Quite far from Australia's east coast... near the Loyalty Island..... now hopefully there's no tsunami or Brisbane could be wiped off the map.

Seriously, Australia is getting it rough... drought... floods... cyclone... and now this? Really?

There have been a lot of earthquakes in that region recently - and up along the plate line. I was wondering if they had anything to do with the floods. I certainly hope everyone there will be ok.

Tsunamis travel long distances.. .and it's on Australia ``east coast``... so if a tsunami would have been created... it could have hit Australia's east coast... causing even more floods.

Population is around 22,000 and the total land area is 765 square miles

At the time I posted that there were no known casualties, not checked since as have been on duty
