New Twitter owner Elon Musk reportedly directed engineers from his electric car company Tesla...to take control of the social media company’s code away from Twitter’s engineers in order to evaluate potential changes to the company.

Musk began his new reign at the company by firing leftist CEO Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned Segal, and Vijaya Gadde, head of legal policy, trust, and safety, The Washington Post reported. The report said Musk also fired the company’s general counsel, Sean Edgett, who was escorted out of the building.

Musk tweeted "The bird is freed" after taking control of twitter last night, and has already started cleaning house. He seems to have a vision to make twitter what it was always touted to be, but never actually was..."a common digital town square".

How successful he will be in the current political climate of the country, and indeed the world, remains to be seen. I have no doubt there will be a lot more backlash than what we've seen thus far. Some folks like being more equal than others.

I predict hordes of leftists will 'use' this new found freedom to doxx and falsely attack anyone they desire, get banned for it, and then complain how Twitter bans the left unfairly and that Musk has turned Twitter into Parler.

That sounds about right, among other tactics we can look forward to. This could get interesting.

Objectively it wouldn't surprise me if Elon is mostly interested in the competition with Alphabet and #ing Meta Zucker.
He's charismatic and an Entrepreneur Icon but he's for sure just as the others in it for the power and data market. I don't know if it's true but I heard he wants it to be the 1 For All Application.
Time will tell.
But don't trust a guy just because he's kind of cute. How he thinks he's funny with his sink = just cute.

Not that it's his fault but I am always a little disgusted with the personality cult.

I don't have much love for musk but seeing all of the meltdowns over this have been entertaining.
There was a video of a Twitter employee showing what she did throughout the day and I gotta say it wasn't much.
Time to clean house.

I think we all know Musk is a businessman first and foremost. If there's profit to be made, he will find a way. Investors went in on this with him. They are looking for a profit too.

I honestly think it goes far beyond that. Elon is a very smart cookie. And a little scary just because of that. He knows opinion is the currency of power. He has an eye on the future.
The 1 for all application is a very interesting problem. A plattform that is your companion. The step to your own personal android, like your personal ST Mr.Data.
Without the body so far but he's working on that too isn't he?
And we add to that the project with direct injection if you feel a little 'dysfunctional'...
It doesn't spell #not-dangerous does it?

I think you're right. He's a player at the human/tech interface level as well as investing, and pandering to the "alternative" crowd. Surface level seems he's interested in providing a fair and level platform but anyone who plays at his level is one of them and will have trickery up the sleeves. Time will tell.

They are all competing with Tik Tok. Facebook, Twitter, all of them.

Elon is cleaning house but I hope he doesn’t throw the baby out with the bath water.

Sometimes these people forget even the smallest screw can keep big things together.

His Tesla engineers took control of the Twitter code?

Haha. Remember when I said don't say anything bad about Tesla or you'll get locked out of your Tesla?

Still funny though what's happening to Twitter. I'm sure there are a lot of enraged snowflakes.

When it was written “The pen is mightier than the sword”

This is exactly what they meant..

I don’t think many realize it but there are wars being waged all over. On land, in space, in the sea, and oddly the biggest war is with words…

I don't think Edward Lytton could have imagined how prophetic his statement would be nearly two centuries later.
