The new banner is misleading and obviously not a real quote by BP. This is an assault on many members here that feel this is just an accident and not something purposefully done to "kill" the oceans.
By plastering this fake quote in their banner ATS is clearly sending a signal of its bias in this discussion.
Imagine if ATS posted a banner with the following quote,

"Palestine lied, on the flotilla'tis was terrorists that died"

I believe ATS should be a fair and balanced place to share ideas and have discussions about them, let the reader decide for themselves. STOP promoting propoganda.

One should decide if it was a purposeful accident or a preventable accident.

What is your views on the heated argument that happened just before?

This could've been a preventable accident.

I agree

They should put up a real quote. Shouldn't be hard if they are THAT evil, right?

As long as BP doesn't take action against abovetopsecret.com for slander then does it really matter?

i think the quote express's bp's overall attitude and behavior towards the situation.

i dont think its meant to sway opinion to what caused the disaster.

i mean whats the first thing bp wanted to do when it happened? clean it up or capture it?

i mean its only after intense pressure that they even started pretending to focus on cleanup.

no conspiracy there, thats how it played out.

How would you feel about the Palestine quote in the OP? or an anti Democrat/Republican/TeaParty quote?

It should be removed not only because it is propaganda.

It should be removed because it is LIBEL

Kudos to ATS!!!! Bravo!! Magnifique!!!

Screw BP and their bootlickers. Look at the spill and look at their acts of wilful negligence and absolute recklessness all in name of greed.

Times like these, someone's gotta stand up for the small guys, 11 who died and others suffering at the gulf coast as well as marine life, and ATS once again, bravely lead they way!

This is all fine and dandy until they start propaganda against you.

The quote is a lie, propaganda meant to sway your train of thought before you even open the first thread.

If you are ok with that I pity you.

it's up to the site owners, and since It's their site they can put up anything they want. perhaps they should put banners up that say things like "NWO?? maybe, maybe not." lol

i dont think its meant to be accurate.

kinda like me quoting you as saying

"waahhh waaah im offended by a banner on the internet"

its not exactly what you said, but you get the point.

Lighten up. It's obviously not meant to be construed as a genuine quote. It's using sardonic humour to make a point.

Gee some of you need to lighten up and take the humour, im sure there was no malice intended and was purely made as a joke, not to be taken seriously. Different strokes for different folks though i suppose. Comparing it to gaza/palastinian crisis is a little wrong though and an unfair analogy imo.

I agree. I don't see anything in the banner that tries to denote that it IS a QUOTE from BP...It's simply pointing out how A MAJORITY of the people on ATS feel about BP's actions FROM DAY ONE.......
