! With the rocks and boxes to show a match - awesome job.

Edit - I don't see "test". Did you see that word "test" in there? If so, he's misrepresenting the image.
