I don't often pray, but when I do I make sure to do it in a hidden tunnel amongst stained mattresses and baby chairs.

Because that's a normal thing to do, apparently. The Synagogue itself is for baking Challah or whatever. Pray in the totally-not-rape tunnel instead.

When society has made violent protests about killing Jews the norm, then really, Jews will go to lengths to hide.

Contained within the tunnels were a soiled child size mattress, and a baby's high chair. Was there systematic rape of children involved at some point? The story bears similarity to another case (I don't have the details, sorry) in which children were systematically raped in a Jewish bath house intended for use by women. There is some sickening stuff going on here, and there should be a thorough investigation including testing of the child's mattress which was found there. Seeming evidence for child abuse in my eyes.

You can see the mattress, toys & highchair in the video where they are protesting the police investigation, they grab the mattress & swing it out of the hands of the police, not sure if the police even noticed FFS.

I respect your general position regarding the avoidance of anti-semitism, but you are defending these guys far too much in light of the fact that the mattresses, etc, need forensic testing before we can rule out child abuse, which this community has a history with, according to the available records posted elsewhere in this thread. Not all Jews are good people, and they shouldn't be automatically defended just because the community has suffered attacks in the past. I think there's something VERY shady going on here.

I'm noticing how much the narrative surrounding this has morphed over the past week.

First the tunnels were constructed over the past 6 months, now they were built during lockdown almost 4 years ago. First they claimed the elders were involved, now it was just some extremist sect of youth and the elders had no knowledge.

The truth will likely never be known now.

Old mattresses, toys & highchairs are also the kind of things that have been known to be stored in the likes of basements, and possibly tunnels if they are from the past.

I am sure if indeed there have been blood-stained mattresses discovered they will be able to test them for the likes of DNA and via other means.

But making assumptions about what took place down there without actual evidence is pointless.

And how can you claim the story bears similarity to another case yet not have any details?

I find it extremely hard to believe that none of the elders had any knowledge of the tunnel and what it was being used for.

I dunno, the Elders could all be in a persistent vegetative state. Then their spokesmen could reasonably claim they had no knowledge of the tunnels.

My understanding is that trusted and nosey individuals regularly report to the elders about matters in the community, and that there's rarely ever anything major that goes on, that at least some of them wouldn't be aware of.
