I was reading through some local new on Topix.net when I came across a post from August 8th titled "Loud booms last night" that sparked my interest.

In reading through people's comments it seems that loud noises that sounded like "sonic booms" or "grenades" were heard in the South Arlington/North Mansfield areas as well as bright flashes. Other people claimed witness to a bunch of black vehicles parked in a parking lot and later something being hauled off on a flatbed.

The thread of witness accounts can be viewed at

Loud booms last night?

and contains a post by a desk-officer with the Arlington PD.

There's links to some twitter photos but they don't seem to offer any definitive explanations.

The common theme in eyewitness accounts seems to be flashes, booms and black vehicles.

Anyone?

Was this the same day that all the threads popped up here about the UFO on I-20? I think the DJ on The Beat was fielding a call about it on the radio.

If there was a UFO wreck or .gov secret vehicle than we will surely hear more about this.

There would have to be eyewitnesses even in the middle of the night. Arlington is huge place, and actually I consider it part of the Ft Worth Dallas Metroplex.

Millions of people live in that massive urban sprawl. Including most of my college roommates. Someone for sure saw what it was. Lets just wait till they come forward and tell us what went down.

I'm honored to be your first star and flag in this thread; it's awesome.

I am not sure what is really going on here, but SOMETHING definately is.

Lots of people including that Desk Officer, all have similar stories to tell. Some people witnessed things. Others heard things clearly. There are photos of a supposed UFO which landed in the exactly area at that time, loaded on a truck and being hauled away.

Lots of people heard many exchanges of extremely loud booms, described as "sonic booms," "bombs going off" and "grenades being exchanged back and forth" by many different people.

Something went down. Sniff it out!

I think you are on to something, McGruff, so I am going to post some of the more interesting comments and maybe upload the pictures and try to embed them, to better show people why your thread is awesome.

"My son and i started hearing the booms around 10:30 and at around 12:45 we were standing outside and we could still hear them, and see white flashes in the sky, it was not a storm, and it was not fireworks."

"These booms and flashes occured over South Arlington near I -20 and 287"

"I heard and saw the explosions, too. I drove all around 287 I-20 around 1:30 am and didn't see anything. Others said they saw Chan 5 news, then black SUVs drive up, news cameras stopped. cover up"

"I'm glad I'm not the only one... I called the police last night. I'm at Bowen and I-20... I could see flashes... near the end there was a series of them like fireworks... but I never saw fireworks...It almost sounded like mortar fire...This seems to be the only place I've seen any postings... Nothing on the news and nothing on the internet... STRANGE... I did not find anything concerning "Fireworks in North Texas" last night either... They were very loud. Someone has to know something more..."

"Others who saw it posted on myfoxdfw. there was some talk of black SUVs in the Big Lots parking lot, a few pics, they said was a ufo crashed on I-20"

"yep, i don't buy the ufo thing, but this was something very strange. it was extremely close to my house. i saw incredibly bright light and sparks high, over the treetops. definitely not fireworks"

"Where on Fox DFW are those pics? We heard the sounds also. It was very strange, but I can't find any info about it anywhere!"

"yea, the news blackout only makes me more interested. not a word from them. but the ppl around here all heard and saw it and say the same thing, loud, bright and intense. the booms just kept going off, in a rythym"

"Interesting, nothing at the link anymore. I'm in California and interested in what you all discover. Keep posting"

"the link to the pic is still on twitter, still can't really say what is on the flatbed"

"I saw the lights too. I thought they were fireworks but I never saw the actual fireworks. Just heard the booms and saw the clouds light up. Strange."

"I really think this is misdirection... Not that I do not believe in the possibility of UFO's BUT... The booms were constant over an extended period of time in a successive pattern that implys an ongoing process... That's not consistant with a landing or subsequent crash. These pictures could be of anything. If they were going to truck out something of that magnitude would'nt you think they would have covered it? Anyway, I believe there is a more reasonable explaination. I just wish someone would enlighten us..."

(Maybe they had a fire fight with a UFO for 2 hours, exchanging rounds back and forth, their's more effective than ours, and then finally our numbers overcame their superior technology, the UFO crash landed, and was hauled away as quickly as possible? Merely conjecture.)

This should be investigated further.

Someone should look for physical remains and proof on the ground.

Star and flag.

Thanks for the additional comments folks. One possibility I thought of while pondering this throughout the day is could it have been a crashed test-vehicle of some kind? Originally I thought that maybe it was a UAV that came down after being tested in the area (TX is no stranger to police researching uses of UAV's for urban survaillance) but then I figured that the Booms were what made this uncanny.

Remember NASA testing new propulsion systems such as pulse-detonation technologies? This could account for the "Booms" as well as a concerted effort to keep news of it OUT of the media. It might also explain the gov't-type of folks observed.

It's fun to play Fox Mulder every once in awhile

Greetings,

When I was reading you're post I had read a post of a flatbed carrying a UFO according to the reports coming from Dallas and I wonder how far Dallas is from where you're reported event happened .

Here is the link on another ATS Landing on I-20 .www.abovetopsecret.com... .

Maybe you should contact this poster if you're in the same area .

The reports were also of Black vehicles and Police escorting this Flatbed on a major Interstate a few days back .

Good post I hope that a connection is made and people in that area ask alot of oustions of those people who were escorting this Flatbed with unknown object.

Blessings and Peace

If there was UFO was indeed the same type seen in Chicago O'Hare or similar events, it probably didn't create the sonic booms. Don't people constantly see UFOs traveling at extremely unusual speeds and without sound?

btw I'm in Dallas but I haven't heard a word on the news about any of such events.

I think it would be a good idea to get this location on Google Earth and see the relation to the highway from the people who heard the explosions (if possible). This is certainly odd that this is coming about. I still dont see why they didnt cover the "UFO" it if this is all legit. I'd be happy to make a call down there to the Police Department and/or fire department to see if they had any runs and the reason they were called. I dont see what it could hurt.

another blurb about the possible cover-up - "Bits of data were reported on Twitter as the event took place, one such Tweet was that Channel 5 was present on the scene and were being ordered back into their vehicle and told to leave by people in black SUVs."

I'm also including a link to a Texas-UFO blog which lists mention and some image analysis on the "flatbed object" but no mention of the sounds, strange vehicles or gag orders.

Lights in the Texas Sky blog

I am going to email Channel 5 to see if they can confirm that they were turned away from a scene in South Arlington around the dates/times mentioned.

This subject actually had a thread minutes after it was breaking in this same forum. Much information, including every source listed in this thread had already been discussed moments after the incident, including another thread made later. Please add to the discussion there so we can get as much info as possible.

Well hmmm.. that's weird. The sonic booms that is. About 10 days ago? And then once more a few days later, in Denver CO, I was sitting in my office and heard what sounded like a fireworks display. Repeated booms, like the big ones going off, but quite a ways away. I even asked my wife to come over and listen, I thought it was pretty weird. In fact, I thought it was pretty weird the first time, but wrote it off as some sort of celebration with a fireworks display, but then it happened again a few nights later, and this was lasted quite awhile. Probably 25 minutes? It was very faint, but very obvious, and just looking out the windows, I could see nothing (no flashes or anything).

Just find it curious, after this story. I hadn't heard anything like that previously except on the 4th, where I live.

You're right, it is very similar.

I wonder if we're all just barking up the wrong tree?

I just can't figure out why they wouldn't cover these ships up somehow, if they in fact, ARE spaceships. Wouldn't they have a big tarp or something? Couldn't they borrow a few parachutes from other Army dudes and cover them up real quick before they take them out in public view?

I don't know but I hope more comes out about this case.

For what its worth, I emailed them yesterday and got this back from the managing editor of channel 5:

"We did not shoot any UFO's. I'm sorry we cannot assist."

Who knows.

Yeah that's pretty much what I expect to get as well. So far though...nothing.

To Cds4344 - I did some searching and found a couple threads about something being hauled down I-20 but didn't see any reference to the "Booms" that spawned this topic. If I missed something, my apologies.

Did you actually mention UFO's in your e-mail to them?

No need to apologize TXRabbit, I meant no harm; I was merely stating that every piece of info on this should be merged or be known because I believe this case has potential.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Is one of the first threads that broke, but I will have to do some digging for the other one that was made.

to edit: Yes the booms were made known in this topic as well.

I read also that there were calls made to a radio station, and the caller was put on the air live, I am not sure how true it is, but the station was then told not to air the call again, and the audio was removed from where ever it was posted.

Nobody seemed to get to the bottom of that part as far as I know, or even if it was true, but the talk was that the call to the station had people driving down to the highway to see for themselves, then nothing was heard again?

Can any one update on that information?
