Usually I tend to agree and as I do think the OP is being a little facetious, I find the irony in it. A Muslim who is here to shed light on the beauty and peace of Islam cuts his wife's head off over dumb #, I'm sure. If a Christian television station owner cut his wife's head off, or runs her over with a car, shoots her, etc... It would be huge news and his lifestyle and career would definitely be in the limelight because it's intriguing to us. Your religion is fairplay, just as much as a Christian's is, Bodrul. You can't pick apart only the good parts.

Do I believe personally that this was in anyway connected to his religion? No. He was probably just like any other insecure conflicted person hurting another. If anything religion should have saved a man like that.

I read it was one of the highest.

Anyway if that statistic is right, 24th out of 193 plus countries = one of the highest.

It's interesting to note that many muslim countries are one of the lowest.

We need to stop pointing fingers, this is human nature not religion.

Actually I think I read the whole thing was her idea. So that to me makes the whole story so much sadder....Because her death creates more hatred, which is exactly what she didn't want.....sigh.

I've only read a few stories about it, but even then... When the # do you as a human being be like "You're nuts... I think you need to have a mental evaluation. Not because I'm trying to change your beliefs, but because you're my wife and I love you."

How many cable channels in the US? Furthermore, how many cable channels owned by Muslims? I reckon quite a few on both counts.

The fact is, the only reason this news item has any importance to it beyond what it deserves is because the alleged killer is a Muslim.

Let's throw open the doors and start a running count of crimes committed by Christians, Muslims, Jews, atheists and the irreligious. I think people who happen to profess the Christian religion have a running head start in the US.

Nothing to see here, move on. Just another example of the "religion of peace."

Thank God I wasn't born a Muslim woman. I wonder when the light bulb will turn on in their heads and they question why Allah likes men so much more than them? Why can't they have their 72 virgins also?

That's offbase. I'm a staunch defender of religion and religious people's usually, but this is news because it's IRONIC. What happened when Ted Haggard was banging a 19 year old male prostitute and taking meth? It was HUGE news.

In some countries you're right, women are not treated "as bad" as others. They are still required to defer to the men.

I love how they built a bicycle track in Iran with a huge wall around it so no men could see the women riding their bikes.

Back on topic though, of course he was a nutjob. What should make the news is not only is he a Muslim but his affiliation with the radio station and how they wish to portray a positive image on Muslims in general. Kind of ironic to say the least.

I have only read two stories after coming across this thread. My question is, instead of obliging her in some way, by decapitating her or what have you, why wouldn't you, even as a religious person take her to see a mental health specialist. When somebody says to you...

"I need you to cut my head off."

Religiously inspired or not, you'd by nature have to say "no."

Especially if you're a TV network owner trying to relay the supposed joy, peace, and tranquility of a religion onto a bunch of scared paranoid people.

You may be right but then again, last I checked 85+% of the population is Christian. So that kind of makes sense.

The news hangs any Christian pastor it can when they are caught in crimes much less news worthy than cutting off your spouse's head.

I don't care what religion the wife and husband are. The fact that they live here in America. They pay American taxes and spend American dollars with an American business makes him a murderer and that's that. He can do whatever he wants in his own country but when you're in America the laws the law and killing your wife is murder. Now why did I read " 2nd degree murder" Shouldn't it be first degree murder?
