It's not money. It's old military equipment that we aren't using anymore. It makes room for new, more advanced stuff so we can remain the most powerful force in the world. We're sending them stuff from the 70's and 80's lol.

Think of the profits to be made by having to replace all that stuff we give them with newer munitions.

The US does not have the capacity yet to rebuild what it has already given them. It will be a few years before we get our stocks back up to a level that is adequate to fight a war with Russia alone let alone China if they get involved on Russia's side. First thing that will be destroyed is Europe if this depletion keeps up, we may still have enough to protect ourselves, but not Europe.

The military aid the US is giving Ukraine is helping to wear down the Russian military. Russia barely has enough equipment and troops to conduct offensive operations against Ukraine now, how is it going to start attacking European countries, almost all of which are in NATO?

China isn't going to be attacking Europe. It wants to trade with Europe, which is amongst the reasons it has given Russia so little support in this war up until now. Never mind that there is a great distance between the two.

The US sending older weapons and munitions to Ukraine to wear down the Russian military machine seems a good use of resources. Sure, it'll take a couple of years to build back the stock of some of our munitions and weapon systems, but as I already wrote, Russia won't be attacking the US or its allies anytime soon, given the state of Its deprecated military. As for the US's needs in a potential conflict with China, it would primarily be naval and air power, which we are not depleting.

The US and Europe are also building up their military industrial capacity in response to this war. In the post-Cold War Era of the "War on Terror" the West forgot about the amount of munitions needed in a conventional conflict against a near-peer opponent. This war has reminded us of this fact, and Russia's belligerence has shown that it is something the West has to take seriously.

Supporting Ukraine against war-crime committing Russia seems the most righteous use of US military support in many decades. And I'd rather the West stop Russia at Ukraine, rather then let Russia take it over, get more powerful and then start threatening NATO countries along Its border.

And in reply to your next post, you do know that Ronald Regan was an actor too, yet he was the darling of Republicans until Trump came along.

The US can afford it with 100, 000,000 new illegal aliens working and paying taxes .
Correct ?
Sources close to the matter say that's what Joe believes.

It's his tax money as much as yours, assuming he is a US tax payer. In fact, even if he is so poor that he doesn't pay taxes, his opinion still matters as much as the next citizen's in an election. And there are plenty of US tax payers who don't go on ATS to express their views who feel similarly. Elections have consequences. You attempt to make it sound like only yours and like-minded persons' opinions matter, when in reality all voters' opinions matter, and given polling data, the majority of Americans are for supporting Ukraine. That's how things roll in a democratic republic.
