US ally deposed...........Christians being slaughtered...........what more could a lefty hope for?

I notice no coverage on the news of this the last couple days I just happened to stumble across this on a blog post. Obama must have been screaming 'Allahu Akbar' in the big house and sent out orders to his media cronies to look the other way to Libya.

(AINA) -- For the second time in as many days, Egyptian armed force stormed the 5th century old St. Bishoy monastery in Wadi el-Natroun, 110 kilometers from Cairo. Live ammunition was fired, wounding two monks and six Coptic monastery workers.

Several sources confirmed the army's use of RPG ammunition. Four people have been arrested including three monks and a Coptic lawyer who was at the monastery investigating yesterday's army attack. Monk Aksios Ava Bishoy told activist Nader Shoukry of Freecopts the armed forces stormed the main entrance gate to the monastery in the morning using five tanks, armored vehicles and a bulldozer to demolish the fence built by the monastery last month to protect themselves and the monastery from the lawlessness which prevailed in Egypt during the January 25 Uprising. "When we tried to address them, the army fired live bullets, wounding Father Feltaows in the leg and Father Barnabas in the abdomen," said Monk Ava Bishoy. "Six Coptic workers in the monastery were also injured, some with serious injuries to the chest."

The injured were rushed to the nearby Sadat Hospital, the ones in serious condition were transferred to the Anglo-Egyptian Hospital in Cairo. Father Hemanot Ava Bishoy said the army fired live ammunition and RPGs continuously for 30 minutes, which hit part of the ancient fence inside the monastery. "The army was shocked to see the monks standing there praying 'Lord have mercy' without running away. This is what really upset them," he said. "As the soldiers were demolishing the gate and the fence they were chanting 'Allahu Akbar' and 'Victory, Victory'."

He also added that the army prevented the monastery's car from taking the injured to hospital.

Glad they're alive. Can't believe they didn't use their car initially. Pray on the way?

okay... 'alleged' US ally deposed. I have a feeling if Mubarak was that important they would have had more to say (and your right it hasnt been in any other news sources, neither those with credibile journalists nor even those that could be argued to have propaganda agendas fiercely pro christian.) Sorry but I aint buying what this news site's peddling. What Qaddafi is saying is more believable.

You have to admit it's natural to question this story. From what I can tell, the source of the story is from this single news agency and, within the article, it states the EAF has denied the charges. Of course, they could be lying, but, at the moment, we have a situation of one's word against another's.

BTW, what does this have to do with "lefties"? I am one of those and, if this is true, I can tell you that it would NOT make me happy and find it offensive that I you would suggest that I would take pleasure in this just because of my liberal ideologies.

Thanks for those sources. For some reason, when I did a search only a few different sources pulled up and all referenced the OPs source.

For those interested and curious as to the validity of this story, here is a video of the incident (from a link within one of beezer's sources):

Video of attack on church

I won't lie. I didn't watch it all as these types of videos tend to get a very emotional response out of me. The video warns of its 'somewhat' graphic nature.

If a guy with a tank says don't build a fence, you don't build a fence and throw rocks at the tank. And these were not Americans so what does Obama have to do with it? Why not call the Pope he seems to be the one in charge of Catholics or is there another child molester priest out there. Oh yea there were three or four plus the guy who tryed to cover it up but the law seems to be prosecuting them for a change. Glad to see that.

So it's ok to kill them? Just a few weeks ago, thousands were "disobeying" the guys with the tanks. So you were on the side of Mubarak, then?

The guys with the tanks were protectors the cops in Egypt were the ones fighting and shooting people. The military is to close to the US and did what the boss wanted who gives them billions of dollars from USAID and not to mention a large portion of there military supplies.

The video works on this site and I never seen any one get shot. The sign had a few holes in it and the fence got destroyed. Some kid at the end lifts his shirt and has a small place on his stomache. Not a gun shot.

No I just call it as I see it and this is crap. Its a made up story about muslims attacking christians with tanks and muslim Obama does nothing. Its a republican christian wet dream that something could of really happened but it did not but don't let that stop you from your story telling.

You're right. I made up the story. The videos. The eyewitnesses. (actually Dick Chenney did)
Ignore the truth and support killers.
It is your right, I suppose. . . . .

The video does not show any body getting shot. What more evidence do you have of some one getting shot. And signs don't count as people. A fence got destroyed a sign got shot up. They were told not build a fence. The government went through chaos they thought lets build our fence now. Well the military came in and said no were destroying it. Should the military hold the country together by enforcing laws and not let complete chaos take over. I think so. Iraq was crazy when they just let them do what ever they wanted.

LOL. The "guys with the tanks" are the same "guys" who did Mooobarik's bidding when he was in power and now they are hailed as heroes by folks who are all for freedom in the middle east now. Back when Iraq was going on even Obama said a genocide was better than us being there. How times change. Nothing will change in Egypt except women will now be forced to wear burkas and Christians will be slaughtered like they are all over the middle east.
