Israel's EQK search and rescue teams ARE the very best in the world and the MOST sought after because they are so well known.

Obviously you are the only one who does'nt know about them.

If my country suffers a terrible EQK, my first response would be to call Netanyahu.

You don't know that for sure because John Key is not talking neither are the SIS.

Must every Kiwi be suspicious of every single Israeli tourist that chooses NZ as a holiday destination? I think not. I'd be more inclined to be suspicious of every Muslim that chooses Australia and NZ as their destination; especially those who arrive to our shores on boats!!!!

I'm not going to comment on NZ's EQK rescue teams but I'm statisfied the Japanese search and rescue team did an amazing job and NZ's team did the best to their ability with what little equipment they did have.

I recall when the CHCH EQK was first on these threads back in Feb I did mention some of the equipment that the Israelis and Japanese use, specialised equipment that NZ does'nt have and could had been used in the Pike Mine immediately after the first blast that killed 29 miners.

There was no great shortage of equipment for the USR teams - there were only 2 sites where they actually had anything to do

Who cares whether or not the Israeli search and rescue teams are UN accredited; fact is they are the best in the world and even I was dumbfounded John Key did'nt take up Netanyahu's offer except that of identification of the deceased.

Time and time again I think how many more victims NZ could had saved by having more overseas response teams (especially those more specialised) on the ground while John Key was deliberating for days after the quake which teams he could afford to bring over.

And as for the debarkle over the Pike Mine.....well, thats another debateable topic for another day.

Really? Go tell that to the Chinese, Japanese, Turkish, Greeks, Chileans, Haitains, Egyptians, Africans, Europeans; these are among the nations who brought the Israeli search and rescue teams out to some of their worst EQKs in history. Of course, Australians and Kiwis know little of them and the Americans barely know anything that goes on outside their countries.

Now because NZ stuck their noses up to members of the Israeli response teams just because they were'nt UN accredited; that's NZ's loss. Other nations did'nt see it that way when they employed them in the past.

There were NO spies among the Israelis found in the aftermarth of the CHCH EQK; they were just a group of Israeli backpackers who typically travel backpacking for a year immediately after completing their IDF service before entering university. It's called a gap year!

I'm sorry, wasn't one of them found with 5 passports? If that is normal amongst Israeli back packers then I'm not going to speculate.

I recall hearing some report by an ex israeli premier who stated that `never again`, would israelis be attacked by nazis ect. That every jewish person was a now mossad agent. Think it was that goldy woman. So I guess even search rescue teams of israelis, are members of mossad, picking up any Ids or passports that they come across. Not to mention organ harvesting.
5 passports? Seems a strange thing for a rescue team to have.

I'm well aware of how a majority of Kiwis today feel about the Israelis; it was'nt like that in the 1960's and 1970s in NZ....different generation. Many Kiwis today stink of anti-semitism and are a bloody embarrassment to my generation. In my days growing up in NZ, we respected and admired the Israelis.

It may be far fetched by counting the numbers of immigrants arriving to Australia and New Zealand. Perhaps they act like smugglers and steal the passports of the immigrants they smuggle.

So in your books, all Israelis are all Mossad agents who run around with 5 passports on their person looking to snatch foreign passorts and human organs whenever there's an EQK?

Has it ever been considered that Israelis do tend to carry more than one passport because their Israeli passport is not accepted in many countries?

The Kiwis are pretty damn good at finger pointing at the Israelis but Kiwi tourists have all behaved in foreign lands, right? How many Kiwis are stuck in foreign prisons now as you type? They certainly have'nt made their country very proud in the past 20 years with some of their behaviour.

It's normal for them to carry more than one passport, yes. I personally, don't see a problem with it.
