I never spam threads, but I wrote a response to this one, and posted it as its own thread since I went on a tangent.

Yes, however how many 3rd party people are in Congress. The answer is 2. Only one who is proud to call himself a socialist.

I just love the fact we have a rep named "Bachus"

Shouldn't he be supporting legalization of marijuana or something?

Ok, I see what you mean.

This is akin to another thread on ATS attempting to call out "pseudo-skeptics." All it will do is demonize people instead of discussing ideas.

People will have to go underground in order to avoid being scrutinized as "socialists." It's reactionism on both sides.

Brings up an interesting point. Would the American people actually be able to interpret whether or not a representive is Socialist unless they have a big S next to their name? Do they actually know of the core foundations of Socialism or are they still brain washed by cold war fear?

Maybe they should pick up a history book. McCarthyism 2.0.

In the 180 years prior to the signing of the constitution our founding fathers gave us the answers to everything we need to solve our problems, its called the damn constitution it is the anchor that is supposed to keep Us from going to far left or to far right. Not only that you are all looking at the political spectrum wrong. It is not Socialism-------- Fascism.

Total government ---------- No government

Socialism, Fascism, communism, and Monarchies are all total government what our founding fathers called Rulers law, The American government is Peoples law and our constitution anchors us between total government and no government!

The simple fact is that both parties are moving two far left to total government, which will eventually like it always does swing back the other way when people get fed up, and then we have anarchy from there it will swing back to total government and we will get stuck in the same damn cycle that the rest of the world is in!

Why is our country so great, when the first settlers came to America they where using the same technology to Cultivate the land, transport them goods and their selves. we had made little advancement in 5000 years. in just 200 years of freedom we went from riding horse drawn buggies to riding rocket ships to the moon! its what is called the 5000 year leap!

Because in America the people where able to enjoy the fruits of their labor we advanced as a species more in 200 years then we ever had in the previous 5000 years!

That is an amusing take on it especially when you consider that regardless of what they call themselves all the authoritarian regimes that I know of are right wing establishments... not left.
