Learning the site

I am really enjoying the energy on this site.

I am still learning the ins and outs, and I hope someone will answer a question for which I can't seem to find an answer:

Under the avatar next to my posts, there are some letters and numbers. I can see that there are stars and flags, but I am not understanding what the others mean.

Help, anyone?

Flags--From threads you create that generate member interest.

Posts--Self explanatory.

W--WATS Index, this is a formula based on stars, flags and applause you get which determines your overall ranking on ATS sort of. You can check our top 50 Here.

K--Karma is another ranking similar to WATS, for members who don't create new threads, just a lot of posting and stuff .

Oh, yes! That helped a lot.

I was busy looking at all of the info you'd posted previously, and I learned a lot about the site, but I couldn't find what the "K" meant...karma. DUH!

Thank you for the invitation to call on you. The description you've offered of yourself, and what I've learned of your character so far, leads me to believe that we will communicate often.

I am a bookworm, so I study a lot. I am often overwhelmed by the resource of the www, so it is nice to have an alternative news source, as a base. I was on another popular one, but the hatred reigns there; a big glob of GLooP, if you know what I mean. It's a great concept, but the lack of proper management caused me to abandon that habit.

I am a watcher, so I am pretty open-minded for the most part. I tend to pay attention to all aspects of the world. Space is very interesting to me, too. I believe in different dimensions and windows that allow travel between them.

Though I am a follower of Christ, I am a realist...not a religionist. I guess I could loosely be labeled a panentheist. I believe there is a Creator and a spiritual purpose to everything and everyone. I believe The Creator protects His creation, according to His Own ways. Reality dictates good and evil in the world, and I search to understand the source and effects of both.

I am a person of strong conviction, and I communicate in a very emphatic way most times. It is not that I try to muscle others from their beliefs, but that I stand on my own. It is offensive to some, but my goal is not to pamper greenhouse pansies. I am interested in discussion and debate because I search out truth.

I am happy to have found this site.

You're going to do great here my friend.

Feel free to let me know if you need anything as well. All the members here do enjoy helping out the new members.

Although in your case you've certainly shown already that you have the proper attitude to be a long term member of ATS.

I know I will like it here. The atmosphere is energizing to someone like me.

I can handle tension, but rampant hatred will chase me away every time. I am not timid, but I do have limits.

It is definitely refreshing to see leaders leading in a positive way.

it certainly looks and sounds like you and i are going to have some interesting encounters
i like a strong mind as it encourages others
learning is an important to me as to be aware we require constant questioning of the world
this site rocks for people who are strong and intelligent
and i think it is the best site on the net
the people you will meet and the mods really do make this site what it is
and we can add you into the mix
