Actually, the USA is both a Democracy and a Republic. The two terms are not mutually exclusive.

Democracy definition: "a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives"

Republic definition: "a state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives, and which has an elected or nominated president rather than a monarch"

We are a Democracy being implemented as a Republic.

In it's simplest form democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what is for dinner.

All you have to do is look at the voting records of democrats in relation to the constitutionality of what they are voting on to see the obvious. Our form of government is a constitutional republic. Republicans generally, but not uniformly, tend to more closely "defend and protect" the letter and intent of the US Constitution. The democrats, on the other hand, obviously do not want that. I presume they take the same oath of office that the Republicans do, but they rarely act in that manner with their support and voting. They do not support and defend the US Constitution and would like nothing better than to scrap it and make a new one of their own choosing. In other words, a new form of government for the USA. So boiled down to it's simplest form, the democrats desire to overthrow our current form of government, by any means necessary, in order to create their own form of government. So in effect, people voting democrat are voting for the overthrow of our current form of government.

And anyone who thinks for an instant that the democrats are above cheating at the voting polls, and thereby defrauding the entire population of the USA of their right to freedom of CHOICE for the people they desire to put into office, is seriously deluded.
