Probably a stupid question. Hey, it's late and I am tired.

But you sound like you know what you are talking about.

Is it considered a riot if the people are not violent? Assuming it stays that way.... and I am starting to doubt it will...

3rd and Salmon streets: Protesters shut down the intersection and police are trying to push protesters out of the street.

Never mind. Police have given up and gave the street to protesters ..

So, according to the live feed there are about 5k people there, from all over the country, and 40k global and these people still claim they are the 99%?... Really?...

That's what they said on the life feed, and if these people think they represent a mayority anywhere they are only delluding themselves...

I live in Portland Oregon, and I've been down there. I support the idea of change but this OCCUPY PORTLAND is doing absolutely nothing to make a positive or even a constructive change.
You walk through their area it smells like # and piss, there is mini meth camps going on in all kinds of tents througout the area, they're sitting with their guitars and bongos and just hanging out.
Im 23 years old, im not some "old timer" who is biased.
These people are not making a change, and it's such a shame.
Wasted time.

When you find this many people gathering in the streets after midnight for some other cause you can complain.
More people are here supporting this movement than anything else I've seen lately and this is just one area in one city. There are some reports that it's 10,000+.

The thread has been getting along fine without any trolling. If you want to argue the cause why don't you try doing it with reasoning rather than smear tactics and baseless statements. Then we will respond to you like a real part of the conversation.

Latest...

1:04 a.m.: It's a drum circle dance party in the street between the parks.

1:06 a.m.: The showdown seems most tense at Southwest Main Street and Third Avenue. Police and protesters are shoulder-to-shoulder facing each other.

I agree. The camp turned into a homeless shelter, which is really bad in the city, and a place for street kids (spoiled brats from California who live on the streets for a year or two) to hang out, get high and get into fights.

Police should have dismantled the camp once it got out of hand.. not turn it into a fiasco.

In Portland people usually choose to passout in bathroom stalls from meth and heroin OD's. Now they have Occupy.

OP's live stream is reporting 10,000 plus now.

Though, I guess it is hard to say how many are protestors and how many are people just going to have a look-see.
