I just read this amazing article on a survival blog, that I felt needed some light shed on it from ATS...

Id like to link the whole story, but I believe its longer than the mods like, So here is the last 2 paragraphs

We have buried our guns as a people, both literally and figuratively. Some guns are buried in the dirt, in waterproof containers, just waiting on…. I don’t know what. Commie invasion? Too late, that happened a hundred years ago via Woodrow Wilson. Franklin D. Roosevelt reinforced it. As have most presidents and CONgress’ since then. Some guns are “buried” in gun safes. Some are “buried” on racks above the mantle. And some guns are buried in the minds of those who hope their boat won’t be rocked if they just keep their heads down and keep quiet. Maybe they won’t lose anything if they just behave themselves like good little Party members. Those who do lose, well that’s their fault, right? They should have toed the line and been “good little citizens”. They should have paid their taxes, done what they were told, and not made waves.

We are occupied today. We are occupied by a small class of people who have slowly, quietly taken control of our lives and our future. The longer we sit idly by, submitting to the usurpers in the hope that we might retain what little comfort we might still enjoy, the more we will lose in the end. It is coming to an end, you know. It can’t go on. No Ponzi scheme economy, no totalitarian regime has ever endured. History shows us that they will eventually come to a dramatic, chaotic, and violent end. Clinging to a sinking ship only guarantees drowning. This ship, this system, is going down. Freedom loving people will not allow it to continue. We will fight back. We are fighting back. And as more and more folks wake up from the socialist utopian dream, more and more of those guns will be dug up. The magazines will be loaded. The tyrants will fall. Choose your side. Choose wisely, because people are becoming more aware of just who to point those guns at. Freedom will not be denied. Dig up your guns.

When you believe it's time to bury your guns, it is in fact time to use them.

I can honestly see armed conflict in the US within a year or 2.
And I can tell that from all the way across the pond.
You guys are PISSED. And I don't blame you.

Things will have to get a lot more uncomfortable for the "middle class" before there is any kind of armed insurrection, popular or otherwise.

I don't see it happening within a year or two unless something very drastic happens. The founders were very astute in their observations when this was written:

"... and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed."

Wouldn't you say the uncomfort is escalating at an ever increasing rate? Meaning that as time goes on things will get rapidly worse.

Yes, I would. But it will take much, much more for someone to take up arms and risk the lives of their families. There is a breaking point for everybody, and we are probably nearing it for many people, but I don't think a couple of years is going to get us there without some kind of major catalyst.

Wow, the author completely lost all credibility when he called Woodrow Wilson and FDR communists.

Perhaps it is time not to bury your guns...but to celebrate your right to possess them and carry them freely.
maybe the time has come for all gun owners who are able to carry do so........Maybe time for groups to get together to celebrate the 2nd amendment by having a shooting match...or gun fair, maybe a turkey shoot with proceeds to go to that senator whos organization so bravely has stepped up to stand with the constitution and with the 2nd amendment rights.
Whatever is done, cowering in your study polishing your collection will not accentuate your rights.....
Activity of any nature to celebrate our history and or heritage, of responsible armed citizens being the very backbone of the community.
The "posse" of the old days so aptly illustrates the participatory republic envisaged by the fathers of it.
The Constituition was written for doers....for active responsible people who belived in the principals on which their republic was founded......
Remember the Alamo......?texas wouldnt even exist if a few pricipalled and courageous men had not stood off the Mexicans so bravely....dying to the last man,.for their pricipals and beliefs....founding a great state of the Union....
History writes its ever changing stories in the blood of innocents and guilty alike........
Every man has the right to his own defence from predators of every nature......
Every man has the responsibility to protect and succor those who are weaker or helpless in the face of overwhelming circumstances....
Whatever that requires of him........
Is this something to be ashamed of?
My how times do change....yet remain eeirily the same.....

The Alamo was an insignificant event in the Texan Revolution.

I really wish people like this would shut up and finally do what they say the want to do already. You want a revolution, I say go on ahead and go for it. Not willing to then shut up and be a part of the process and quit crying already.

He's not thick. Social Security is a socialistic system that started America's descent into communism - obamacare, welfare, etc.
