I feel like in cases like this. Jury Nullification needs to be more widely talked about. If we as a people feel that a law is unjust. Then people can nullify cases so that lawmakers have to revise laws that we don't agree with.

What difference would it have made. Congress codified civil rights in the Voting Rights Act, and SCOTUS gutted that act, and continues to gut it, piece by piece.
Congress has codified same sex marriage, but if SCOTUS rules it not a constitutional/federal matter, then it doesn't matter what Congress did. States can refuse to allow marriage licenses and refuse to recognize marriages from other states as valid.
