IRNA, the official Iranian news agency, calls the accusations by the U.S. Justice Department as "America's new propaganda scenario" against Iran, without elaborating.

The Justice Department accuses agents of the Iranian government of involvement in a plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to the United States, with help from a suspected member of a Mexican drug cartel.

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said Tuesday the U.S. would hold Iran accountable. Two people, one of them a member of Iran's special operations unit known as the Quds Force, were charged in New York federal court.

If the Iranians really did it, they would have claimed it. But its not true and as you can see they deny it.

this is nothing more than a simple fast and furious reaction by the attorney general to show us all who the true evildoers are in the country. the iranians should also own up to sabotaging the hindenburg and assassinating all of the kennedy's.

Whats next that the Mexican Drug Cartel that was going to do this was going to use boats from North Korea? And guns from Russia? holding books printed from China's presses? While wearing uniforms made from Pakistan?

I find it curious too that this comes shortly after the Iranian Navy announced that they would be operating off our coast.

Anyone who has listened to Ahmadenijad's (ahem) speeches to the UN Assembly should find this story entirely plausible, considering that Iran already funds known terrorist regimes.

It is no wonder that a significant portion of Iran's population (especially the younger, progressive demographic) is desperate to overthrow their corrupt, fundamentalist, totalinarian regime.

So the DEA is "posing" as members of the Zetas in Mexico ??

Fabrication or not, bringing the story to the public light brings serious consequences. Not only does it bring fear to those weak-minded people it brings us closer to a bigger conflict at an alarming rate. If it's real, well, it's real. However, if this story is a rouse, like I personally suspect, it might make Iran want to really retaliate (which is probably what TPTB want anyways). I'm sick of the lies and propaganda, it's all a game to them, but unfortunately it has real life repercussions.
