Thunderstorms Shoot Beams of Antimatter Into Space

www.wired.com

SEATTLE — Forget about gamma rays from the hearts of distant galaxies. Scientists now believe gamma rays, as well as beams of energetic particles of antimatter, are common components of lightning storms right here on Earth.

We need some more Fortean news and less political chaos. So here is another contribution.

Antimatter here on earth? Naturally too!

This is some amazing work. If we could only figure out how to harness this for use.

On the other hand, what if this is something else entirely and has nothing to do with the storms, but is a cover for something weirder?

I don't think they do.

Its more about personal prestige than selfless science.

no matter what scientists say they discovered or not, the significance is lost until used in actual practice. and unfortunately, military use seems to be the primary objective in learning about a new energy source. we all wait for a better tomorrow. if science is claiming this discovery, no doubt its already being utilized in a more refined process somewhere in the world.
