The surge I'm seeing is in Repub right wing propaganda and fear mongering.
I don't remember anyone accusing Bush of all the nonsense the mainstream right is doing.

especially when Obama was voted in to unite the country.
Instead there is a surge of a division,
"Republicans have ratcheted use of the filibuster up to completely unheard of levels. Look at the things that the House (of Representatives) has passed that can't make it through the Senate. The list just keeps growing," said Norman Ornstein, an expert on Congress at the American Enterprise Institute, a center-right policy organization.
"Republicans are gambling they can convince the American people Democrats can't get much done, and at the moment, their gamble is paying off," said former Sen. Bob Kerrey, a Nebraska Democrat and the president of the New School in New York.

Ummm I didn't even read that on Fox News when I heard about it.
Why did the underwear bomber want to bomb that plane?
It was in response to Obama attacking Yemen, do some homework at least.

Not only is the country not more divided then ever is not even as divided as its was under the last administration. Maybe you missed all the massive anti war protests a few years ago
You bring up an interesting topic here
There were many anti-war protests
Now there are none even though TWO MORE COUNTRIES have been added to the list of invasions, Yemen and Pakistan, under Obama's clock.
Where are the anti-war protests though?
This leads me to believe that those anti-war protests were not full of anti-war people but anti-republican people.
If you could show me some logic that suggests otherwise I would apreciate it.

Obama is a new President who has had the misfortune to come into power with a collapsing economy and 2 wars.
Correct!
And what do you do when you have a collapsed economy caused by overspending? You spend more right?
That's what Obama did, he increased military budget by 11% which means trillions and not to mention all those bailouts.
Oh ya and 2 wars, so what do you do when you have two wars? You multiply it by 2 and now it's 4 wars, Pakistan, Yemen, Afghanistan and Iraq.
But poor Obama right???
Thanks for the explanation!!
Their slogan is "Radical Ideas. Real Politics." On the home page of the CPUSA site they proudly offer a snippet of their history - the struggle as it were - where they tell us "The Communist Party has an unparalleled history in the progressive movement of the United States . . . ." Huh? American Communists admitting a connection between progressives and Communists? Who knew?...

No, it's guys like you that demonize people that think differently than you that are polarizing the nation.
Right or left, the unwillingness to compromise and seek realistic solutions seems to be a thing of the past.
The Republicans in Congress have publicly stated their only goal is to oppose everything the Obama administration proposes. Great. Thanks guys.
Stop whining about Socialism. You don't even know what it is.
“The right-wing stranglehold on Congress has been broken,” declared Joelle Fishman, chair of the Communist Party USA’s (CPUSA) political action commission. “Electing the Democrats to control congress is a victory for communism.”
Fishman delivered her report to the committee as it discussed the results of the election. “With Democrats in charge the future of the Communist Party looks bright,” said CPUSA’s Executive Vice-chair Jarvis Tyner.
“The Democratic leadership in the House is in agreement with key elements of our near-term agenda. The long struggle to bring communism to America is nearer success than it’s ever been.”
Erica Smiley, National Coordinator of the Young Communist League, was bouyant, “The results of the 2006 election indicate a major turning point in our struggle to communize America.”
