even though it has opened the door for an intelligent conversation about the fact that maybe not everything is just fine and maybe there are some things that need to change should be tossed, overlooked, scrapped. lets just keep telling the OP how he cant take over the US cuz we are so big and tough. here is this place for people to have inspired discussions and they all boil down to pissing contests when the opportunity to discuss something real just slips away.

and no, we don't have to even pay it back... the main holder of our debt would be in a negative economic position if we fall, from super power to rice paddies overnight

All buffoon Bush has to do is another Red Flag and invoke martial law and there you go its as easy as that. I'm sure some people will resist, those out in the sticks will fare better initially but in the cities and towns it will be much easier.

I don't think the problem here is specifically the USA. It's the wind up to the last pitch of the season.

Ever notice how you'll be going along, tra la la, and suddenly, out of left field, you'll see some person or group of people, become unpopular or hated and you're left scratching your head, trying to figure out how that happened? Like movie stars for example. That's a perfect case study. Some big wig who was a box office success can suddenly no longer find work and no one can explain it? Or some rock star will be top of the charts one day, and then no better than dirt the next?

There's supernatural written all over the events of this planet. There's not a single thing of import that happens here that isn't orchestrated at some level above human knowledge.

I am not very patriotic. BUT let me assure you, declare war on us, and hours later you will have our stealth bombers soaring over your heads. Like the Japanese in WWII, you will awaken the sleeping giant. We will easily attain arial supremacy, then initiate the Shock and Awe attacks. I work in bio diesel... the shale is kind of Ugly but no so bad as not worth doing, there will never be a true oil crisis in retrospect to there no being fuel...

Sitting in AZ, jatropha when planted actually reclaims desert land and believe it or not the water is there... Canada has what 80% o the worlds fresh water for us when needed, Jatropha actually can gop 6 months without water and it grows places crops don't...

Then add to that the coming push on vertical farms, the biggest revolution in agriculture since irrigation, we can yield 10x what we are currently producing for food and bidiesel both

The shale will be dirty, but it will be made up for via green energy sources...

and I luiagh when people complain the Us isn't with Kyoto etc... because with the modern farming techniques headed out there climate won't matter much, food towers don't flood or freeze or get ruined... so, the tempertaure rise in the south makes the south our biodiesel station and food wise the extra few degrees makes Canada a massive farm too...

the only places hurt food wise by global warming are not on this continent...

please can you calm it down a bit with the tough talk, there is no reason why we cant just overthrough your goverment they are quite an incompetent lot. I understand your patriotism and you feel that you are defending your country, but they'll screw you aswell and when they do you will be calling to our shores for help

I mostly agree, except that I would say that the U.S. and Britain and France were the bad guys in WW I, but the good guys in WW II. Hittler and Mussolini were very bad guys, and the NAZI's were German efficiency gone insane after the abuses heaped on Germany after WW I.

Stalin was a very bad guy, and so the start of the cold war was legitimate, but the USSR after Stalin was really not a power for evil, just a nation with over idealistic, unrealistic economic principles that fought on the ride side, for the working class people of the third world for all the wrong reasons, the establishment of socialistic communistic states. The U.S. had the right idea in the cold war, to fight communism because communist states inevitably morph into dictatorships, but our corporate powers inevitably backed easy to bribe, corrupt third world banana republics that oppressed the people for the benefit of corporate powers. What I think makes the efforts of the U.S. in the cold war a little better is that they had a few more successes in improving the lot of others than the communists had, but that is certainly debatable. Certainly Western Germany and Italy did far better than Eastern Europe and the cold block nations. S Korea turned out to be a huge success, and Japan emerged as a far better nation, while possibly the best success story of the USSR is Cuba. Cuba would probably succeeded far better if we had lifted the trade embargo long ago, as I think we should have done.

Wars U.S. won on its own, The war with against Britain, Mexico, Spain, and the U.S. essentially defeated Japan on its own in WW II. The U.S. failed in Vietnam, not because of lack of military success, we won all the battles, but because the U.S. people at home protested the war to such an extent that the U.S. government was forced to end the conflict. The U.S. also defeated Iraq twice, quite easily, and Afghanistan as well.
