Feel like providing a source/link?

I remember not too long ago there was some talk of law enforcement with vans that were equipped with similar technology. It was to see inside of cars (at least thats what they said) but one has to assume you can see inside homes.

Actually back in the day Seattle PD (if I remember right) was using the thermal tech to look inside houses for drug operations (grow plants). That went up to SCOTUS and it was ruled as a search under the 4th. That is going to be cited when and if this technology hits the streets as well.

As far as the car sensor goes, to my knowledge thats a border crossing / customs / port of entry item. There is another tech you may be thinking of that has cameras on the car and scans licenseplates. If it gets a hit on stoel / wanted person / gang activity / invewtigative / atl, the computer alerts the officer.
