I have noticed (Sure others have noticed as well) the anti American sentiment that is so prevalent on the internet. So to you guys that hate America, please choose our fate. This thread is made especially for you, the viewer, to dictate what you think should happen to "We the People".

Here is a list of things that could help get that gray matter started.

Since our ancestors stole the land, Ship us all back to where our ancestors came from and give the land back to the Native Americans. They hate those reservations so much btw.

Since we police the world, open our borders up to everyone and let other countries invade us. hmmm this may already be happening.

Since capitalism is bad, increase taxes to 100%.

Since we are so fat, ban all food.

Since we kill the environment, take away all of our industry. hmm this may be happening as well.

Since our ancestors had slaves, make us slaves.

You guys are alot more clever than I so please let me know (honestly) what you think is an appropriate punishment for us. We are all just inherently evil so don't hold us back. I mean we never do anything charitable, correct? Please don't refrain from reminding us in this thread why we are so bad either. You don't have to but give examples of our destructive behaviors and how we have lowered the standard of life and progression on this planet.

I do expect to hear from you guys. I am generally interested into your mindset of why America is so bad. Thanks in advance and I promise I will not flame you for your opinions (can't say the same about the others and I may offer a rebuttal from time to time but I am sure you will get plenty of stars for your opinions ). As I stated, I am generally interested in your mindset.

Maybe i'm jumping the gun, but here's a thought.

Americans internatonally are regarded as arrogant, lazy, bombastic and interfering. And i'm not even talking about the military.

UNfortunately, the yanks were taught the ubtlties of international relations by the british, so the general thinking is: GAWD these natives are dumb.

If you go overseas, try a little humility. Listen to people, instead of telling them.

Ad no, the US is not the greatest nation ever, not even close. Maybe a small apology for what your home creature comforts has cost the rest of the world.

Oh, and stay out my country (military).

Didn't seem like you jumped the gun. No need to be scared of speaking your mind either, I am a huge advocate for free speech, (and the rest of the constitution for that matter). If I hear you right, an apology is our punishment. Well I must say that I salute you for that one. That is horrendous to many of us (me included) lol. Keep em coming guys and thanks for the input harry.

My personal opinion is that the stereotype of the typical american can sometimes be negative, but i've not met one in real life that i didn't get on with or really like.

We get told that they think they are bigger and better than everyone else, but lets face it, many things in the US are bigger and better. For a long time they had more funds than most countries will ever seen in a lifetime.

If people really want to "hate" the US, they should write a list with two columns, one for their peeves about US citizens, and the other for the US administration and greedy corporations.

I have a feeling i know which list will be longer.

No matter what country i read about or have visited, it's rarely the people that are the problem, it's the ones pretending they care about them.

It was the same in Germany, i went over there as a soldier with this sterotypical image of "ze Germans", which was not a good one after all that we had been told about history. However i've never met such a nice bunch a people. If i hadn't have been posted away i'd have happily have stayed there.

Same with N.Ireland....with the exception of the odd few that wanted to kill me every day, it was a great place with great people.

I'm not as travelled as some here, and maybe have not had as much contact with different nationalities, but whether they be Chinese, Iranian, German, Italian, French, and dare i say it...American
.....i've never found myself hating someone from another country.

Their goverments, now thats another matter, but not the people. Every country has it's idiots in the population, or people that let the rest down, so lets not just think it's one country.

Maybe it's got something to do with Hollywood and the film industry? I think the action films and the likes do a lot to add the the American image that some do not like.

So for me at least, i'd share a beer with an american any day.

I've starred and flagged this, not because i think ATS needs yet another US bashing thread, but in the hope that it gets more attention and people can remind themselves who they are really annoyed with.

Before I go off on some socialist tirade that you expect me to do can I ask what exactly constitutes 'Anti-American' sentiment?

Is it anti-American government? Anti-American people? Anti-American continent?

I don't know if I would go as far as to call myself anti-American since, well.... I am an American.

But I do have ALOT of anger at Americans and America. So let me start here....

It makes me very mad that so many Americans believe that we are the greatest country in the world and when you show them statistics they will come up with some lame ass argument against it.

It makes me extremely mad when so many Americans say that other countries and people want to be like us or they put down another country for what they percieve are its short comings.(which is usually their military or unwillingness to fight rediculous wars)

It makes me severely mad when Americans bash the French. The French have become a stereotypical scape goat in modern American society and it really pisses me off! They say the French are cowards, gay, weak, girly, and they give up when it comes to war.

And to top it all off, the thing that really lights me up. They run around using words that the majority of them have no clue of the meaning to. Socialism, Fascism, Liberalism, Communism, etc... Whether or not you support that particular ideology atleast give it and its followers a chance to actually debate the subject without you spewing your know nothing at them!

The people in general. The government is just to easy to hate, trust me, I know.
What I want to know is what punishment we should undergo for whatever it is that we have wronged in so many peoples eyes. So far apology is the worst punishment we have heard on this thread. That one makes me shudder.

ROFL!

You know, a few years back i was at a mate's house, he stayed in some flats. We were outside just making a braai (BBQ) when this black guy joins us. An american boy, he was here to help setup libraries in the townships. Noble intentions indeed.

So we had a really good chat with the guy, was from salt lake area, and had several million books to distribute, along with pledges from various US and SA people, to facilitate it.

We bumped into him again a few months later. Africa had completely done him over, he was penniless, and the promises from all sides hadn't come through. The books had just gotten lost in the system, and he left with nothing to show for it.

Now i'd buy that guy a beer anytime. The world needs more like him, BUT, my mate and i still laugh over him sometimes, over the way this US student was going to come fix africa. It's the attitude.

Needless to say, africa fixed that attitude right sharp

I've often been critical of the US and such.

And true, many times while abroad around the world, the loudest and most booming, arrogant voices are typically those of American tourists. I recall being in Japan and an American woman and her husband refused to take off their shoes when requested before entering a temple.

How did I know they were American? Well, my first guess came when she bellowed, "I'm American, we keep our shoes on when we want!".

Having said that, those sorts of instances are NOT unique to Americans only. *EVERY* country has its share of arrogant, moronic idiots who believe their way is the only way.

But that is not a brush I could tarnish against all Americans. I know plenty of Americans (via work) who are truly fantastic people, caring, considerate and generally go against the stereotype.

I do, however, despise the American government and its foreign/intl policies. But again, that does not represent the American people as a whole, as no govt every truly does.

So I say, hate the US govt, but give the people a chance - some are truly fantastic individuals.

Your options are all liberal fantasy's.Personally i don't like your president or your last one .Like all nations it has done good and bad things but it has achieved greatness. Though it is sometimes entertaining to criticise other nations i don't think you should take this too personally many peoples favorite pastime is nationalistic chest beating.Personally i just have never heard anti Americanism from any one I've ever met.I hope America succeds and i'll remind my countrymen that in the NHS'S infancy it was the US that bailed us out and saved it.

Oh...well then, I don't have anything against America, Americans or any of that sort, I misunderstood the thread.

As far as apologies go, a little humility wouldn't do us any harm.

You're grounded, go to your room and don't come out of it until you're sorry for what you did...and if you think you're going to be hanging around with that Israel any more, you have another thing coming. Nothing but a bully and a trouble maker.

Ok, I have a little more time to elaborate now..

I hate my government.. local, state, and federal. I don't hate all of the leaders as individuals, I just dislike the concepts of non-delegated authority as a rule of thumb.

I believe we have some wonderful people in America, as any country has. We also have our fair share of idiots.. as I am sure there are plenty that view me as such, given my views.

My country has some stains- a lot in comparison to some countries.. and a lot less in comparison to others. No world leading country/empire is without those stains. They would have never reached that status without them.

I believe that my country was founded on the basic principles of freedom for individuals.. and I can never view that as a bad thing. We started going down hill when we started handing over our individual power to others.. and so the slope goes.

Fools we breed into the folly.

Peace.

First and foremost, I've got no problem with Americans believing their country to be the greatest nation ever, it's your home, just fine with me to have pride in it.

I'll argue that the British had the greatest empire ever though hehe!

For the citizen, I really think Americans are no better or worse than any other people, there are some amazing ones and some real jerks. However that can be said of anywhere. The only thing I'd ask is that when you, citizens, go to other nations (and yes even Canada counts) take a moment to find out what is considered impolite or offensive in that nation, and learn a few words if they speak another language, yes, no, please and thank you generally are good, and if you're sightseeing, just be respectful, treat the places you go as though they are your own home.

As for your government, please for the love of all that is good in the world investigate the reasons for the War in Iraq. I want to know the real reason why, and I think the rest of the world does too.

Please put some checks and balances on Wall Street and the banking system, what happens to your economy affects all of us in the world.

NASA is the single most amazing administration of your government for sheer brilliance, please go back to the glory days, you had the whole world united and in awe when you landed on the moon.

Since your government owns General Motors now, bring back muscle cars, those were so cool.

To your political officials, please stop calling absolutely everything you do not like "socialism" it's usually not, and it is really confusing to the real Socialists in Europe such as myself. I'm sure the Communists on Cyprus are even more confused by your definitions.

Please do not act as though you, the individual politician are the best friend of the United Kingdom when you give talks here, you work for your country, we understand that, and we are allies. You're our friend, you're not us. (Notice I say this about politicos not the citizens, if you, the people, love the UK, good on ya, we've got lots of Britons that love America)

To your American Culture: You guys are actually making good films again and showing our good ones in your country, thank you!

Please stop Rap music from getting any worse, it was great back in the 90s and 80s when they had something other than women and shoes to talk about.

Force Nicholas Cage to retire.

Enjoy "soccer" as you call it. It is a far superior sport to your "football".

Do not enjoy "soccer" enough to win a World Cup, you can keep thinking the Olympics are the big show, really.

I don't really care if your people are fat, I am not paying for their healthcare, but you should care because you are on the hook for that one.

I do not hate America, but rather what she has become in the last 20 years. She's lost her way due to her fearless leaders... And now, sadly, she falters at all she once stood for.

All is not lost though... We the People still have time to change things

I am critical of all governments. I spend a lot of time in the US and the sheer variety of people fascinate me. I refuse to be sterotyped and must therefore hate stereotyping.

America in her short life has given the world a hell of a lot. The moon landings were brilliant. I was in tears and prayed to god to save the Astronauts I got teary over the shuttle.

I hate what happened with 9/11. I do dislike how you guys drive but so what! Hawai'i is wonderful except for Wakiki Beach. LA Airport is customer service hell and Miami airport is too small.

I could go on.

Expat Americans have an interesting take on the USA.

America is hard to dislike.

I prefer America to be the superpower than China

Cheers

Generally i've always been a pretty mellow kind of bloke, but certain life events make you realise that there is more to life than getting upset over every single thing that bugs you on the planet.

That kind of thing will be the undoing of many people i'm afraid.

I've also come to realise "HATE" is a really big word. People use it far too freely these days.

Not everyone is always going to agree with everyone, so as long we respect each other here as fellow conspiracy enthusiasts, treat each other as we'd expect to be treated, and give a smile and a thumbs up to even the most annoying person now and again, it has to make for a better day around here eh?
