I am with BH. You are not doing your job if you are not getting foed.

I have a silly question...what is the difference between rival and foe?

Or, is it the same thing?????

After reading this, I got curious and looked at my profile....I was a bit shocked to see that I have a rival and I'm not sure why or, if its good or bad.

I was thinking the same thing when I clicked on this thread. I had read his intro thread and his member thread yesterday when he started FOEing everyone. He called himself Gilbert though he seemed more like Benard Schnitzel. Either way, both his threads seemed to be deleted. Maybe he got banned?

Yes,smileygirl,we have people who take offense at our words enough to foe us.....We try to be nice...but some days...you know.....ive never gotten an answer to a foe queery u2u.....they are so pissed with me they cant put coherent thought to paper......hope they splain themselfs to you.........

Nope never been foed ...that I know of...I should learn how to look for it ...but I have been accused on here(cause I disagreed with someone with respect) of being part of the SSSSHHHHHHHHH...NWO...TPTB and a MOFOE!

Bam--just foed everybody on the first page. It was pretty easy.

Boom--just unfoed all of you. That was even easier.

What was harder was when I foed all of the supermods and admins. That took a little while

It used to be cool but then everybody started acting like it was some kind of privilege to be foed--I guess because of the wording it made it seem like you respected their debating skills or something.

For a little while I would friend banned posters. The only person that ever actively friended me was pluckynoonez. Some a-hole mod banned plucky--I think that's why I started foeing all of the mods. That was a few years ago though.

Before 2010 it used to be called "foe" and after that they changed it to "rival"

The idea is that these were the people whom you respected as debaters, not necessarily those that you shared a like mind.

It didn't really get used that way, most just use "foe" for those people they didn't like, I guess...

P.S. I only answered your question 'cause you Foe'd me...

I noticed in the u2u that they are calling them foes again. Maybe the "respected rival" thingy didn't stick?

I friended you, Now karma is balanced again! That was a close call!

For the record, there are some folks here who foe every member just for fun... a few others throw tantrums when folks don't agree with their POV. The way I look at it - it's a badge of honor,,, you obviously made such a good point in a thread that the only recourse the other party had left was to foe you in a fit of "There... take that!"

I had no clue you got a u2u when someone foe's you. Do you get one when people friend you?

I have never foe'd anyone as long as I have been here. I know people have said some stuff on occasion where I was like "Hey, Foe You!! but I guess I have never seen the point in it. I friended you late yesterday so it was already cancelled out.
