Starred you for that.
I shake my fist in your general direction and exclaim!
Hey my wife says she's lucky, but I believe I got lucky too so it balances out.
She claims we are cellmates.....err soulmates!

More on topic...
Seriously folks have a renewable resource why not sell it?
If there are buyers and nobody else is using it?

Win, win!

The problem is the OP makes no distinction between kidnapping and rape and prostitution by choice. . .

I am afraid this whole thread is nothing but an outright ATTACK on another members thoughts in a previous post. ATS seems to be trending towards this style of guerrilla posting.

Instead of facing the person with the dissenting opinion on the original thread they make a new thread with their opinion as the OP in a blatant effort to take stars flags and thoughts away from one thread and into their own.

Many ATS'ers have done this recently and in the past (myself included) but in my pursuit of self improvement and the truth I've found this derisive behavior only furthers divides and adds nothing of value or new opinions to the pot...

Its a flag grab. I can't even bring myself to believe after reading most of the thread that the OP truly cares about this or understands the difference in what he is calling people and the issue he then addresses in his OP.

Care to explain the men who pay prostitutes for companionship for a night? No sex, just company. Is that disrespectful? How about a woman paying a man for sex? Is she disrespecting him or does it only work for men disrespecting women?

Please elaborate. Thanks.

I didn't come here to change your mind or convince you of anything, I really did think your ignorance was cute and i'm just a little envious that you could still display this opinion in public with complete confidence. I would have been embarrassed to be that egotistical.

calling me ignorant, sounds like your ego is getting in the way, bud.

So, if I take a girl out, spend $200 or so for the date, so I can get laid, is that any different that prostitution? Am I still a bottom feeder?

What's worse than prostitution is sexual frustration. This world would be slot nicer if some people could just get fu**ed once and a while. Even the ugly and fat and stupid ones.

So just legalize it

Make it safe for the girls that they don't get abused unless that's what they want to do for a living(because there are people that get pleasure from pain).

Make it clean for all parties and tested regular.

Step 3: profit

I am not sure what the problem is here op you say prostitution is bad and dangerous and the women who partake are all sexually abused ect ect No matter what you do prostitution will always be present unless women start giving it out for free why not provide a safe secure place with guards and medical testing? human trafficking would decrease instantly if a man new he could go to a place and get it legally that's where he will go he will not bother risking a disease or an arrest.

A man sells his body to his employer in every blue collar job in the world a man can make a living using nothing more than the strength of his body so shouldn't this be considered prostitution after all he is selling his body

So i purpose a compromise op Legalize prostitution to PROTECT the women, fulfill a need for casual sex with no strings charge taxes on the services employ these women who are going to do it anyways.
To compromise charge every woman or man who engages in the practice illegally with the victims of the slave trade a 10 year sentence in jail

sex is a basic human need why are we making it out to be a crime. I'm married so every week i pay for sex with my wife. I provide her with the things in life she wants IE happiness, companionship, material goods, food so how is that any different? because of a ring? and to be honest my wife also pays for sex, she provides me with things i need love, companionship, material goods and children and she puts up with me so she pays dearly lol

And can you name any and i mean any job an uneducated or even a moderately educated woman can make 100k a year? that's a lot of money that these girls can use to pay for college, she could even pay for the counseling she apparently needs because according to the op she was molested anyways, raise children in a nice middle class lifestyle, provide a great standard of living for them spurring the economy all for doing what comes natural
people.emich.edu...

could you image if it was legal? whats the problem here? this argument is just silly prostitution is the worlds oldest profession but thanks to people like the op here woman continue to be abducted, beaten, raped, given diseases and forced to work for pimps who take 99 percent of their money you want to stop the harming of these women legalize it,monitor it and provide a nice place for them to do it rather than in an alley or car.
To say prostitution is all bad because woman are forced into it is really an ignorant opinion did the prostitute that spitzer paid look like she was forced? do the workers in the bunny ranch looked forced? of course not are some woman forced into yes absolutely are all of them forced heck no. legalize it and put stiff penalties for an illegal prostitute and her "john" and the forced aspect will decrease dramatically. A lack of sex does horrible things to a mans mind the whole US would be better off if a man could get his rocks off after a bad day, or a good day, or whenever he felt like it without the fear of disease or arrest

Sometimes sex is just sex nothing more nothing less its a primal instinct that has to be filled and who are we to tell him or her no. Get out of our bedroom and fix the stuff that's important like making sure no one goes hungry ,balance the budget, fix social security, provide a better life for our elderly there are so many things that need to be done yet we focus on garbage like the war on drugs and prostitution i hope some day we get our act together and stop micromanaging the lives of the everyday American!!!

So basically if you have ever taken your wife or girlfriend out to dinner then went home and had sex you have just committed an act of prostitution that is by far the most [snip] [snip] thing i have ever heard so your suggesting that we never ever meet and date anyone? so we should all spend the rest of our lives alone no more children in the world born because eventually we would try to take a special someone out for dinner or coffee, we would sooner or later by them flowers or gifts.

So i mean correct me if i missed your point op but you want the world to never have sex again or it must be free no gifts or anything like that, i think that will kind of depopulate the world rather quickly and also by your definition everyone at one point in time has committed an act of prostitution then which would be an oxymoron because you just called yourself a lowlife in the very first sentence of this silly thread. so come on off the high horse there fella welcome to the real world

Mary Anne Layden, Ph. D., Director for Women's Psychological Health in

Philadelphia states in a powerful way:

Most strippers, as with other women who work in the sex industry, are adult

survivors of childhood sexual abuse. Research indicates the number is between

60%-80%. One study found that 35% of strippers have Multiple Personality

Disorder, 55% had Borderline Personality Disorder, and 60% had Major

Depressive Episodes, These are severe psychiatric problems and many of them

are connected to childhood sexual abuse. These are women who when they

were little girls would get into their beds each night and roll themselves into a

fetal position and every night he would come in and peel her open...................

Porn actresses come from backgrounds of child sexual abuse.pdf

Makes you think.........................

its a joke how most people refuse to recognize this stuff!

Well if were aware of all the factors that lead to the sexual abuse in the first place the picture would be clearer.

What is the original cause of the sexual abuse which leads to women (and men by the way) becoming prostitutes
and strippers and porn actors/actresses ?

There are also women who abuse men and children who abuse other children.

I blame clothes, And the basic brainwashing of children that sex is evil and nasty and dirty.

What is the root cause to it all? And what would be perfect? And who gets to decide what is the way we all
should behave.

I also feel sorry for the guy who has to pay for sex. Imagine how he feels if he doesn't pay he gets no sex.
No one will have sex with him unless he give's them something and yet he gives sex away for free.

Seems to me women in general could use sex less against men or to get what they want from men. And also
men could give women less reason to think they can use sex to control them.

I think those two things would go a long way to help the problem in general.

Cheers

If you've ever seen porn, you understand that it's legal prostitution, right? You can pay a woman to have sex with you, in front of a camera, and it's legal. And it's voluntary as well, otherwise it would be rape, and it would be foolish to make a video of you raping someone.

I would like to ask the OP a few questions.

What is your opinion of people who receive money for donating at a sperm bank? Is this OK?

What is your opinion of web-cam girls/boys selling live nude video chat and paid masterbation?

What is your opinion of strippers and pornography actors and actresses? Does this count as prostitution?

What is your opinion of people who use the different types of services listed above?

What is your opinion of your own sexual behavior? Are you happy with who you are?

Sex work is a high risk occupation. I fear prohibiting the sex industry would only make it grow, just as drug prohibition increases drug demand. The problem is that the highest paying sex work is usually the most hazardous. Also the supply of young women given the bad economy can cheapen the labor rates. Contracts are usually signed by naive young people, who do not know the law very well. Usually a porn star does best by cultivating a niche among a group of regulars, whom he or she can trust. But this can be difficult if the porn actor or actress forms associations with fast buck film producers, who try sign them into exclusive contracts. Frequently the terms agreed to by an actress or actor get changed at the moment of signing or are fraudulently amended. I feel the best way to shunt people into less dangerous jobs is to have a more prosperous economy, but I feel education is the most important way to alert young adults as to the hazards of sex work/porn worker. So I do not see that there is truly informed consent on the part of new porn prospects, though I suspect too many young people are impulsive and impatient for money and fame. I think it would be easiest to educate those who go to college, but that leaves a large number out who can't afford college. Perhaps the media such as Oprah and such can introduce the topic, and then let the internet do the rest. Sex work involves hazards such as bad working conditions, rough people, rape, and disease. I think the internet is a good expedient, but I would hesitate to have it taught to high school children. Perhaps there can be some sort of warning made like that on cigarette packages included in the recruitment process.
