Obama's call on photos saved lives

You American's have no business in these countries in the first place! Any human who takes pride in raping killing displacing and destruction is really sick. As a real woman I am truly fed up with Man and his chaotic inclination to deception and sadism, but most of all I am truly discussted with the females who participate and enjoy torturing - the pictures should be brought out and the culprits should be gassed - deserving rabid zombies!



i totally agree with you, if they would let them photos out of the bag them maybe there might be enough anger due in part, to get us the heck out of this 100 year war. so sad memorial day this weekend and all i see is campers, boats, but no one holding sings of our fallen soldiers

I see this to be completely different. But you are right... any form of censorship is not rediculous, because this is definitely a form of censorship.

But I still find this to be a much different case. Young children associate things they see people doing as being ok. So they emulate what they see. You know how it goes: Monkey see, monkey do. And I respect other people's children enough to understand that I wouldn't want my 1st grader, or the ilk, to be trying to get all the girls in bed. But yes, I will definitely try to explain to my kids about sex and puberty on my own logical terms when they start reaching that stage of their lives. I won't lie to them, I'll tell them exactly what it is, what it is used for, and what may happen when they don't practice safe sex. I would hate to introduce terrifying concepts to them, but better for them to understand the truth of it, and the truth of being safe. Yes? No? Why?

On the other hand, those of us who are of age and can definitely understand the not-so-fine-lined differences between right and wrong have no need to be censored. I'm just not a fan of censorship onto a crowd that is definitely able to understand things for what they are, rather than what some people want them to be or not to be. Now whether or not they actually use this ability or not is of question. I want to see the pictures only because they are the truth. I guess I'm just a bit worried that censorship, especially in the name of security, will give more excuses for those who can to make sure people aren't saying what those in control want them to say.

But If you can prove to me that my friends over seas will die because the pictures are exposed, then maybe I'm all wrong. But I think my previous post put that notion to rest. I mean really, I'm sure they have faked photos far more 'disgusting' to indoctrinate those children who fight today as propoganda long before the US attacked in 2003. In fact, I'm sure right after desert storm, the lies started flowing to monkey eyes and ears. Their recruitment tools were lies, they didn't need us to mess up in order to make mostly uneducated/already indoctrinated individuals to believe we are the antimohammud, beast, devil.

I wonder how many children, growing up in a country in which the president is regarded with enormous respect, are going to be influenced by this decision.

If the president publicly buries information in the hope of avoiding the consequences that information would bring, how can any American be blamed for covering up the evidence to a crime?

Children learn from the example their elders set them.

As to whether the pictures should be made public...I think it's VERY important they be made public. We need to know, FOR SURE, EXACTLY what our government did in OUR name, WITHOUT our consent and in VIOLATION of the CONSTITUTION. Everyone needs to know what happened to help ensure it doesn't happen again.

Should the concentration camp pictures have been released after WWII? It's more or less the same thing.

If tehy decide to use them in a court of law or military court to convict one of these Idoits then do it in the court not on TV and for god sake do not allow the world to see them until our troops are out of harms way.

These psycho's who are fighting our troops will not be emboldened in any way by the pictures. They've already said for years that they don't want us to leave their area of the world, they want us to leave the world completely. They don't want peace with us, they want us all dead and there is no compromise. How would the pictures realistically change that radical view? Before they saw the pictures, they just wanted us a little dead and now they want us really, really dead????

Regardless of popular opinion here on ATS these will kill soldiers who had nothing to do with it, if some of you are willingly to risk soldiers lives over this, then why dont you pick up a rifle and take shots at them eh?

Even if the pictures did risk lives which I don't believe they will, it's not US asking for the pictures that cause the increase risk. Let's place blame where it lies. Those who allowed the torture are the ones that could now be risking soldiers lives.
So before you attack people like myself, I hope you attack the root cause of the problem.
Before you demand action from us, I hope you demand prosecution for those who put us in this situation to begin with.

These photos are from the ABU GARIB Investigation, those "Soldiers" and I use that term loosely, have been giving tough sentences by a military trial, releasing those photos is nothing more then giving the bad guys another propaganda recruiting tool. If you can’t see that then maybe you need to get some glasses.

The bad guys? I hope you realize that means the USA - there is no other country responsible for so much death, misery and now torture than the USA.

Release the pictures - let the American people digest what terrible things are being done in their names across the world. You don't know because your press won't show you the horrors of those wars. The US has been killing so many people for so long - and your press tells you 'oh, those people, they were all bad'. Do you really believe it?

i agree it sounds like north korean propaganda , USA is hyper militarist,evil,fascist,socialist ,genocidal . this evil nation has murdered millions of people across the world in the past 200 years

but karma is sweet , now USA is paying for the evils it has commited . Its people are losing jobs in thousands daily and unemployment . USA deserves to collapse

the USA govt has been "nice" fascist on many occassions, such as WW1, New Deal era, 1960s etc.

That being saidit clearly is not comparable with North Korea or an inherently evil place to live
