I am using that quote
almost as good as rust now being called pattina .

Try asking if there is a eBay anonymous help group anywhere and get laughed at ikyn , people do not see this as a problem

Being an old carpy, I can't resist buying unnecessary carp fishing tackle on eBay. Particularly carp bite alarms. My latest purchase was a remote polyphonic set where the remote is an MP3 player.

So when I get a run my fellow carpers get treated to AC/DCs Thunderstruck rather than bleeping.

I just hope when I pop my clogs Mrs Carpy doesn't flog my stuff on eBay for what I told her I paid.....

I love fly fishing for carp in the Rio Grande, also big cats, and the occasional sturgeon.

It's a little different than throwing boilies and chum, but I greatly respect the Europeans for turning carp fishing into a religion.... A little different than drunks speeding around the lake in 500hp bass boat looking for bass or elitist Orvis devotees throwing size 22 midges with a $1k Winston Pure and a $1400 ABEL SDF Fly Reel.

Throwing boilies, my man? Remote bait boats or spombs.

I fly fish for sea bass and mackerel.

As for fluff chucking for carp, over here we mostly get them going on the surface with dog biscuit mixers. I had an imitation mixer made of dear hair with some success (a 23lb common which on a fly reel bashed my knuckles a fair bit) but usually they are out of range of a fly rod and boats aren't allowed.

I float fish for grayling on the Wylye, with maggots or sweetcorn,, a lovely chalk stream on my doorstep.

Then the Orvis dry fly only Police Nazis turn up and go purple in the face and apoplexic.

Stuff them.
