Instead, the official agenda on Change.gov has been boiled down to one vague paragraph proclaiming a plan “to revive the economy, to fix our health care, education, and social security systems, to define a clear path to energy independence, to end the war in Iraq responsibly and finish our mission in Afghanistan, and to work with our allies to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon, among many other domestic and foreign policy objectives.”

So basically they updated the website. They prioritized the most important aspects that are going to be in the focus. The economy, health care, education, social security, energy independence, the war in Iraq/Afghanistan. These points were the focus of the campaign being pretty important topics. It's not as if they are trying to hide anything they just have a good idea of what needs to be done first.

In all honesty, I can't believe any news source would attempt to make something of this. You would think that as a writer you could see when you were just grasping out into the air for a story. Pathetic.

I actually see this type of story as insulting to the readers. When a writer feels as if they can make something up and people will just believe them.

you can not be seriously thinking that BO will try to follow the agenda?

first he is going to say that the situation he was not aware of (caused by the previous government) is forcing him to postpone it. in this time they will change it several times ("updates") and finally everybody will forget the revolution he promised.

but in fact, it is the only way. his agenda was fine but for the small and rich in natural goods country like Norway. the country with no special need to play any role in modern history. and finally not in the time of financial collapse.

now, he has to try (if he belives and really want to make it better) to give a green light for the private bussiness, cut the social costs (without rising the taxes). he could remove some forces from Iraq but without loosing control over it but mostly he is not able to follow any of the promises he made.

or they have some completly different plan - 911 like, to help them get rid of any agenda.

is Obama about to force the the American car industry to change from oil to gas

North American Natural Gas Vision

The New York Times
Tuesday, November 11, 2008

G.M.’s shares tumbled on Monday to 1946 prices, closing down 23 percent to $3.36, as analysts downgraded the stock on worries it would soon run out of cash and shareholderswould be wiped out by any federal bailout

this possibly could suggest gas powered -power stations as they are easier to turn on and off and lest costly and generate electricity more cleaner.

"Both as a candidate and now as president-elect, Mr. Obama has been in contact with former Vice President Al Gore, who last year won the Nobel Peace Prize for his work on climate change. In a column published in Sunday’s New York Times, Mr. Gore wrote that “we should help America’s automobile industry (not only the Big Three but the innovative new start-up companies as well) to convert quickly to plug-in hybrids that can run on the renewable electricity that will be available.”

"Mr. Obama has said that he wants to meet with the Big Three auto executives, but advisers say no meeting is scheduled. Among his advisers who have communicated with the industry chiefs and their representatives are Jason Furman, the Obama campaign’s economic policy director; John D. Podesta, the head of Mr. Obama’s transition; and former Treasury Secretary Lawrence H. Summers, an Obama adviser who is under consideration to be Treasury secretary again. "

this is a projection of gas

about 1.2 Bcf per day between 2002 and 2012.
Other production increases are projected for
the Northeast and Midcontinent regions,
which are expected to increase gas production
by about 0.3 Bcf per day and 0.4 Bcf per day,
respectively.

US Canada Mexico
Figure 49a. North American Natural
Gas Demand Outlook, Tcf
Sources: Sener, NEB (avg of TV and SP cases),
EIA reference case
From 2002 through 2012, onshore gas
production in the Gulf Coast, Southwest, and
West Coast is projected to collectively decline
by about 0.1 Bcf per day. Offshore Pacific gas
production is projected to decline by 0.1 Bcf
per day between 2002 and 2012.
LNG
The most significant change in U.S. gas
supply is projected to be the increased
importation of LNG. In the AEO2004
Reference Case, net LNG imports are
expected to increase from 0.5 Bcf per day in
2002 to 7.1 Bcf per day 2012, and 13.2 Bcf
per day by 2025.

Total 2003 - 12 Demand Growth = 7.3 Tcf
In contrast, during the 2002 – 2012 period,
domestic gas production is projected to grow
by only 1.1 percent per year from 52 Bcf per
day in 2002 to 57.8 Bcf per day in 2012. Of
the 11.2 Bcf per day increase in total U.S. gas
supplies from 2002-2012, about 60 percent is
projected to be satisfied by LNG imports,
while the remainder will be provided by
increased domestic gas production.
DEMAND TO 2012
North American natural gas demand is
expected to consistently grow as we move
towards 2012. This is due to many reasons,
including stricter environmental standards
encouraging the use of natural gas, the
construction of relatively cheap and efficient
combined cycle natural gas power plants, and
the continued penetration of natural gas
infrastructure into the furthest corners of
North America.
A
current levels of consumption and most expect
increases. Natural gas consumption for
electricity generation is expected to boom and
this sector is projected to more than double by
2012.
C
he NEB predicts continued growth of natural
T
gas demand to 2012. In the Techno-Vert
scenario, Canadian gas demand increases from
87
Outlook Section
2.75 Tcf to 3.46 Tcf in 2012, an increase of 26
percent. In the Supply Push scenario, demand
increases from 2.75 Tcf to 3.62 Tcf, an
increase of 33 percent. Under both scenarios,
gas for electrical generation is the largest
engine of demand growth - more than
doubling between 2002 and 2012. However,
the industrial sector remains the largest sector
in 2012, capturing 41 percent of Canadian
natural gas demand in the Techno-Vert
scenario, and 37 percent in the Supply Push
scenario.

Bush ran on the platform of "No Nation Building".

As long as Barack doesn't flip flop that much, I'll be okay. However, the second he invades Turkey, I'm out of here.

Oh, and
at someone saying this is the "most secret president yet". He hasn't even taken office, so it's quite impossible for anyone to judge him on that.

Unbelievable.

This isn't 'exclusive' by any method of imagination. If people could concentrate on in depth discussions instead of trying to find alarmist enough 'headlines' for new thread creation things would go much better. Counterpunch ( and imagine a host of other similar websites) covered and exposed who Obama was going to pick for executive positions long ago and there is no surprise in stating that the American national security state , with it's new figurehead, will keep plodding generally forward starving a few million here and killing a million odd there.

The following has little to do with empire and mostly covers just why Obama never planned to do much other than the same old reactionary things Bush, Clinton and those before did.

A Look Under the Hood of an Obama Administration

Hail to the Chief of Staff

Meet the New Boss, Same as the Old Boss

Conned Again?

We all want to believe that his promises will amount to something but Clinton came from nowhere as well, made the same wonderful sounding promises about saving the economy , and generally did little to reign in his corporate backers.

Stellar

Oh Please... that is because that is the website of the campaign and is only up and running anymore to sell stuff from the election... the moonie owned and operated Washington Times is hardly a legitimate source... kinda like faux news in print.

Here is the current official Obama website:

change.gov...

Another much to do about nothing. Now explain to me how this is newsworthy?

What a ridiculous thread.

The fact that some information was taken down from a campaign website means nothing! I guess now that Obama is positioning himself to be the POTUS, he will probably create a new website or use an official government website to lay his clear agenda out. I mean, if I just won the election I wouldn't keep spouting out campaign lines and use a campaign manifesto for official policy, I would remake my Agenda (for change) in a more clear and in-depth manner, I am willing to bet MONEY that this is what Obama is currently doing as it is the OBVIOUS way to go.

Do you think that just removing material from a website would make it disappear from ALL historical records? Get real. Obama and the democrats KNOW that the world has been looking at their promises and holding them to what they said.

Obama hasn't changed a god damn thing, and until you have REAL evidence that something has been changed, please hold off from your Faux news "exclusive" stories about our President Elect.

It must hurt to be someone as bitter as the OP, spending hours trawling through Obama websites and news trying to look for his new "scoop" to keep the ATS political trolls well fed!

Great job on wasting my time with this sensationalist piece of garbage, unfortunately I make my decisions on people based on actual FACT and CLEAR EVIDENCE...

Unfortunately this doesn't prove that Obama has changed anything, it only proves that the President-elect is hard at work!

UNBELIEVABLE!

Obama = Mc Cain = Bush. Without the help from the Sith lords you do not even get to run for president in USA. See Ron Paul.

Obama will not exit Iraq or Afghanistan, he will not end the war on drugs or end the Federal Reserve. Kennedy tried that once, but he was a "mistake". Ron Paul would have done all these but they made sure he has no chance.

Um.. because they are redoing their website, suddenly, he isn't going to live up to campaign promises?

That's a stretch even for this site. How about.. we let him actually take office and try to do what he says, before we string him up, eh? Missing text from a website doesn't mean he suddenly has a completely different agenda. Jump to conclusions much?

LOl, how quickly things change when the shoe is on the other foot.
Brave internet experts questioning everything you do and assigning absolute evil to your every mone or non move.

Welcome to "power" my liberal supporter, have fun getting repeatedly frustrated by the idiocy of your fellow tubes riders for the next 4 years.

Oh man oh man I am going to thoroughly enjoy the next 4 years as you guys get more and more frustrated by the empty rhetoric, the BS attacks and the constant drumbeat against your man.

Complete reversal AWESOME!!!

I didn't realize this would perk me up so quickly.. the last 8 years I have been so frustrated by the left and the constant vicious and dripping hatred that I didn't realize how refreshing it would be not to have to be on the receiving end of it..

On another note.. At least our President is considered "our" President again, regardless of political viewpoint.. that says something.
Not like the last 8 years when one side refused to acknowledge it.

I do feel sort of sorry for all his young supporters who will have to learn the hard way that all politicians lie and no matter how convincing they were when running for office they completely change once securely elected.

The good news for them is they can still celebrate right now because it will take several years before they realize how little their lives really changed for the better. The world is changing, so we may never know if it was Obama's leadership or the fallout from the past that is to blame.

All I know is I wouldn't want to be him as president during these dreary times. Sometimes I think the Republicans simply allowed McCain the honor of running for president as their candidate because they knew they couldn't win and really didn't want to win anyway.

You guys are so funny. It's funny seeing you squirm with conspiracy theories about communism and socialism just because Obama won the election. For all you know, he could be the next Kennedy. You simply DON'T know what he will bring, and that's a a fact we can all sit on at the moment.

Finally a freaking voice of reason. All these negative posts and comments I have been reading on this website really has shocked me. What the hell are you people so afraid of?
You think just because he changed his website that everything he has said disappears? I've had to deal with these crackpot crooks hiding under conservative masks robbing us blind and sending our brothers and sisters to war for profit and oil. Give the man a chance to work before you start spewing conservative garbage..

MODS: Sorry for the rant, just venting

So have we. We just don't want a 'volunteer' citizen army sending of our sisters and brothers to come after our U.S. rights.

Oh... You mean they archived all the stuff under an ORIGINAL website and then put all the new stuff into the one everyone's used to visiting so we can keep track of the latest developments?

Wow... what a structured and orderly and competent thing to do!

But HUSH now! Don't you know we're supposed to be scared to death? Shaking in our boots???

Here ya' go!

Screen Shot of original wording. It comes across small - so you have to make it a bigger screen once you click on it.

I believe Wolf321 was asking about the 'Agenda' - that is the title of the thread after all - and not 'America Serves' that is in your screenshot.

America Serves has indeed been altered, but from what I can see comparing the screenshot and the wording on the site now, more concrete information was added:

Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by setting a goal that all middle school and high school students do 50 hours of community service a year and by developing a plan so that all college students who conduct 100 hours of community service receive a universal and fully refundable tax credit ensuring that the first $4,000 of their college education is completely free.

Has anyone got any proof that there was a complete Agenda on the change.gov website?
I admit that I only visited the site two days ago, but there wasn't any complete Agenda on it either.

Until someone shows that the complete Agenda had been on the change.gov website before and has now been removed, this is a non story.

And those people saying he is already not following on his promises: He isn't in office yet. Perhaps it would be best to let the man get into office and then criticize him on the decisions he makes then, no?

Regarding him changing the agenda, well, the Complete Agenda is still available on the Obama-Biden campaign website.

Change.gov is not a campaign website. It's the site of the President-Elect and the Transition Team. They are not the same thing.

But like I said, until someone shows that a Complete Agenda was already posted on the Change.gov website and has been removed/modified, this is a non story.
