SJW's will be twats about this, but tough titties.

If this was real and not staged.

Good to see there are men who have the balls to stick up for their woman.

Family is the most important thing in this world, and if won't you won't stand up for them, then who will.

A man's greatest role in life is to protect his family.

Will was honour bound to stand up for his family, otherwise he would just be a soft-cock like most soy-boys these days.

Chris Rock didn't get what he deserved.

Will Smith should have punched him and followed it with a second and third.

Good on you Will Smith, I might not like all of your work, but my respect for you went up ten fold.

Just watched (i don't usually watch anything on YouTube) on a 37" 4k LED at full screen .
It appears fake , as Will's right hand passes IN FRONT of Chris; face .
I call media deception .

Great.

For those that have cable, (because I don't..) expect an apology from Will or his publicist in short order, IMO.

That dead silence after Chris agreed to keep his wife's name out of his mouth was deafening and I'm glad.

The veneer is cracking.

Why though? If its a set up, who would care enough?

Lol.. gotta admit. When I saw it on YT, I came straight here to see if a thread was posted. I came for the comments.

Something ain't right with that. Why would he be laughing 2 seconds before jumping on stage to smack him?? Then all tough talk yelling from his seat? That makes no sense and they are all actors to begin with...either it was staged (maybe Chris was unaware he seemed surprised, but again, they are actors) or jada Smith put some kind of mk ultra spell on Will lmao.

I dunno. Weird. And yea he hit like a little girl. Not a grown man upset about his wife's honor. I'm going with staged. Damned if I know why though. Just didn't look organic or real to me. If it was organic and real it's actually weirder than if it was staged lol.

If it was staged for publicity it worked.

Everyone will be talking about this for a day or two.

Those who enjoy the Oscars will carry on enjoying it and those who criticise it will have one main point to bang on about.

I don't really care, myself. That green guy from the trash can never shows up anyway and he's the only Oscar that was ever really entertaining.

youtu.be...

Wow, I just watched the clip.

That was not scripted, and Chris Rock took a major hit to the face. Will Smith walked right up and SLSPPED HIM HARD. Over a G.I.Jane 2 joke.

What an A$$hole. I realize he was sticking up for Jada, but damn. Live T.V. and they didn't censor it.

I didn't watch, I was binging on "Resident Alien". But YT was kind enough to push it just a bit ago.

So the Grammy's was tonight?

Edit: just type in Will Smith and the "Slap" is now there.. good job goggles!

What are people asking...

TWISTED SMACK

The punch didnt look real to me as his hand wasnt clenched into a fist and I'm sure Chris would have fallen back a bit more if Will had actually hit him but what Will said afterwoods about keeping his wifes name out of his mouth was for real... maybe the fake punch was just a warning!

WHat Chris said wasn't demeaning in any way shape or form.

Not something to get upset about IMO.

You can’t go around assaulting somebody every time somebody makes fun of your wife . It is illegal and he should’ve went to jail and screaming the F word in front of a people is kind of disrespectful Will Smith is a piece of garbage he always has been but tonight he assaulted Chris Rock and should be in jail, he’s not honorable, he’s a piece of trash , a violent scumbag

Yes Will Smith was laughing at the joke at first, but his wife's face said it all about her feelings.
So he probably seen her disgust at the joke and thought he'd do something about it.

We dont know the history between the parties involved there could be previous between them.

It was real imo. Sure you can hear the sound of him connecting with Rock's face. And i highly doubt the academy would green light Smith cursing live on air.

I think the implication of the joke was that Jada won't be winning any awards for her movie "G.I Jane 2".

Yes, Will was laughing at first but then realised that she felt offended and lashed out at Chris to save face.

Smith didn’t save face though, he committed a crime and was a violent psychotic freak .

I am betting it was staged to allow the failing oscars to get an increase in interest and clicks

Great example for the kids. Let me guess the liberals have double standards and he wasn’t escorted out or arrested for assault.

I meant save face in his wife's eyes.

I wouldn't be surprised if she said to him something like "You gonna let him humiliate me like that?".

There was another event - cant remember what it was, but they had "Bruno" from Sacha baron cohen, hosting it.

He did this stunt, then fell in Eminems lap with his bare arse right in Em's face.
Em flipped out of course then charged out of the event.
That was all staged.

Perhaps this was as well?!

If it was staged then Chris Rock deserves an oscar because he was flabbergasted for a minute afterwards which looked totally real imho.

what better way to revive a dying tradition. Use actors to act as if they had a tiff.
Totally believable.

I have a coworker who's crazy. She will be laughing two seconds before she yells at me for some reason.

At any rate, I saw someone in the comments at a another blog trying to justify Smith's behavior, but I don't think Rock was being any more of a jerk than Gervais was to the entire audience. I recall everyone there looking like they wanted to punch Gervais, but no one did. There's no excuse for Smith smacking Rock over being a comedian and doing what they do.

I mean ... isn't that what they always tell conservatives when we get angry over something a comedian says to offend us? They're a comedian; it's just a joke. You can take a joke, can't you?
